“I can let you use your skills through me,” an excited Memory said.
Alex did not immediately understand what she meant, so he asked her to explain.
“You know your skills, right?” Memory asked.
“Yes,” Alex nodded.
“You can use them through me,” she finished.
Alex had a blank look on his face even after that. “What do you mean use my skills through you?” he asked.
“You just… you just put your Qi into me and tell me what skill to use. I can use it,” Memory said.
Alex’s eyes narrowed. “Any skill?”
“Any,” Memory said confidently. “I think.”
It wasn’t an intuitive ability for Alex to understand immediately. He would have to try it out for himself and see how it actually worked later on. For now, he needed to get back to the competition.
He looked up at the timer and saw that less than 20 hours remained. It would be difficult to come up with a pill in that time.
Alex sat down quickly and asked both Memory and Godslayer not to disturb him for a while. Memory went back into the cauldron, and Godslayer simply watched to see what he was going to make.
The pill Alex had eaten seemed to have been used up already. He wasn’t sure if it was because he learned an Axiom or because he broke through to the Immortal Origin 3rd realm, but his mind was no longer as clear as before.
But it was also quite fresh, as all of his Qi and spiritual energy had been fully restored after he finished breaking through.
Alex now hoped that his creativity had been restored as well.
Alex searched for ideas, but in their absence, he was forced to look elsewhere. He thought of several other types of pills there were and if he could make anything similar to those.
As he thought along those lines, he found himself gravitating toward a potential pill. Perhaps because of what had happened just before, the pill recipe that he had never cared about had come to the forefront of his mind.
There was a Celestial pill recipe he had learned about a long time ago, back when he was only a Saint. While there was no way to make that pill just yet, he had more or less understood the concept behind how the pill functioned, enough so that with the right ingredients, he could replicate its effect.
Unfortunately, the current ingredients he had wouldn’t do that. He couldn’t even downgrade the ingredients, considering the original recipe had Celestial and Divine grade ingredients that he knew little about.
Thankfully, Alex needed neither of those. What he needed was an idea, and thanks to that pill, he was now inspired for one.
Alex immediately looked at all five major ingredients and began imagining how he could use them. Not only that, he also looked through the minor ingredients and searched for one that he could use.
He still hadn’t fully grasped what sort of pill he was going to make, just the type of pill it would be.
Alex quickly realized that it was going to take a whole lot longer to create this recipe than the time he had, so he sought more time. He took a deep breath and used his Intent to slow down time around him.
Time stagnated by a lot around him, giving him a longer window during which he could come up with the recipe. Looking at the timer, Alex had nearly two days of time.
Alex knew he didn’t actually have that long in truth. He would be forced to let go of that aura long before that time came to be. So, he would just have to use as much of it as he could without knocking himself out.
Hours passed slowly, and Alex got closer and closer to devising the concept for the pill. He changed the order of the ingredients, replaced some, and even went as far as to try and use multiple ones at once.
At some point, Alex had to let go of the slowed time, lest he irreparably harm himself.
Alex got closer and closer to the pill he wanted, and it was only two hours before the end of the competition that he finally managed to figure out the base recipe.
He still needed to refine it afterward. That wouldn’t take him long, though.
Alex took a small break, breathing out in a sigh of relief. He looked at the timer to see how long he still had. He was about to look away when he got what he wanted, but just then, he noticed something in the brackets.
“Oh!”
The results for the other match were out.
Leafheart had won.
Alex had been so focused on creating his pill that he didn’t even realize this had happened. From what he could see, Leafheart had made a 100% pill, while Treegold seemed to have made nothing at all.
‘I guess I can understand him,’ Alex thought. If not for the Axiom he learned, he might not have been refreshed enough to have any new ideas. If not for seeing Memory’s tribulation, he would not have had the idea for this pill either.
Alex took back his concerns and focused on the task at hand. He still had to complete the recipe, to refine it. After that, he would have to make the pill, and only then would he be free enough to not be concerned.
The refinement portion itself took not more than half an hour. When he was done, he finally had the recipe ready.
The recipe Alex had ended up creating as the final recipe for the final competition was a pill that could delay Immortal Tribulation.
Each Immortal would have to go through an Immortal Tribulation every ten thousand or so years. If one chose to delay it by a century or two, they could eat this pill and do so.
Eating the pill would give enough time for the unprepared to prepare for their own Immortal Tribulation and hopefully survive it.
