A gentle woman lifted up a tea cup and then set it down. She frowned a little bit, her cut button nose belying her large stature. She must have been at least 6’3″, and yet she had a dainty demureness to her that made her feel like a petite, refined woman.
She picked up the tea cup again, but then set it down once more.
Something felt… off.
“It’s interesting. I didn’t think that you’d end up choosing the path of tea, but I can understand it. It seems my wife is quite the genius.”
Selheira suddenly looked up, her blue eyes dancing like an exploding sapphire nebula.
“You… who are you?”
She felt something deep inside that she immediately pressed down. That was the bestial side of her. She was trying to ignore it, but it was hard to deny just how strong her initial attraction to this man was. So much so that she could hardly control herself.
Was this normal? Not at all. She had simply never felt like this before.
“Tea is a uniquely human thing. To savor the herbs of earth, to steep them in patience and surround them with warmth. It’s not something that beasts can usually understand. Why do all of this when you can just eat the herbs directly?
“It’s interesting. We humans don’t have nearly the same sensory perception as you beasts, whether that’s literally or in a more figurative, cultivation sense. Our instincts are limited.
“But what we are very good at is finding meaning in things where there is none, or making the simple overly complex.
“Following the Path of Tea is perfect for you.”
“I…” Selheira’s mouth opened.
“Come.”
The tone was suddenly commanding, and Selheira stood to her feet. Before she knew it, she was in Ryu’s arms.
She shuddered a bit, and then tears began to fall in her eyes.
Even after all that effort, she was still so weak. She fell to her bestial side so easily. Facing a man who suppressed her in all ways, she seemed to lie down in obedience, willing to let him have his way with her.
“Do you feel broken?” Ryu asked softly, picking her chin up with a delicate touch of his fingers.
Selheira’s tears reflected his image, her lips trembling, half with desire, half with unwillingness.
“I…”
She didn’t have the strength to say the words.
“Why are you running from your heritage?” Ryu asked another question.
“… I have… no control…”
Ryu raised a hand to the skies, and a bolt of lightning pierced the dome of the Heavens. All of a sudden, the entire True Martial World was cast in darkness.
“Your husband is the Heavens. Do you still feel broken?”
Selheira looked up to the skies in a daze, shock coloring her features. Suddenly, all the fetters on her Bloodline seemed to have been stripped completely.
She trembled from head to toe and then leapt onto Ryu.

Ryu crouched on the ground, holding up the soil of a Black Rose. He shouldn’t even be able to see it right now, but his cultivation had finally reached the point where even Rose couldn’t hide from him.
“Are you still being stubborn?”
The Black Rose swayed in the air, but made no attempt to change.
Ryu smiled. “What if I gave you some Black Vein Spirit Seeking Lilies? That’s your favorite snack, isn’t it? You know, I was wondering how Sacrum produced such a rare Spiritual Herb. It must have been you, hm?”
The Black Rose swayed again, then its petals turned away from Ryu as though turning its back on him.
Ryu chuckled. “I didn’t steal your wife, I just took my own back. But if you come with me, I might be able to let you taste her from time to time. Don’t blame me if she prefers a man’s touch, though.”
The Black Rose swayed back and forth angrily.
“You’ll prefer my touch too.” Ryu raised a finger and a droplet of Embryonic Qi fused into one of Rose’s petals, causing her to shiver from head to toe.
The Black Rose stopped swaying, partly in defiance, partly because it didn’t trust itself to move any more.
“You know, you probably shouldn’t forget that I’m an Origin Grade Herbologist. I could let you off this easily… or I could plant you in a very special location, perfectly curated by me, and send you over the edge over… and over… and over…”
“ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT!”
The Black Rose spun into a naked woman who seemed part furious and part filled with anticipation.
“Is this how you get women? Just abuse your Embryonic Qi and touch them places they didn’t ask to be touched?!”
Ryu looked down at the beautiful lips between Rose’s legs. Seeing how they were almost gorgeously red and swollen, he realized he had touched a far more intimate place just now than he thought.
A grin spread across his lips.
Rose’s waist was in his arms before she could even react.
“Hey! Let me go!”
“Is that really what you want? I could let you go right now.” Ryu loosened his grip slightly, but Rose shifted up toward him a little bit more.
Ryu’s grin widened. “Come on. Let’s go see my wife.”
“My wife!”
“No. My wife. And you, you’re also my wife. Don’t get confused.”
The dominance radiating off of Ryu made Rose’s eyes wide for a moment. It wasn’t just a masculine scent he was radiating, but something beyond that.
As a Spiritual Herb, she could feel it more intimately than practically anyone else.
He was the Heavens, and the Heavens were him.
**
Ryu seemed to collect his wives across the span of space and time with ease, but every time he acted, he could feel that heavy Karma weighing him down.
Standing in the depths of space now, he saw the sea of Corpse Poison following after him. Decay, hurt, pain, the worst Existence had to offer all bundled up right before him… unfettered in its grotesque, twisting mass.
Ryu reached out and touched it.
His body seized, black veins pulsing up his arm and ripping through him with a vengeance.
He raised his head and roared into the skies, the bounds of space and time shattering as his pain echoed across the timeline.
