Guide to raise my cutie husbands

Chapter 1819 - 1819: Returning to the Village

These were her heartfelt words: no matter how long it takes, Xiao Chuxia was not going to let Yu Fei down the second time, this time around, no matter how long it takes. She was going to wait for him.

Gradually, the carriage picked up the pace and Xiao Chuxia was left behind and could no longer be seen.

When Yu Fei saw this, he couldn’t help but feel a bit more nervous. He did not know why but without Xiao Chuxia by his side, he felt a bit uncomfortable.

Of course, Yu Dong noticed his worries and nervousness. She said to him, “Uncle, there is no need to worry. Once you recover your memories, you can ask your aunt to come and live with you.”

“There is no need.” Yu Fei might have lost his memories but he did not lose his sense of propriety. “I am now a cripple and with half of my life gone, I will only drag her down; it’s better for her to find another mer and marry him.”

Though no one said anything to him, Yu Fei could understand a few things. Firstly, he was the one who asked Xiao Chuxia to make a promise with him and that promise was to never take another mer. Secondly, there was something wrong with his body and he could not get pregnant with a child.

And it was due to this matter that Zhou Ziming was able to dig his corner and even if there was something dirty involved in this mess, Yu Fei couldn’t help but think that Xiao Chuxia might really want a child, maybe this was the reason why she was so easily so fooled.

Lastly, the Xiao family was really nice to him. Even though he was filled with flaws, his brother-in-law truly cared about him and the number of clothes that his father-in-law had sewn for him was enough to show the care of the old mer.

He did not wish to drag such a good family down because of his selfishness.

It was one thing that he could not give Xiao Chuxia any child, but now that he had become crippled and did not even remember her, why should he ask her to keep waiting for him? It was better if Xiao Chuxia forgot all about him and started a new life with someone else.

What was more, if he were to stay with him, who could guarantee him that Xiao Chuxia would not change her mind in the future? She was kind and really did take care of him, but who could tell what would happen in the future?

Though Yu Fei had forgotten all about the things and promises that he had made with Xiao Chuxia, he knew one thing—there was no way he was going to accept another mer in his wife’s life. Since that was the case, he might as well leave Xiao Chuxia alone and let her decide what she wanted.

Yu Dong knew what he was thinking and did not say anything; instead, it was Yu Yue who rolled her eyes and remarked, “You are treating her way too well, if anything, she owes this to you. Even if she serves you all your life, the thing that Xiao Chuxia has done can never be cleared.”

If she knew that after finding out that Xiao Chuxia was affected by some dirty things, Yu Fei would start sympathising with that woman, she would have never said anything to her.

Yu Fei shook his head and smiled at his sister. He knew that because his sister cared for him, she would think that it was Xiao Chuxia who owned him. But who owned whom? He married Xiao Chuxia and couldn’t give her a child and Xiao Chuxia lost her youth by following him.

If one were to think of it carefully, no one owed anything to anyone.

Seeing that Yu Fei was still not looking happy, Yu Yue pushed the matter of Xiao Chuxia at the back of her head and started talking with Yu Fei about the cow in their cowshed. The cow had given birth to a calf a few days ago and the hairy calves were really cute.

She did this to make sure that Yu Fei would not think about Xiao Chuxia and get sad.

Yu Fei knew what his sister was trying to do but he did not stop her and listened to his sister talk about this calf. During these conversations, Yu Yue told her brother that their family was going to move to the Big River Village.

He did not think much about it after the situation outside was the same. No matter which village they run to, it would be the same. After all, with the ongoing drought, where could they even find a decent place to live?

It didn’t take long for them to arrive at the Big River Village. Once they arrived at the village, Yu Fei’s eyes could not help but widen. What—what was this? Wasn’t there a drought outside? Why was this village prospering then?

Was he really going to live here?

He turned to look at his sister and asked, “Sister, is this—is this really a village or did I die and go to heaven?” If not, how could someone like him even step in a place like this?

Yu Yue smiled at her brother’s antics. She poked him on the head and said to him, “What nonsense are you talking about? This is a normal village and not heaven. It’s all thanks to your niece, Dong Dong, that this village is prospering like this.”

When Yu Fei looked at the lush greenery and wells that were built all over the village, his eyes couldn’t help but shed a few tears. He had no idea why he was feeling so aggrieved and relieved but he was feeling so happy that he wished to kneel on the ground and thank the heavens for giving him a chance to live a good life!
