GUIDE TO RAISE MY CUTIE HUSBANDS

Chapter 1634 - 1634: Here to take away

Yu Jiao Yu was a smart mer, his intuition seemed to be telling him that there was something that Gao Ci was hiding and it was not a good thing.

He was really smart ever since he was young, so even though Li Hanyang had been buttered up nicely by Gao Ci— he was not going to believe anything that came out of the mouth of that treacherous woman.

However, there was a small problem, Yu Jiao Yu had little to no say in the family.

Gao Ci’s sharp voice came from the other room all of a sudden, “Hanyang, Your mer son is not bad at all, he is getting prettier by the day,” she praised the little mer who went to serve a few snacks to the two women who were drinking.

“Humph! He is just a fox, getting more and more sly as he gets older,” Li Hanyang answered with a snort, she had once liked Yu Jiao Yu a lot but as the mer got older, Li Hanyang started despising him.

She now firmly believed that she had made a mistake by giving ten taels to Master Tong. It was rather a losing bargain on her side.

Her dislike for her husband became even more evident when she found out that Yu Hai had died, without that woman sending meat and fur, it was simply too much of a loss.

Li Hanyang had been banking on the fact that she would wrench hundreds or thousands of taels from the Yu family once Yu Jiao Yu married her.

However, she did not even get the chance to enjoy the good fortune and that woman died!

Not to mention, Yu Jiao Yu had given her mer sons after mer sons, without giving birth to a daughter.

How could she not feel uncomfortable?

Her mer sons were all beautiful. With cherry-red lips and beautiful eyes that glittered as if filled with tiny stars, they had flawless snow-white skin and even their voices sounded like orioles.

With their looks, they have already attracted the attention of many women who wanted to marry them. Each one of them came to the Li house and asked for the hand of her eldest son, if not for the fact that those women expected a grand dowry, Li Hanyang would have sent Li Cui away.

When Li Hanyang thought of how she had six more sons, she was driven out of her mind. A part of her wanted to ruin the good looks of her sons, such that no one would want them and she would throw them to anyone as long as they were willing to take them.

It was humiliating to accept that she did not have the money to marry them.

But she stopped when she thought about the betrothal gifts that she would lose if the good looks of her sons were ruined. Maybe someone would accept them and give her money without asking for anything in return.

When Gao Ci heard the disdainful words of Li Hanyang, she was delighted as she thought that there was a very good chance for her to get what she wanted. She smiled and said to Li Hanyang, “He is really beautiful…such a beautiful mer —don’t you think it a pity to not make use of his appearance?”

“How can I make use of a mer’s appearance?” Li Hanyang snorted. “Other than catching the attention of women, what can they even do?” She sounded as disdainful as possible.

“Oh but there is indeed something that they can do,” Gao Ci lowered her voice and then said to Li Hanyang, “I have a distant relative in the west. She is someone who sends young mers to work under the rich young masters. She has loads of connections, you know? If you listen to me then I can set up a few connections for you as well.

You will be able to earn quite a decent sum of money if you send your mers to the west.”

“Even their salaries will be handed to you.”

As soon as Li Hanyang heard that such a thing was possible she was more than willing. She blinked her eyes and questioned, “Will this work?”

“Of course,” Gao Ci had to admit that Li Cui was really a beautiful mer, in this entire village no mer could match the beauty of Li Cui, who was fair-skinned and slender.

Li Hanyang was of course tempted but she still pretended to think and asked, “What kind of job is this?” Even though she sensed something was amiss, she was willing to agree as long as there was a justifiable excuse.

After all, Li Hanyang knew her sister-in-law very well. If there were really some good benefits then Gao Ci would have monopolized them all if she was willing to share such a good thing— there must be something wrong with it.

Gao Ci rolled her eyes, she knew what Li Hanyang was trying to do. She wanted a scapegoat to blame in case something went wrong.

She smiled pleasantly before saying, “It is not a difficult job, you know how those young masters are too busy to cater to the needs of their newborn children? Or how they need someone to be the playmate of their young mer sons.”

With a smirk playing on her lips, Gao Ci said to Li Hanyang, “Those young masters do not have the time to pay attention to their children, as they have much more attractive things to play with.”

“With all the banquets and tea parties they attend, how will they get the chance to play with their children? So they hire a few mers to take care of their children. The younger they are the better, as they would be closer to the age of their children.”

While speaking those nonsensical words, Gao Ci did not feel guilty at all. It was not her fault, after all, if those mers wanted to blame someone then they should blame their mother who disliked them so much.
