Time passed.
Shimei's figure was utterly covered in red as her blood oozed out in some areas, and her veins were bulging all over her body. She almost turned into her magical beast form a few times, but each time, she managed to hold herself back, exuding great tenacity and endurance.
Three hours later, the blinding white light from Davis's hands receded as he stopped the technique.
He took back his hands, his entire body appearing to be covered in sweat. Although the energy he used up wasn't large, the focus he required to refine each layer of the heart was extensive and back-breaking.
He heaved a sigh and leaned back with his hands on the surface, "Phew, it's a success."
"…"
Saintess Lunaria shuddered. She could see it was a success since Shimei was radiating King-Tier aura now.
Shimei's face was filled with the sight of tears, but right now, she looked quite determined and authoritative as she stood up and turned into a Nine Lives Gracious Fox.
The fox's body was covered in pure, scintillating white fur, but her runes to the sides were no longer just silver but also golden. Her surviving six silvery tails beautifully waved in the air as they caressed Davis's face, leaving him feeling like he was in heaven.
"Lunaria~"Shimei abruptly leaped towards Saintess Lunaria, her voice so delighted and joyous that she practically pounced around her without being able to stop.
"Stop." Saintess Lunaria laughed, "Where are your manners? You have yet to thank the one who made this possible."
"Thank you, big brother!~" Shimei voiced out, her tone still joyous as though she was without a care in the world.
"Big brother?"
Saintess Lunaria raised one of her brows. It seemed like he gained Shimei's respect and adoration for her to call him that. It was unknown what kind of soul transmission he kept sending her to keep her consciousness intact during the whole process.
Nonetheless, Saintess Lunaria looked at him thankfully.
"I'm grateful. If you need any kind of help, let me know."
"Stop it." Davis chuckled, "I'm still indebted to you, Saintess Lunaria. This is nothing, and it has even become a good training for me. It's the first time I used it, after all."
"…"
Saintess Lunaria blinked. Just how confident was this man? His entire aura changed, or rather, his demeanor changed after he entered the Immortal Emperor Stage. It was as though nothing could stop him in this layer.
Davis opened his eyes and stood up, "Bloodline Impelling Evolution is now something Shimei should be able to use, but I advise against it as she will use up three tails, leaving her with three out of nine tails. I heard that a King-Tier Nine Lives Gracious Fox is still unable to regenerate their tails, so it's dangerous."
"Don't worry. I'm not mad enough to risk her pride or life for no reason."
Saintess Lunaria giggled, "But I wouldn't decline if you were to teach me the technique. I know I'd pay a lot for it."
"I'm sure you would, Saintess." Davis chuckled, "But I can end our debt with that. Only— I do not have the time to teach you now, and I wouldn't call it a technique as it's not refined enough, but I can probably impart it when we meet next time."
"What a tease…" Saintess Lunaria turned to look away and pouted as she muttered.
"…"
Davis raised his brows. He sensed an opportunity to flirt but took a step back and cupped his hands, bowing with respect.
"Then I will take my leave with my friends."
"Will wish for your fortune."
Saintess Lunaria also cupped her hands. Today, she was full of joy as she managed to save him, and in return, he made Shimei a King-Tier Nine Lives Gracious Fox, which meant the key to unlocking her next bloodline rank was finally obtained.
Now, it was her domain. She had the confidence to let Shimei enter the Empyrean Beast Stage.
Davis soon left after he exchanged a few methods to contact each other. He gathered his friends and exited.
Outside, Wix Voidfield was there to send him away.
She took him outside the forest and made it to the edge of the Faint Rain Minor Realm.
"I hope you have a safe return journey."
At the edge of the realm, Wix Voidfield spoke with concern.
"I will. The danger has mostly passed from how silent it is here." Davis joked, causing Wix Voidfield to smile.
"Will you not come with us?" Davis abruptly invited.
It caused Wix Voidfield to look taken aback before she shook her head.
