[Luck: 12,133]
—
Sylas looked at his new Luck stat, honestly not quite knowing what to make of it. The change had happened instantaneously. There wasn’t even a notification. It was almost as though he was born with his stat like that.
But that wasn’t the only change.

[Affiliation: Legacy 7777; Progenitor of Earth]
—
His Grimblade Lineage affiliation had been replaced with Progenitor of Earth. Was that because he wasn’t allowed to have any affiliations of Earth that weren’t Earth itself? Was this the system’s way of telling him that Earth was now his responsibility? Or was it just telling him that it was irrelevant what organizations of Earth he joined since they were all under his charge anyway?
‘Hm? The Legacy number changed…’
Sylas’ eyes narrowed, suddenly forgetting about the Progenitor Title.
‘Is it because of the glitch? No, that can’t be. I would have noticed the change to the Affiliation before…’
Sylas had been forced to check his stat screen relatively recently—post the glitch. He would have definitely noticed that sort of change, it was at the very top of the screen.
Plus, since everything was changed to Ancient Ithkuil, he could take in the entire length of his status screen with shocking speed and accuracy.
But that was also why he could tell that this number change wasn’t so simple. In Ancient Ithkuil, this number for Legacy wasn’t just a randomly assigned number… it represented a ranking of priority.
Because Sylas knew this, his first thought was that Legacy had moved them up from 9996 to 7777 because of Moose and what he represented. But because the timing was misaligned, he realized that that couldn’t be it.
Which meant that… something else had happened.
‘Is it the culling Sylviaa mentioned? But I don’t think that they would wipe out so many of their branches… if so many were useless, why have so many of them to begin with?’
Sylas shook his head. This wasn’t working so he decided to set it aside. He was clearly lacking a huge part of the picture right now, but he had other matters to attend to…
Like his rewards.
Or, at least he thought he would. But there was nothing.
‘No rewards?’
This surprised Sylas a bit. But then he understood. Whatever his rewards were likely would be given to Earth. Or, more accurately, his success was in exchange for lighting the Progenitor Flame of Earth. His world was likely undergoing a great number of changes right now.
It could be said that this was his fault. After all, Earth had given up everything it had left to get him to Level 50. Now that he had allowed its gamble to succeed, it was taking everything back.
It couldn’t be underestimated just how much it took to raise Sylas to Level 50. If he had been to do it the normal way, it would have likely taken him years at the very least.
The issue wasn’t that his foundation was too deep. Instead it was a matter of relativity. Sylas was too strong for the corner of the universe he was in, so the quality of his resources were likewise lacking severely.
Earth didn’t even have any Silver Genes for him to partake in… at least not before.
When Sylas understood this, he relaxed. That was fine. He had gained a great deal from this Quest. Not only had he gained a useful pawn in Lorien, but his Will and Demonic Will had taken huge strides forward. They had advanced more today than in the last several months combined.
Plus, he couldn’t forget that he had also been given a chance to trade in his Legendary Glassvolt Heir Class for a Gene Class…
Now, whether or not he would make that decision, he was still on the fence about. He needed more information.
But first, it seemed time to return.
Sylas wrapped Lorien, who was slung over his shoulder, in his Will and then his intention moved.
The world moved around him.
**
When Sylas’ vision cleared, he found himself on the floor of an unfamiliar room. It took him only a moment to remember.
Before he passed out, he told Gogo to conquer Legacy and to also get the necklace to Cassarae. Gogo was smart enough to know how to use the World Scepter without his input, so it seemed that things had gone quite smoothly.
Sylas pushed himself up slowly to find that the injured Lorien was pinned beneath him.
He nodded.
This seemed like a simple thing, but it was actually quite huge. Outsiders shouldn’t be able to enter Earth so easily, and yet here was Lorien.
Sylas felt a subconscious closeness with the land beneath his feet right now, enough to tell him that Earth hadn’t yet actually completed its Summoning, though it was in the middle of an evolution right this moment.
No, the Summoning was completed. More accurately, they were in a transition period now.
The only reason Lorien could come here was because Earth trusted Sylas. The short of it was that Sylas could bring anyone he wanted here and Earth wouldn’t bat an eye.

At least not at first.
