Hiss!
A surge of vigorous qi burst out from within a dilapidated pavilion, the bricks and stones easily torn to pieces by the impact.
Hum!
The air abruptly trembled as a figure with pitch-black bull horns, five meters tall and with skin as dark and iron-cast as his body, tore open the roof of the ruined pavilion and suddenly appeared.
Jin Er’s mouth and nose were surrounded by swirling hot white smoke, and he glanced indifferently at Chen Mu.
"No wonder the Spirit Lord values you," he said.
<><>"But this is as far as you go."
Chen Mu stared at Jin Er, his brows slightly furrowed and the smile on his face slowly fading away.
The aura emanating from his opponent at this moment made his heart tremble without reason.
Was that feeling just now an illusion?Trouble!
"Not willing to give up?" Jin Er’s mouth curled into a mocking smile.
"Even if you’re a Condensing Aperture elder of Jilong Road, you’re nothing more than a slightly bigger ant in my eyes."
"You... heh!"
A strong sense of oppression came over him, and Chen Mu’s face instantly changed. With this level of might, an ordinary Condensing Aperture practitioner of Jilong Road would most likely not be able to withstand this bull-horned monster’s iron fist!
His heart sank.
"Take a beating obediently, and if I’m in a good mood afterward, I might grant you a quick death," Jin Er threatened.
"Otherwise..."
Jin Er bared his teeth, revealing his bone-white fangs, and a playful and malicious gaze filled his eyes!
The next moment, Jin Er’s figure abruptly sprang up, a ring of white smoke exploded in the air, and he appeared almost instantaneously above Chen Mu with a boom.
He put his hands together and raised them high above his head.
"Heavenly Destruction from Ten Directions!"
An imprisoning force suddenly descended, and Chen Mu felt as though he were a mosquito trapped in amber, fixed in mid-air.
This is it!
Giant Spirit Divine!
The shadow of a divine general in dark red armor flickered behind him, and a tremendous force suddenly bolstered his body, forcing a small gap in the imprisoning power.
Continue your adventure at
Chen Mu was immediately overjoyed and was about to cast spells to escape.
Jin Er’s indifferent voice came again.
"It’s useless," he said.
Clang!
The imprisoning force that Chen Mu had just pried open rebounded back into place.
The air around him suddenly became as rigid as concrete, and he was firmly stuck in place, unable to move!
In the blink of an eye, Chen Mu even felt as though time around him was slowing down, and a sense of despair began to spread in his heart.
He looked at the pair of crimson iron hands chopping down toward his head, feeling for the first time that death was just a hair’s breadth away.
In that instant, countless thoughts surged in his mind.
He just wanted to stay in a place where no one would bother him, where he could peacefully farm experience.
But why was that so difficult?
For more than ten years, he had lived cautiously, staying far away from danger. Yet, the unpredictable nature of events always surprised him, as if he wasn’t meant to have a peaceful and harmonious life.
Just give up resisting and wait for death?
Chen Mu’s pupils slowly contracted into needles.
No way!
Five Ghosts Moving Mountain!
Black smoke billowed out, and the Five Ghosts Bag opened wide as if bees were leaving their hive. Clusters of black mixed with red ghosts exploded in the sky like black fireworks, instantly filling half of the heavens.
If you want me dead, you’d better be prepared to go down with me!
"Thank you for giving me this opportunity!"
"I’ve been wanting to try this move!"
"Let’s die together! Haha!"
Myriad Ghosts as One!
The dense mass of black and red smoke abruptly became still, and the next instant, like piranhas smelling blood, they crazily burrowed into Chen Mu’s body.
Innumerable murmurs abruptly filled his mind, and every cell in his body was invaded by an intense hunger.
His already bloodshot eyes turned completely crimson. In his black, needle-like pupils, all clarity of mind instantly faded away.
All these complex changes were completed in the blink of an eye.
Next, the pair of dark hands enveloped in a strong wind indeed appeared above his head.
Chen Mu’s black and red hair, floating towards the sky, barely touched the hands before it broke off inch by inch.
The giant-palm like hands were about to chop down on Chen Mu’s head.
Boom!
An invisible aura burst forth from within Chen Mu, and he suddenly looked up, revealing a pair of blood-red eyes. Facing Jin Er’s fierce palms, Chen Mu actually bared a big grin, showing a purely joyous smile like a hungry ghost seeing food!
The next instant, a blue hand appeared above his head as if by teleportation, gently enveloping the lower edge of Jin Er’s hands.
Boom!
A violent shockwave radiated outwards from the point of contact, and Jin Er’s expression dramatically changed.
He felt that what he had struck was not a hand, but an exceedingly hard and immovable mountain of iron stone. With all his strength unleashed, he couldn’t induce even the slightest change in that blue hand!
Thump thump thump...
Sounds like snapping ropes crackled around him like popping beans.
Jin Er’s pupils suddenly contracted.
In his perception, it was as if he had trapped a giant python with a net of rotten thin rope. The power that had been restraining Chen Mu’s entire body was effortlessly broken!
Before he could muster his strength again.
Whoosh!
The indigo figure, nearly as large as his own, disappeared unexpectedly.
Jin Er’s hair stood on end, and as he instinctively looked up, he saw a blue iron fist shrouded in black and red smoke right in front of him.
He crossed his arms above his head out of reflex.
Crack!
The sound of his bones breaking echoed in Jin Er’s ears like thunder.
"Impossible!"
"This strength..."
"Absolutely impossible!"
