"What's wrong?"
As Yu Yuan walked ahead, he seemed to notice that Lin Sanjiu had stopped. He turned his head and looked at her. Veda weren't supposed to have emotions, so maybe it was just her imagination, but she could almost see a hint of confusion in his expression. "Why did you stop? We need to leave here quickly."
Lin Sanjiu nodded. "I know... Maybe it's because I haven't slept for days. I just blanked out for a moment."
"The human body is quite inconvenient," Yu Yuan remarked, turning back to continue down the corridor. He pointed ahead at a spot where the ceiling had been broken open, allowing daylight to pour in. "I entered from there. The subspace barrier surrounding Chimeric City couldn't stop me. I've already neutralized it."
That was good. At least she wouldn't have to rely on Advaita's spatial crossing ability to get out... Lin Sanjiu closed her eyes tightly for a moment, waiting for the haze in her mind to clear.

What had just happened? It felt like she had skipped a scene—
She really was reaching her limit. For a brief instant, she couldn't even recall what had happened before, how she had ended up walking through Chimeric City with Yu Yuan. Rubbing her temples, her memory gradually returned.
After spotting the group of biohazard-suited people, Lin Sanjiu had quietly observed them for a while before making her move. Her goal was destruction—to force the real forces behind the Shark Nexus into the open. So, she had held nothing back. Within a few moments, she had taken down the biohazard-suited posthumans. Every part of her body became a weapon, and anything she touched shattered like it had been hit by artillery fire. By the time she was done turning an entire corridor into debris, the enemy hadn't even had the chance to call for help.
The person on the other end of the radio, however, quickly noticed something was wrong. "Hello? What's happening over there? Report!"Lin Sanjiu treated their frantic questioning as background noise to her destruction. Only when there was nothing left to smash did she finally grab the surviving radio. Just as she was about to speak, the radio buzzed sharply. The previous voice was cut off, replaced by another.
"Lin Sanjiu?" It was Yu Yuan. "That's you, isn't it? You came to Chimeric City? I saw Exodus hovering above the city, so I came too."

Even now, the memory of that moment made Lin Sanjiu's skin tingle with excitement.
Seeing Yu Yuan again felt like an entire lifetime had passed. In her excitement, she didn't even care about how the Veda might react. She rushed forward and pulled him into an embrace. Even the unsettling, skin-like humanoid container he carried, filled with the grand prize, Han Suiping, and Nu Yue, seemed almost endearing in that moment.
"Let's get back to Exodus first," they quickly decided. "The Shark Nexus will probably be here soon. It's better to observe from the air."
Perhaps because of Yu Yuan's presence, their return to Exodus was surprisingly smooth. But after waiting for hours inside the ship, Lin Sanjiu began to notice something strange—Chimeric City remained eerily quiet. No one had come after them.
"Could it be that those biohazard-suited guys never reported back? That's impossible... I destroyed a whole section of their operation and occupied their base..." Lin Sanjiu muttered as she paced in circles. "How come not even that old woman has shown up?"
They waited until the next day before finally spotting a flying vehicle approaching Chimeric City.
Lin Sanjiu, having held back her desire for battle all day, felt the flames of anticipation roar to life. She was ready to leap off Exodus and kick whoever the Shark Nexus had sent straight into the smog layer below. But when the ship's image cleared on the screen, she froze in place.
It wasn't an enemy warship but a taxi. An ordinary air taxi, its roof clearly displaying the word TAXI.
"The Shark Nexus is this cheap?" Yu Yuan asked.
That can't be right.
Not only did they arrive in an air taxi, but that taxi boldly and familiarly attached itself right to the belly of Exodus. Not only that, but Silas even opened the door for it without hesitation.
"Because he has clearance," Silas declared righteously when questioned by its master.
As Lin Sanjiu watched the tall figure with golden hair approaching from the distance, there was a brief moment where she genuinely wondered if she was dreaming. ℞₳ΝO͍ВЕṤ

"Pinch me," she told Yu Yuan.
The Veda showed no mercy. The pain was sharp, precise, and utterly real. If she had been dreaming before, she was wide awake now.

When Lin Sanjiu lifted her gaze to Silvan, he clearly misunderstood the glimmer in her eyes.
"I missed you too," Silvan said, somewhere between a laugh and tears. His emerald-green eyes were so dazzlingly bright they seemed to reflect sunlight straight into a person's heart. Just looking at him filled her with the warmth of a midsummer day. "I never expected you to chase after the Queen all this way..."
"Wait a second. I know why I'm here, but why are you here?" Lin Sanjiu said, completely lost.
"Weren't you tracking the Queen to find me?" Silvan looked just as confused.
"I was planning to follow the Queen's trail to find you..." Lin Sanjiu answered awkwardly, "but we ended up getting trapped in a pocket dimension because of it. When we got out, we were already in Cloudwalk Heights."
Silvan chuckled. "Ah, a spatial-type pocket dimension, then? The Queen passed through it as well. Looks like we all ended up in Cloudwalk Heights. If you hadn't parked Exodus on top of an entire city, I never would have known we were in the same world."
If there was one particularly smart and correct decision Lin Sanjiu had made, it was broadcasting her location so openly. Not long after Silvan arrived, another spacecraft brought a distress message from Cyrus. He had been trapped in a pocket dimension and had only barely managed to find someone to relay a message to the outside world. By the time she and Silvan had retrieved Cyrus and brought him back to Exodus, Xie Feng was already hovering in mid-air, waiting for her.

"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not here to join you," Xie Feng said earnestly. "I just want to make them uneasy."
"What does it matter?" Lin Sanjiu couldn't help but laugh. "I'll have Silas make you something delicious!"
As it turned out, Xie Feng had an unexpected talent for cooking. This so-called "genius of slaughter" quickly became a genius of butchering on Exodus. She had an uncanny knack for preparing chicken dishes in particular. If she had one flaw, it was that despite her skill, she stubbornly refused to cook very often.
Every morning, Lin Sanjiu patrolled the skies over Chimeric City like an old official on inspection rounds. One day, while attempting to reclaim her flying vehicle, she happened to discover Eight-Heads De, who had been trapped outside the city in a subspace barrier. That evening, as they all sat together in the dining hall, even she couldn't quite believe it. So many of her companions had gathered aboard Exodus. Everyone she had hoped to find in Cloudwalk Heights was here. What more could she ask for? Sometimes, she even felt like she should be thanking the Shark Nexus.

She never expected that her dreams had still been too small.
"I was thinking," Silvan said one day, "since you want to reunite with even more of your people and you don't plan on letting the Shark Nexus off the hook, why not have them come here using the Great Deluge Jump service? Isn't Cloudwalk Heights about to experience a Great Deluge?"
