Earth's Alpha Prime

Chapter 341: Naming the Faction

With Jay being the last participant to finish his challenge, he stood alone on the Colosseum ground.

The final scores were displayed, along with the rankings of the Top-25 teams. Unsurprisingly, the Earth Team claimed the undisputed first place with an overwhelming total of 1.01 billion points.

Trailing behind them was Yinad's team in second place, followed by the Lycanthropes, Atlans, Horned Beetles, and other teams—all of whom had already pledged allegiance to Jay's faction. This included Zeix's team.

The remaining teams in the Top-25 were those who had yet to join Jay's faction. Though they had performed well in Round-1, even teams that had initially ranked lower now surpassed them.

A clear pattern emerged: teams aligned with Jay's faction were achieving higher rankings, a detail that did not go unnoticed by anyone present.

With the entire audience watching in anticipation, Jay remained in the same spot as he addressed them. His calm yet commanding voice carried weight, amplified by Vorqen's Sound Innate Talent, allowing everyone to hear him clearly without the need to raise his tone.

"You all must have heard of my faction in one way or another," Jay began, his words cutting through the air like a blade. "Now, I want to officially announce its existence and open it for recruitment."

A wave of commotion swept across the Colosseum. Excitement and curiosity buzzed among the participants. Many were thrilled at the possibility of joining the faction of the strongest Alpha Chosen, while others wondered if they would even qualify, fearing the requirements might be too stringent or beyond their reach.

Sensing the varied thoughts of the crowd, Jay decided to address their concerns head-on. He continued in a steady tone.

"For those of you who aren't familiar, my faction is structured into three divisions: the Core Circle, the Inner Circle, and the Outer Circle. Each division has its own requirements, and the higher the circle, the stricter the criteria."

Many in the Colosseum felt disheartened by Jay's initial words, but his next statement reignited their hope.

"Which is why," Jay announced, his voice steady and resonant, "I now declare the creation of a fourth division: the Initiate Circle. Anyone can join my faction as an Initiate, regardless of their strength. Even those who are still at Tier-2 are welcome."

The moment those words left his lips, a surge of enthusiasm spread through the Colosseum. Even the weakest participants, who had previously resigned themselves to being left out, found themselves filled with renewed determination.

With the crowd's spirits lifted, Jay continued, "Now that this is established, let me outline the requirements for joining the other three divisions."

He paused for a moment, giving the spectators time to absorb his words, before beginning with the Outer Circle.

"To join the Outer Circle," he explained, "one must possess the strength of at least Tier-3 Mid-Phase."

A collective gasp rippled through the audience. Less than half of the participants met this requirement, leaving many disappointed but motivated. Those who did qualify straightened their backs with anticipation, eager to hear the criteria for the higher circles.

Jay's gaze swept across the crowd as he continued, "To join the Inner Circle, the requirements are more stringent. One must either rank in the Top-1000 power rankings for three consecutive days or be a Sigil Holder."

This time, the crowd's reaction was even louder. Gasps of astonishment echoed throughout the Colosseum as they processed the difficulty of maintaining a Top-1000 ranking for three days straight.

It was no easy feat, and many marveled at the exclusivity of this division. Yet, no one questioned Jay's judgment or dared to ask for leniency. His requirements, while demanding, were seen as a reflection of his high standards.

Jay delivered his next words with calm authority, his voice cutting through the murmur of the crowd. "Finally, for the highest division, the Core Circle: only those who rank in the Top-100 power rankings for three consecutive days or a few Sigil Holders handpicked by me are eligible."

The requirements for the Core Circle stunned the crowd into silence. Barely ten members in the entire Colosseum met the Top-100 criteria, excluding those who had already joined Jay's faction. Even they were taken aback by how selective this division was.

However, what intrigued everyone—especially those in the top rankings—was the mention of Sigil Holders. Jay's repeated emphasis on this special title sparked curiosity. Everyone wanted to know more about what it meant to be a Sigil Holder and how they might earn such a coveted position.

Jay paused, observing the mix of reactions: awe, ambition, and reverence. The weight of his words had set the stage, and now the Colosseum buzzed with renewed determination and excitement.

Jay then shifted to a topic he had deliberately kept vague until now—his Innate Talent. However, he was careful to only reveal specific details related to the Origin Sigils.

