Sylas’ gaze sharpened.
After the initial shock faded away, he dropped Astrid from his shoulder, his intent blazing.
This…
Was an opportunity.
Without the slightest hesitation, he stomped a foot. The section of the wall he stood upon shook and quaked, the ground beneath responding as though a fourth T-Rex had appeared before their eyes.
However, the group barely had time to register the shocking change before he shot out like a speeding bullet, his body tearing through the air.
BOOM!
Sylas’ body collided into the chest of a rolling T-Rex.
They were completely disproportional in size, and yet all the forward momentum of the T-Rex came to a stop, its short arms unable to do anything to stop Sylas.
Sylas, however, felt as though he had run into a brick wall. His current Constitution was shocking. Even without any Aether, it was just two points shy of 7000. Yet this creature made him feel small and insignificant.
And yet his blood boiled.
Sylas retreated through the air, a tail swinging for his head.
He dipped beneath it with a pull of his telekinesis, landing on the ground and then accelerating forward.
To his surprise, the T-Rex actually kicked out at him, dirt and stone flying as it cut out deep trenches with its claws.
Crossing his arms before his body, Sylas braced for impact, his gaze flashing as his Scorpion Warlord Armor took shape in an instant.
In that moment, his Constitution shot up by another +3000, his Scorned Wraps making his defenses almost 13,000.
He dug his feet into the ground, his body meeting the blow head-on.
BANG!
Sylas’ gaze flashed, the foot that dwarfed him in size stomped dead in its tracks. His arms opened up, his eyes blazing with life as he grasped a toe. His torso flexed, his hips torquing. Bulging veins pulsed through his arms, and his momentum came out in a single mighty roar.
He stomped a foot so hard his knee almost vanished into the soil, and yet he didn’t lose his balance.
For a moment, it really did feel as though a fourth T-Rex had appeared. Because not a single sound could be heard over Sylas’ voice.
The enormous creature tipped up into the skies, the world spinning around its vision.
In its last moments, its small mind just barely registered the fact that something was wrong.
And then it was dead.
Flames combusted from the inside of its body, starting from the depths of its very soul.
Before it even crashed to the ground, it was a small mountain of raging fires. And by the time it hit the ground, it had become nothing more than plumes of ash billowing into the skies.
Sylas burst out from the soil, soot, ash, and greys billowing around him as he spiraled toward the clouds.
One would have thought that he would bask in the victory, that he would take a moment to breathe, to understand that he had just done something in a few seconds that almost no one on Earth was even remotely capable of.
Yet his reaction was very different.
He appeared high above the second T-Rex, cocking his arm back. He placed out a palm as though for balance, the other tightening into a fist so steady that it was the air around it that trembled instead.
SHIIIIIING!
A bursting wind of white-green flames erupted from the blackened length of the three sharp claws. They were so long that they looked like three short swords taking form in the world, their bodies shimmering with a dense blackness for only a moment before the Will of the dead T-Rex coated them.
Blade Aura.
The second T-Rex raised its head to the skies, a billowing roar coming from it. Spittle and hot breath spewed, sparks of very real flames taking shape as though it might breathe out something more than just hot air very soon.
And yet, Sylas looked it right in the eye.
This creature was once the apex predator of Earth.
There was a new predator now.
Sylas’ gaze flashed, and his arm descended.
Aetherflow roared, and three scythes cut across the air. A Will that could blanket and suffocate the world took shape and ripped through everything.
The roar of the T-Rex was abruptly cut off, its enormous head freezing in place for but a brief instant before it slowly fell into three pieces.
A pulse of power came from Sylas’ arms, and a flood of Blood Essence rolled into his body.
’Close. But not close enough.’
The Greed Seed rumbled and greedily tried to take it for itself, but Sylas ruthlessly suppressed it, pouring it all into the repair of the Blackened Claws.

More Will poured into the blades, and Sylas vanished in a streak of silvery-white lightning as a tail swung through his position in the air.
When the eyes of the spectators finally caught up with where he was, the head of the final T-Rex was being tilted up at an awkward angle, blood gurgling out from its mouth.
SHIIIIING!
Three white-green blades erupted out from the top of its skull, its eyes dimming before them all.
Sylas shrugged his shoulder, and the T-Rex tilted to the side, its body convulsing once as it collapsed to the ground.
Silence fell as though a harsh cold was sweeping through the tropical land.
Three Bronze King Beasts. Three dead Bronze King Beasts.
It couldn’t have been more than five minutes. In one instant, they were there, and in the next, they were fertilizer.
"Basilisk King," Sylas said lightly.
A roar filled the skies, and a monstrous black and gold serpent appeared.
"Eat."
The Basilisk King didn’t need to hear this twice. Its jaw opened wide, so wide it made even the previous T-Rex’s look small in comparison.
With a chomp, half the head of the T-Rex vanished, the sickening sound of crunching and chewing filling the once silent atmosphere.
The Basilisk King tilted its head back, swallowing a large Gene Core whole.
