“Where did that deer come from?” Qian Rui was slightly stunned, then his pupils constricted, “Not good!”

The next second, as the Spirit Deer approached within a dozen yards, its body twisted and changed rapidly, transforming from the originally harmless creature into a golden-haired Giant Ape over ten feet tall.

This Giant Ape was not a living creature; it was semi-transparent, an illusion!

“I mean no harm and wish to avoid injuring you. If you scream or shout, I can stop you before that happens. I hope you won’t do anything foolish!”

A cold voice sounded, making Qian Rui, who was initially struggling ferociously, subconsciously stop.

Qian Rui was not weak. If it weren’t for a calculated surprise attack by Su Changkong, subduing him would likely have caused quite a disturbance.

Su Changkong frowned, and after pondering for a while, he stood at the entrance of the cave and tentatively called out, “Junior Su Helai requests an audience with Senior Qishi, introduced by Dr. Huashan!”

“Su Helai? The young man who sought my master awhile ago for the continuation of his meridians?”

The words of Su Changkong made Qian Rui pause as he guessed Su Changkong’s identity, while Su Changkong voluntarily disclosed his purpose and sought to meet Old Man Qishi.

Some time ago, Qian Rui had learned from Helian Yuan that someone had come to find Old Man Qishi for mending broken meridians, apparently named Su Helai.

Su Helai’s meridians were broken, right? But the young man before him had used methods that many Innate Martial Artists could not achieve, easily defeating him, a peak Qi-Blood Realm Martial Artist. How could this be the condition of someone with broken meridians?

Su Changkong stood at the entrance and called out several times, but there was no reply.

Proceeding dozens of yards into the cave, they reached the belly of the mountain. The interior of the cave was spacious, and ahead of them, a tightly closed stone door appeared.

Qian Rui spoke up, “My master is truly in seclusion; this stone cave can only be opened from the inside. Only when his work is completed would he come out of his own accord.”

“There’s not a sound inside! And… I don’t see any human-like Spiritual Energy!”

Su Changkong pressed his ear against the stone door to listen; there was no movement inside. Moreover, focusing his attention, Su Changkong couldn’t detect any presence of people.

Su Changkong’s Guiding Technique, refined to an advanced level, allowed him to see the flow of Spiritual Energy in the human body, even through obstacles, unless those barriers were thick enough to obstruct detection of energy flow.