"For those who may not know, my Innate Talent allows me to grant three types of Sigils to individuals of my choosing. The rarity of these Sigils determines their strength. The higher the rarity, the stronger the holder becomes. These Sigils not only empower the holders but also strengthen me. I gain access to their abilities, which is largely why I am as strong as I am today."

He paused, letting the significance of his words sink in before continuing, "Of course, like any Innate Talent, mine has its limitations. I can grant Sigils to only a limited number of individuals, and not many with similar Innate Talents can receive them. As for who I choose to become Sigil Holders, I will personally inform them during the Round-2 break. I won't force anyone—whether to accept the Sigil or not will ultimately be your decision."

Jay made a point to address any potential concerns, adding, "Unlike Urzo, I have no control over those who receive my Sigils. The only restriction I can impose is to limit their abilities if they ever try to harm me."

The Colosseum buzzed with astonishment. Many found it hard to believe that Jay would so openly reveal the nature of his Innate Talent. In the Trial World, such knowledge was often guarded fiercely, as it could easily be exploited by others. Yet, Jay had shared it with them without hesitation.

For a while, wild rumors and speculation about Jay's abilities had been circulating, dismissed by many as fanciful exaggerations. But hearing it directly from him silenced all doubt. The crowd marveled at the godlike nature of his Innate Talent, which essentially allowed him to use numerous Innate Talent abilities.

To them, it now made sense why Jay was so extraordinarily powerful. Even without knowing the finer details of how the Sigils worked, they could envision his strength growing exponentially as more Sigil Holders joined his ranks. Many began to hope, some even praying that they would be among those chosen to bear a Sigil.

Jay outlined the facilities available to members of his faction, explaining that contributions would be rewarded with Reward Points, which could be used to obtain valuable resources and grow stronger.

He also added that with enough contributions, members could rise to higher circles within the faction, bypassing the previously mentioned requirements.

The crowd's excitement continued to build as Jay's words painted a vision of growth, and opportunity.

For the teams in the Colosseum—especially those in the Top-25, Jay's words held an undeniable allure. The benefits of joining his faction were becoming impossible to ignore.

Even the few teams that had remained skeptical were now reconsidering, the thought of joining his faction steadily taking root in their minds.

Once Jay finished outlining the benefits, he moved on to something more profound—his goals, his faction's purpose, and the name of the faction that even those already in it were unaware of.

"There's something called the Orion Constellation visible from my home planet," Jay began, his voice steady but charged with conviction. "A belt of stars that represents hunters. It reminds me of us—thrown into a world where we must grow stronger by hunting monsters or die trying.."

His gaze swept across the crowd, his words resonating deeply. "As the first ones chosen from our respective planets, we carry the immense responsibility of protecting our homes. We are the Vanguard, the pioneers our planets to traverse the Trial World. I believe it is up to us to make it a better place for those who will follow in our footsteps."

Jay's voice grew firm with conviction as he declared, "I hereby name my faction Orion Vanguard."

The name Orion Vanguard echoed through the Colosseum, reverberating not just in the air but in the hearts of the Alpha Chosen. It struck a chord with them, a reflection of their shared struggle.

Every single one of them had faced the relentless monsters upon arriving in the Trial World, fighting for survival day after day. Many still fought to stay alive in their Trial Zones, their lives an unending battle against the creatures that roamed freely.

Jay continued, his tone unwavering. "To all who join the Orion Vanguard, know this: our primary goal is simple but vital. Grow as strong as you possibly can. Prepare yourselves to defend your home planets from the inevitable System Assimilation and the monster invasions that come with it."

The Colosseum fell silent, his words heavy with meaning. Everyone understood the stakes. With his message conveyed, Jay ended with a final, bold proclamation.

"This is just the beginning," he declared, his voice carrying a commanding weight. "I intend to expand the Orion Vanguard across all remaining nine continents of the Trial World. I don't mind if sub-factions emerge, but at the end of it all, there will be only one united faction: Orion Vanguard!"

For a moment, the crowd was silent, then erupted into thunderous cheers as a wave of excitement swept through the Colosseum. The name and mission of Orion Vanguard struck a chord with the Alpha Chosen, igniting within them a spark of hope, ambition, and renewed determination.
