I Play the Horror World as a Simulation Game

Chapter 171: A desperate situation, carved three inches deep!

Li Qianqian took the two Ghost Currency coins, looked up at Qin Nuo, and a faint redness could be seen in her eyes. "Teacher, you're the second person to treat me so well. I will definitely repay you for the buns."

"If you're really grateful, just remember what I told you," Qin Nuo said. Honestly, he wasn't sure if saying these things fit the image of Liang Zisu, but he was trying it out.

Li Qianqian nodded heavily, her eyes unusually clear. She stared at Qin Nuo for a moment before leaving the classroom.

Qin Nuo looked at the sky; it wasn't too late, so he left the classroom, ready to head back.

"Isn't this Mr. Liang? How come you're still wandering around the school so late?" As soon as he stepped out, a voice came to his ears.

Qin Nuo turned his head, his expression slightly changing as he saw Mr. Yan approaching with that familiar squinting smile on his face.

"Does Mr. Yan know Liang Zisu?"

Qin Nuo was slightly taken aback, but considering there weren't many teachers at the school, it made sense for them to know each other.

He didn't know what kind of impression Liang Zisu had of Mr. Yan, but he was sure to be friendly on the surface, so he also smiled. "It's getting dark. Isn't Mr. Yan also in the teaching building?"

"I'm here to lock the doors, just checking if any students haven't gone home yet."

"I heard Mr. Liang was sick. Is it nothing serious?"

Qin Nuo replied casually, "I'm almost fine. I'll be back in the office teaching tomorrow."

Mr. Yan nodded, taking out a towel to wipe a ruler in his hand, the end of which was stained with obvious blood.

While wiping, he said, "Mr. Liang, the students in Class 1 are the most unruly in the whole grade. You've been their homeroom teacher for almost two years; it must be exhausting."

"Perhaps, but I've been teaching for so long, I'm used to it." Qin Nuo replied perfunctorily, thinking of an excuse to leave.

Mr. Yan's mood was unpredictable, and seeing his squinting smile all the time made Qin Nuo uncomfortable.

Just as he was about to say he had something to do and leave, Mr. Yan suddenly asked, "Mr. Liang, I remember there was a student in your class who had stomach cancer. How is she now?"

This question caught Qin Nuo off guard.

How would he know?

"I don't quite remember; it was a while ago, right? Ah, it's getting dark as we chat. Let's go downstairs and talk." Qin Nuo tried to change the subject.

Mr. Yan shook his head, seemingly persistent about the question. "Not long ago, this matter troubled Mr. Liang a lot. How could you forget?"

Qin Nuo rubbed his forehead, pretending to try hard to recall. "I've had a fever of 40 degrees recently, and my head hurts a lot. I really can't remember."

"It seems that student hasn't been here for a while."

"Mr. Liang, are you sure?" Mr. Yan's smile widened, his squinted eyes revealing an unclear gleam.

Qin Nuo pretended not to hear, looked at his watch, and said, "It's very late. Let's talk tomorrow. I need to get something to eat and take my fever medicine on time."

Saying this, Qin Nuo started walking toward the hallway.

Mr. Yan suddenly said, "You're not Mr. Liang, are you?"

Hearing this, Qin Nuo paused, his nerves instantly tense. He turned back to Mr. Yan and smiled, puzzled. "I don't quite understand what you mean."

"If you were the real Mr. Liang, she would never forget the student with stomach cancer."

"Some things might be forgotten, but not this!"

Qin Nuo instinctively asked, "Why?"

"Because that student is your daughter. Tell me, who would forget their own daughter having cancer?"

"Don't you agree?" Mr. Yan asked with a smile, putting away the towel. The blood on the ruler was wiped clean.

Qin Nuo's pupils slightly dilated.

Daughter?

What was going on? Since when did Liang Zisu have a daughter?

"So who are you, and where is the real Mr. Liang?"

Mr. Yan's face didn't show any ghostly transformation, yet it emitted a special Ghost Aura.

The long ruler in his hand trembled violently, like a bomb with a lit fuse, ready to explode at any moment.

Qin Nuo's expression darkened slightly. Was this a failed impersonation? It was only the first day of playing this role!

Mr. Yan looked at Qin Nuo with a smile and slowly spoke, "In this situation, is there any way to salvage the role you're playing?"

"Isn't this a 'certain death scenario'?"

Qin Nuo stared at Mr. Yan, noticing the dense black veins wrapping around his right hand. Hearing these words, he was only momentarily surprised before suddenly realizing.

"Who are you?"

"Don't you recognize me so quickly? It's only been two days, right?"

Mr. Yan's smiling expression suddenly changed, losing that eerie feeling.

Seeing this smile, Qin Nuo immediately remembered. It was that player named Shi Yu.

"It seems my portrayal of Mr. Yan was spot-on, even fooling the Phantom Master without a trace."

"Did I scare you just now?" Shi Yu put away the ruler and smiled.

"I spent a lot of effort studying this character, thinking of testing it on someone, and you happened to come along."

"So all those things you said were fake?" Qin Nuo asked with a frown.

"Of course, I made it up. How could I know someone else's character so well?"

Qin Nuo squinted, and the Blood-Eyed Ghost was clearly displeased with the prank. "This guy needs a lesson. Should we teach him a lesson?"

Qin Nuo stopped the hot-headed Blood-Eyed Ghost. Being tricked like this was annoying, but more than that, it was intriguing.

"How did you discover that this Liang was me playing?"

"In this instance, there happen to be a few Ghost Creatures that are useful, one of which allows me to identify if there are players among the game NPCs around me," Shi Yu said.

After speaking, he added, "I know it's quite impolite, so I sincerely apologize."

"No need for apologies. If there's a next time, I'll choose to take you down directly."

"By the way, you have quite a few treasures on you," Qin Nuo said, recalling the shape-shifting Ghost Creature, which was also a remarkable treasure.

"All from previous instances, some odd trinkets, nothing worth mentioning," Shi Yu waved his hand and laughed.

"Honestly, the character I'm playing, Mr. Yan, is quite twisted. Everyone in his family is a man-eater, and they've been giving me a hard time," Shi Yu said, scratching his head with some frustration.

Perhaps because the previously sinister Mr. Yan had left a deep impression, seeing him now full of humor felt so out of place that Qin Nuo couldn't bear to look directly at him.

After Shi Yu finished venting, Qin Nuo asked, "How many characters have you played now?"

"How many? Let me think."

Shi Yu really put on a thoughtful look and said, "The third one, I guess. None of them are normal anyway."

Qin Nuo wasn't too surprised, as he had basically guessed that the only player who had played up to the third character was him.

This Shi Yu, though seemingly quirky, undeniably had remarkable skills...
