Antiquity City, on the southern outskirts, a wide stone-paved road extends far southward from the city gate.

To the east and west sides of the road, the fiery-red leaves of the towering Moonlight Trees connect in patches, resembling a sea of fire.

Under the lush canopy, green-tiled wooden buildings of varying heights are scattered like stars, spanning so vast an area that one cannot see the edges at a glance.

A newly repaired courtyard stands quietly at the very southern edge.

The two-story wooden building faces south from the north, with one Moonlight Tree, as tall as a person and as thick as an arm, standing to either side, east and west.

Chen Mu sits at the stone table on the east side of the courtyard.

An invisible force forms a circular spider web over ten meters across, enveloping the courtyard.

Fine Jade Dew pearls keep being absorbed and gathered, quickly forming a fist-sized cluster. With a thought from Chen Mu, the fist-sized Jade Dew splits into two equal parts, evenly falling near the roots of the two Moonlight Trees.

Chen Mu ceases using the Dew Harvesting Spell, and the sound of shuffling leaves reaches his ears.

He notices the red leaves of the Moonlight Trees, large as palms, shivering and swaying, as tender buds poke through the surface of the branches, and the slender twigs grow slightly thicker. The overall growth rate is visibly rapid to the naked eye.

Chen Mu looks at the Moonlight Trees, which seem to be on an excited high, with a strange expression. He faintly senses a jubilant emotion from the entire tree, like a cat that has sniffed catnip.

"A tree that’s like an animal? A specialty of the Netherworld? Heh..."

This is his fourth day in Antiquity City.

After deploying the Five Ghosts to retrieve the Moon Beet Pearl from Niu Sanmiao, the latter took his entourage and left the River of Oblivion the next day.

Perhaps in a hurry to earn the next batch of Jade Dew Pearls, Niu Sanmiao marched so fast that a seven-day journey was completed in just five days.

The few oddly shaped beings he led into the city were left to the Lower Courtyard outside, while ordinary Yin Spirits like him were cast aside.

These Lower Courtyard folks were clearly very familiar with welcoming new Yin Spirits; registering them, introducing common knowledge, renting out housing—a smoothly operating process that allowed them to quickly integrate into Antiquity City.

The small courtyard where Chen Mu resides also belongs to the Lower Courtyard, which demands a rent of thirty Jade Dew Pearls per month.

An ordinary Yin Spirit can harvest one and a half Jade Dew Pearls a day, half of which they need for their own consumption, and the other half just covers the rent.

"You won’t die of hunger, but it’s hard to save anything extra."

"Calculated so carefully, there are capable people in Antiquity City indeed."

This reminds him of his experiences farming in the Lower Courtyard of the Tongtian River. Without a breakthrough, one would just be stuck in place, constantly gathering Jade Dew for Antiquity City, with little chance of escape.

"Unless you starve yourself to save Jade Dew, there’s simply no spare money to buy other things."

"Oh, planting trees might work," Chen Mu looks towards the Moonlight Trees.

"It’s a pity Moon Beet Pearls aren’t worth much."

In Antiquity City, one Jade Dew Pearl can be exchanged for a gourd full of Moon Beet Pearls. At best, they just help in purchasing some daily necessities. The idea of getting rich by planting trees is pretty much impossible.

"So this is... a human-shaped Spiritual Field producing Jade Dew Pearls? Tsk..."

...

As evening approaches.

The cold white sun in the sky slowly sets in the west.

On the stone table in Chen Mu’s courtyard are set three dishes.

One dish of fried golden nuts, a dish of thinly sliced brownish red marinated meat, and a dish of red spicy cold salad leaves.

Shi De Chun holds a small wine glass, happily enjoying the meat and wine.

Chen Mu also tastes the unique food of the Netherworld with curious interest. Although their appearance differs, the flavors of sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty are exactly the same. ȒA₦ÓᛒЁs̩

"The kind of power you spoke of is called Yin Spirit Divine Power," Shi De Chun takes a sip of wine, his cheeks flushing slightly. "It’s said that if you practice the Dew Harvesting Spell deeply, you can control it—it’s considered the fundamental force of us Yin Spirits."

"Did you already know about the Dew Harvesting Spell’s utility?" he looks suspiciously at Chen Mu.

The young bald-head has been chanting the spell whenever there’s a chance, ever since he received it.

But that’s not really the case.

Chen Mu shakes his head internally.

Initially, he was simply habitually grinding to improve Proficiency.

"I just saw those with strange shapes and forms constantly chanting, so I followed suit and practiced a bit more," he shrugs and fudges the answer casually.

However, Shi De Chun’s eyes light up with realization. "It must be the bull-head who told them separately!"

"It seems that whether you’re alive or dead, everywhere’s the same—if you’ve got no skill, you’re not worth being treated differently." He laughs merrily again, "But I’m not envious. For me, having wine to drink and wood to carve is sufficient."

Chen Mu gives him a puzzled look.

This old man may be a coward and slippery, but he seems quite open-minded at times.

"Yin soldiers, that word ’soldier’ surely means having to fight, and I dare not." Shi De Chun shrugs.