"Like you need Stella, my master also needs me for my realm creation ability. I cannot leave her behind."
"I see." Davis smiled, "Then, in the future, we'll try to think of methods to integrate Stella and your mini realms so that both of you have access to enter each other's mini-realm as you please. With that, we'll be more connected."
"Davis…" Wix Voidfield looked moved.
She naturally wanted to be together with her daughter, but with the way the world moved, she affixed in her mind that it was not possible. However, with how Davis repeatedly offered her to reunite with Stella, she couldn't help but be moved.
"If one day we can be together, then I would be the happiest mother tree in the universe."
She lowered her head and opened her mouth, her voice flowing with sincerity.
"Of course, I never intend to separate in-laws. A few of my wives' in-laws are also living with us."
Davis displayed a set of bright white teeth as he gave a thumbs up before he waved his hand and turned around.
"If you do come closer, please do visit. Stella would be very happy, and needless to say, I will be happy as well."
He flew out and joined up with his friends before taking off.
Wix Voidfield pursed her lips, feeling her heart ache as she smiled at him. Her daughter had found a wonderful man for herself, so why can't she?
The urge to experience love swelled within her, but it seemed like her words didn't make an impact on him, making her guess she should've been more direct. Nonetheless, she couldn't help but look forward to meeting him again already.
However, she suddenly couldn't help but frown.
She saw him returning as though he was frantic.
"Sorry, Senior Wix. Earlier this day, I went through the spatial rings and found some great treasures. I forgot to give you this gift that I plundered from one of the Heaven's Warriors. He seemed to be a space attribute Autarch, although I killed him in one blow."
Davis gave her an Empyrean-Grade Space-Attributed Herb that seemed to be glowing with the insights of space. He chuckled as he saw her turn speechless, unable to utter a word.
With a scenic goodbye with a wave of his hand, he coolly left.
"Wait…"
However, before he could even make it halfway back, Wix Voidfield voiced out.
Davis turned around, expecting thanks, but he froze in space as her lips connected with his. Wix Voidfield held his cheeks and gave him a searing kiss. Her lips didn't move, but she gave him a deep kiss that lasted over five seconds straight before flying off somewhere, leaving Davis petrified.
"What the fuck!? You-"
It wasn't Davis but Fenren who shouted and cursed him for having too much luck with women. Why wasn't he blessed with such a scenario with Senior Shimei instead?
On the other hand, Davis wanted to go chase Wix Voidfield, wondering what this was all about. Just a reward for a treasure? Or did she have him in her heart?
He couldn't tell what a tree that had lived for millions of years was exactly thinking, wishing that he had used Enigmatic Heart Laws on her instead of staring into space over the weight of the situation.
He waited for a minute, hoping for her to return and explain herself.
However, Wix Voidfield didn't, and she was nowhere to be found even with a sweep of his senses, leaving him with little choice but to leave. If he stayed here any longer, he might rely on Saintess Lunaria's disciples' might instead and laze around. He could not afford to wait any longer.
In the distance, far away from the hideout in another direction, Wix Voidfield finally appeared out from the void. She seemed to be out of breath, her big bosoms heaving crazily as she touched her lips, wondering what the heck she did out of impulse.
It was almost as if she wished to integrate with him right there, a feeling she would experience upon undergoing the urge to create a fruit with life like Stella. That process also felt good, but this kiss was even more amazing. She felt like wanting to kiss again but shook her head, knowing she must stay with her master and keep her safe, as that was her utmost priority.
Davis soon left the perimeter of the Faint Rain Minor Realm, heading south as he made it to the Azure Tree Lower Realm, but because he was as strong as an Empyrean, he skipped the realm entirely, traversing in an arc as he used the realm's circumference. During this time, he also managed to hear about Clara and what became of her.
On the other hand, he didn't get caught and made it all the way back south despite all doubts and speculations until he finally made contact with his avatar.
