"As my daughter, Amphitrite is naturally very powerful, now that we've connected again, she probably gained even more strength from my bloodline." I said very proudly.
"Oh wow…" Hydros said. "Oh well, I think they're fine now…"
"Yeah, if it was too dangerous I would've definitely stepped into the battle and-"
SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!
Oops, spoke too soon it seems.
"W-What…?!"
Amphitrite's scream echoed through the beach, as she glanced around, realizing she was surrounded by three more of the same octopus.
And then, a dozen more emerged from the sea waters, digging out from their sandy hideouts…
"Hmm, looks like they live on packs…" I said, analyzing them.
"E-Eh?! Let's go help them!" Hydros panicked.
"Yeah," I nodded.
As we ran there, the octopus opened their pointy mouths, firing beams of concentrated water and divine power, capable of piercing mountains easily.
"Amphitrite!"
My daughter's husband panicked, he was only a God of Fishermen, manifesting his fishing rod and manipulating its long, metallic thread, wrapping it around the head of one of the octopus.
"Don't touch my wife and my son!"
With a furious roar, the one-eyed fisherman dragged the octopus towards him, where he swung his large fists, punching its head constantly.
As this happened, Amphitrite, with her son in her arms, fired her harpoon towards the nearest octopus, piercing their head and blowing it up.
However, three more attacked her from behind!
"Aah!"
She panicked, with little fighting experience, she hugged Triton tightly to protect him, unable to react in time to do anything else.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Three blows should've reached her but instead… she was saved. A barrier of blowing water manifested around her.
It wasn't Hydro's doing, nor mine.
"Mama! Don't be afraid…! I'll protect you!"
Triton, who looked to be barely three years old, spread his little hands, manipulating the oceanic water and using his divinity proficiently, protecting his mama.
Just like I had taught him!
"T-Triton…! You did this?"
The barrier was being constantly battered by powerful tentacle blows from the octopus, but it was unmoving, my grandson's divinity was very powerful.
He had yet to even develop all of his power completely, but as he did, his divinity simply kept rising without end, back then when I trained him, I instantly realized he had an immense amount of power hidden within him.
"Haaah!"
Hydros roared angrily, growing two more pairs of arms, with giant red colored crab-like pincers, using them to rapidly intercept the octopuses, cutting them into countless pieces with precise cutting attacks.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Ah, so that's where those crab hands went to! I thought she had simply taken them away permanently. Meanwhile, I went to save my daughter's husband, who was getting strangled by the octopus he tried to defeat, he was ultimately weaker than the monster after all.
"{Chaos Butterflies}"
I waved my hand, as hundreds of small butterflies made of black, red, blue, yellow, pink, and purple encompassed the entire octopus, devouring it into nothingness in a second, leaving behind my daughter's husband, unscathed.
"E-Eh? Ah… What a technique! T-Thank you for saving me, mother-in-law- Ugh…!"
However, before he could speak any more, he fell to his knees, his blue skin growing purple, the poison was already acting.
"You've become poisoned, stay there."
I touched his head, rapidly using Gluttony to devour all the poison in a single second.
"{Devour}"
FLUOSH!
"Ugh?!"
He panicked for a moment, as he saw a giant jaw emerge from my aura, devouring him… only to do nothing to him, only eating what I assigned.
"I-I'm fine? The poison's gone?"
"Yeah, I simply ate it, you're welcome… Here, your reward for being a good father."
I gave him the core of the octopus, a beautiful and powerful Divine Core.
"If you absorb its power, you will be able to make your Divinity stronger, let's go."
"Oooh! I see, thank you so much!"
As we ran to help the rest, my butterflies, a new "weak technique", flew around us, protecting us from the divine monster attacks while devouring the octopuses like a deadly swarm.
This technique could be said to be an evolved version of the [Soul Feasting Abyssal Caterpillar Jaws] Fusion Skill, or a technique created using it as the base.
And it was very effective!
"Jeremias, place that stone in your chest and then think about "absorbing its power"!" I said. "Then use that power to catch other monsters, use this opportunity to get stronger, got it?"
"Yes! Understood!" He nodded; he was very obedient. He quickly did as I told him, the divine core he absorbed instantly turned into divine power he absorbed, his divinity becoming several times stronger than before, reaching the Peak of the God Realm.
It was no mere Divine Core but the one belonging to a Peak Great God Realm Divine Beast, so it was obviously going to be so strong he'll jump ranks right away.
"A-Amazing…! So much power!"
He quickly swung his fishing rod, catching the octopuses with the sharp metallic thread and using the hook to grab them towards him. As he did, the octopuses seemed paralyzed, and the more they struggled the more they were torn to shreds.
"Haaah!"
Until he decided to tear one of them, destroying their limbs and popping their head, killing it on the spot… Then, he quickly moved to the others around him, distracting them while my butterflies took care of them.
Meanwhile, Hydros cut through the other octopuses attacking our daughter, while our grandson kept the barrier to protect his mom and also his grandma.
BAAAM!
"Eh?"
Hydros was surprised, as a wall of water protected her from a blow coming from behind… Yes, that's my boy!
"I'll protect grandma too!"
Triton quickly concentrated, his barriers changing form, as giant sea serpent heads surged from them, his mother was shocked.
"Now, like I taught you, Triton!"
"Yes grandma!"
He nodded confidently and cutely, as he swung down his hands, the serpents moved towards the octopuses, biting their tentacles or heads off one by one.
CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH!
"Wow! Triton, this is amazing! Just how good are you at this?!" my daughter asked. "Did your grandmother teach you this much? I-I had no idea…"
"Grandma taught me a lot!" Triton nodded. "I can fight!"
