Chapter 4235 Intensive Search
Davis and the others stayed low for the time being while the Heaven's Warriors scoured the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm, searching every place. They mainly concentrated on the places where the calamities happened.
Fortunately, nothing happened near their Second Void Dust Sanctuary.
The matter of Heaven's Warrior Yubin being 'stuck' in a spatial cavity also reached their ears since the Quake Fist Sect reported.
All sects had the obligation to report strange or dangerous activities after all.
However, no Heaven's Warrior paid attention to it.
It wasn't only Heaven's Warrior Yubin they concentrated on, as there were many missing Heaven's Warriors who were trapped in dangerous locations or even dead while conducting their search. However, the case of Heaven's Warrior Yubin was different since it happened at the same place Fairy Runalise was located.
Since she was there, they felt help was unneeded and continued scouring the lands and skies. If they had focused on Heaven's Warrior Rubin, perhaps they would've found the Divine Emperor of Death by now.
The Venerable Hollow Knight did not doubt that Fairy Runalise was hiding such a big matter from him. Instead, he was pissed by her indifferent attitude and didn't want anything to do with her. He forbade hearing about her at all and intended to send her back to the Upper Realms to reflect on her mistakes.
However, he couldn't care less right now since searching for what caused these calamities was his utmost priority.
Two more Venerable Knights joined the search.
They were none other than Venerable Knight Foredawn, who was in the Verdant Vale Lower Realm, and Venerable Knight Lussandra, who was in the Starlight Jade Wolf Lower Realm.
It was already dangerous that one Venerable Knight was here, but two more joined the ranks.
Davis could only laugh at that, wondering when he would be found. On one hand, he very much wanted to battle it out with them. After all, staying in one place is not going to rapidly improve his techniques. Only through battles could he have a rapid progression, but on the other hand, he wished to live these ten years peacefully for the sake of his family.
He couldn't have both, so he stayed his hand and let fate take its course.
Even Mingzhi finally adopted a non-battle lifestyle since she wholly wanted to focus on Tianyu. Not only was she imploring him to stay and sit somewhere in the home, but she was still hounding him to look for a suitable partner for her son, making him speechless.
This would be akin to child marriage, so he was against it, but considering it involved Tianyu's future, he was also at a fence. Besides, Tianyu would more or less become a dual cultivator in the future, so Mingzhi wanted him to stick with one or very few women even more than normal. She was afraid he would go astray.
He could understand Mingzhi's worry, but he felt hurrying it wasn't going to do any favors. Then again, Tianyu would grow up soon since he would be put in a class with his fellow siblings. They would grow up soon in the time chambers, and when they enter the Immortal Stage, Tianyu would be left out. Even Arc might enter the Immortal Stage quickly due to the wealth they possess, leaving behind Tianyu.
Davis didn't want Tianyu to feel sad, so he also felt the need to do something quickly but was also at a loss, not knowing if Mingzhi's plan was good for him. There were too many factors to consider.
Nonetheless, the fact that Venerable Knight Foredawn was here instead of securing the Verdant Vale Lower Realm made Davis feel like it was bait. After all, he publicly announced that he was going take the Verdant Vale Realm Core for himself, so he felt like they were baiting him to do so.
Otherwise, he felt like he wouldn't have heard their names since they would keep their investigations a secret, but now, they were announcing it like they were heroes.
Davis found this behavioral change among them suspicious.
Still, he didn't do anything since there were many things to take care of. He would conquer the Verdant Vale Lower Realm sooner or later, so there was no need for haste.
He was about to enter seclusion when Fairy Runalise visited their realm.
"Bold of you to come here after what you tried to do."
Davis blocked her path at the entrance as he coldly uttered. She hovered as her black hair flailed in the wind. Clad in a blue robe, she looked as stunning as ever. Her white veil also swayed ever so lightly, giving off a serene feel.
"Then feel free to kill me and be done with it." Fairy Runalise did not seem scared as she uttered calmly.
In fact, she looked at him with a weary gaze, her white eyes looking a bit soulless, making Davis wonder if she got tired of all the shenanigans he made her go through. He supposed she did feel tired and disappointed with herself. After all, she lied, did not expose him, and still kept quiet.
He knew it must be irking her heart to no end but didn't know how much it affected her, but he could now see it wasn't small.
Her voice also sounded more pleading than bold, as though she came here to be mercy killed by him, but he doubted she wanted that.
"Fairy Runalise, I am aware you are a Heaven's Warrior and will do what it takes to kill me if you can, so I don't blame you, but… do you really want my people to also get killed? What wrong did they do?"
Davis shook his head as though disappointed, "If you're going to say then they shouldn't be with me, then I guess I really can't convince you or any other Heaven's Warriors. It seems like killing each other till the end is truly our only fate."
"…"
Fairy Runalise didn't respond. A few seconds later, her lips moved, "Were these calamities your fault?"
"You could say so." Davis nodded, not hiding it.
"Do you know the casualties numbered over thirty million?"
"I am aware."
"Your small family compared to that thirty million. I think you know what the correct answer is."
Fairy Runalise coldly spoke, causing Davis to-