"If you have thoughts on it, you might want to train a bit more."

"First, cultivate the Yin Spirit Divine Power, then awaken the Divine Skills, and then you can serve as a Yin Soldier in Antiquity City."

Chen Mu frowns slightly.

First cultivate Divine Power then awaken Divine Skills?

"Does awakening Divine Skills also require Yin Spirit Divine Power?"

"Yes, that’s how the Yin Soldiers in Antiquity City do it." The old man takes another sip of wine, his eyes becoming hazy.

That doesn’t seem right; when he just crawled out of the River of Oblivion, he had a brief ability to use the Bewitching Divine Power.

"That one-eyed man, Hai Yuan, hasn’t cultivated Yin Spirit Divine Power, right?" Chen Mu frowns.

Previously by the River of Oblivion, he hadn’t sensed Yin Spirit Divine Power from the man.

"Hehe, that’s why he was your so-called traffic light," Shi De Chun chuckles.

What does that mean?

"Eyes shining, that’s at most a ghost trick, it’s hardly divine skills."

"It’s merely a glimpse of talent awakening at best, and you can’t even activate it properly."

Chen Mu had a sudden realization.

But for himself here…

His heart skipped a beat.

Although it seemed similar from every aspect, the Cloud Mirage Celestial Demon True Form was ultimately not a true Yin Spirit.

"Besides, if he truly awakened divine skills, he would definitely grow Divine Ghost Patterns and regain his human visage."

"With that traffic light appearance of his, haha…"

Regain his true form? Divine Ghost Patterns?

Chen Mu was stunned.

I do have some Bewitching Divine powers, but what the hell are Divine Ghost Patterns?

He wanted to ask more, but then he saw Shi Dechun swiftly crawl under the table.

Chen Mu’s face twitched in an instant.

Can’t you finish talking before you get drunk?!

You talk about never getting drunk after a lifetime of drinking.

Is this your tolerance?!

Chen Mu smirked, activated Qi Forbidden Hundred Miles, and tossed the soundly sleeping old slick-head into the rocking chair by the door.

He himself sat at the table without moving, slowly chewing on some unidentified braised meat.

Really go and become an underworld soldier?

Chen Mu shook his head secretly.

The mere thought of the risks involved in fighting filled him with instant resistance from head to toe.

But without becoming an underworld soldier, it seemed there was no other way to increase his strength.

An accidental arrival in the Nether Yin Underworld might be temporarily safe with the protection of the True Form of Heavenly Demon, but this wasn’t the world of the living—he still needed to return to the Yang Realm’s mortal world.

If he wanted to find a way back, he couldn’t do it without strength.

There was no Earth Spirit Vital Energy in the Netherworld, and with mana as a limited resource, he could no longer use it frequently.

"Yin Spirit Divine Power still needs to be trained."

"Only by mastering the local forces and deeply infiltrating the Netherworld can I better explore the way back to the Yang realm."

"As for the underworld soldiers..."

"Let’s wait until I figure out the Divine Ghost Patterns."

...

Two days later, Antiquity City’s Southern Ancient Moon Chamber.

This was a large-scale business in Antiquity City, rumored to be backed by the city lord himself.

All the precious items from Antiquity City came from this place.

And such Yin Spirit Magic Incantations similar to the Dew Harvesting Spell could only be obtained through Ancient Moon Chamber.

"Divine Ghost Patterns? You’re not drawing them pretty well?" said an old man with a goat beard, laughing as he looked at Chen Mu.

"Is this thing a Divine Ghost Pattern?" Chen Mu pointed at the vertical silver pattern on his forehead in disbelief.

"No!"

Chen Mu’s face suddenly turned dark.

Are you playing with me!

"I only said it looks like it," the goat-bearded shopkeeper chuckled.

"This isn’t drawn!" Chen Mu retorted irritably.

"Oh?" The goat beard’s expression changed, "Could it be that you’re one of those one-in-a-million talents who can naturally condense Ghost Patterns?!"

Even after years of cultivation, Chen Mu couldn’t help but feel his heart leap.

I do have the Bewitching Divine Power, and this innate silver vertical stripe might really be one of those damn Divine Ghost Patterns!

After looking closely for a long while, the goat-bearded shopkeeper stood up with a sudden look of realization.

"Is it Divine Ghost Patterns?" Chen Mu asked, hopeful.

"It’s a birthmark!" the goat-bearded shopkeeper exclaimed with certainty.

Chen Mu: "..."

God damn birthmark!

You might as well say I drew it myself!

Seeing the other party’s gleeful expression, Chen Mu’s face darkened in an instant.

This old guy’s giving me the run-around!

"Do you think you’re so special, a genius?"

"Too bad, though, other people think the same, haha..."

"Little baldy, don’t have such wild fantasies," the goat-bearded old man laughed, "Wait until you have enough Jade Dew Pearls to buy the ’Flight of Flame Scripture’, and then consider the issue of the Ghost Pattern Talisman Seed."

Ghost Pattern Talisman Seed?

"Flight of Flame Scripture"?

Chen Mu’s eyes suddenly lit up.