His face filled with disbelief, a lightning bolt of intense pain struck his heart from his arms, and his eyes bulged in shock.
Boom!
A ring of white smoke suddenly exploded, and Jin Er’s figure was sent flying like a baseball, whooshing toward the ground with ease.
Chen Mu’s entire body’s muscles bulged with silver lines as he opened his mouth wide, almost splitting to his ear roots, revealing a mouthful of sharp fangs that glinted coldly.
Madness filled his eyes, and even the saliva dripping from the corners of his mouth seethed with greed!
It was as if a multitude of men and women, old and young, were roaring together.
"So frail…"
"Then let us devour you!"
"Become part of us!"
"Ah ha… ah ha… ah ha ha ha…"
The next moment, his figure vanished into thin air, and he crashed toward the ground with a thunderous impact.
...
Atop an unnamed hill.
Lin Su stepped on the white crushed stone and soil, climbing upward step by step.
Dantai Zong followed closely behind, his face growing uglier the further they climbed.
"Young Master, the situation doesn’t look good."
Lin Su paused, unable to help sighing, "Jin Er, oh Jin Er…"
Shaking his head slightly, the two of them continued to climb the mountain.
Before long, they reached the summit.
Not far below the hill, there was a pond that had dried up by more than half.
Lin Su observed for a moment and couldn’t help but reveal a satisfied smile.
"A fine place indeed."
"Suitable for sending someone to the Netherworld."
Dantai Zong stood behind Lin Su, his face hesitant, "Young Master, do we really need to send General Jin into the Dragon Trap Well too?"
"Aren’t you afraid that Old Lord Jin will cause us trouble?"
Lin Su replied with an easygoing expression, "Afraid, of course."
"But who let Jin Er bungle his task?"
"Even the annihilation of the Jin Family’s nine generations would hardly atone for ruining the Divine Spirit’s grand scheme."
Lin Su looked indifferently at the pond before him.
"I gave him the opportunity, and I gave him the time."
"Unfortunately…"
He turned back to look at Dantai Zong.
Dantai Zong’s face was grave. He bowed slightly, nodded, and then briskly walked in front of Lin Su.
Hands joined together.
"Netherworld Ferry!"
His entire body suddenly exploded, and in the blink of an eye, he turned into a puddle of bright yellow water, disappearing into the ground without a trace.
...
Thousand Lanterns City.
Inside a dark alley.
Shang Huan lay helpless against a wall, bound in pitch-black chains.
He looked terrified at something in the distance.
There, a five-meter-tall giant with indigo skin was holding a horned monster by its horns, swinging it against the city walls and then smashing it to the ground over its head like a rag filled with stones.
In just a moment, the massive city had been nearly destroyed.
His eyes bulging, he felt the wild aura, disbelief written all over his face.
Was this black-smoke-wreathed, blood-eyed monstrous giant really the same person as the one who used the Alchemy Furnace to stew pork ribs?
"Mu, he…"
"He’s probably gone mad, right?" Lu Ku let out a wry smile, "Such a terrifying secret technique can’t possibly come without a price."
Suddenly, the wall beside the two of them cracked open, and an eyeball covered in bloodshot veins appeared.
The air vibrated with a buzz, and Qian Mu’s anxious voice came through immediately, "That man has indeed lost his mind. Do you have any way to wake him up?"
Shang Huan lay on the ground, glanced at him, and suddenly burst into a strange chuckle, "Yes, if you beg me, I’ll tell you."
"Are you blind? That guy doesn’t recognize anyone now! If the general falls, neither of us will survive!" the crimson eyeball yelled.
Shang Huan furrowed his brows, unable to suppress a look of concern.
"That’s indeed a possibility."
The crimson eyeball blinked rapidly, "That’s right, if we can wake him up, we can still live. If you let him keep raging, we’re all doomed!"
Hearing this, Shang Huan’s gaunt face grew even more solemn.
"If that’s the case…"
"Then let’s all die together!"
"Ha ha ha…"
Right over his chest, Lu Ku’s mouth corners quirked up, "Seems like you’re afraid of death too, huh… hehe…"
The crimson eyeball stood frozen in place, its gaze filled with disbelief as it stared at Lu Ku and Shang Huan, "Have you guys gone mad?!"
But before it could plead further.
A streak of bright yellow water suddenly seeped out from the chains binding Shang Huan, and as it hit the ground, it silently began to spread rapidly.
Everywhere it passed, houses and walls corroded and collapsed as if wax had met flame, soon sinking into the bright yellow water to disappear without a trace.
"Netherworld Ferry?!" The crimson eyeball’s pupil suddenly contracted.
"Dantai Zong!" It cursed through gritted teeth and, right before sinking into the watery surface, vanished in a flash.
Shang Huan lay against the wall as the bright yellow surface appeared, slowly sinking down.
No corrosive pain came as expected; instead, he felt a warm and comfortable sensation that gave him an unprecedented sense of security, causing him to involuntarily squint his eyes.
"If I really have to drown like this, it wouldn’t be so bad."
"Lu Ku, still thinking about becoming a ghost soldier?"
"Probably won’t make it, huh." Only Lu Ku’s face was above water as he glanced sideways at the rampaging blue giant not far away.
He too felt the soul-soothing warmth.
This must be the sweet poison, he thought.
But…
"I tried my best; let it be…"
With an oddly light chuckle from Lu Ku, both their figures completely submerged beneath the water.
The surrounding walls and pavilions began to sink slowly but resolutely, quietly disappearing beneath the water’s surface.
