Chapter 2450 Zenflame Clan
Zora Luan's expression twitched. She didn't turn to look as even without seeing, she recognized the owner of this voice.
It was a man wearing a crimson robe with fire phoenix patterns. His eyes were boldly shaped, and his lips curved into a bright smile. His nose was high, indicating that he could have a lot of pride, and Davis did sense the Fire Phoenix's aura radiating from him.
However, he also frowned as he saw that it was another Immortal King.
If more and more people kept appearing, he would find it difficult to traverse here. Just as he was about to leave silently, that crimson-robed man abruptly stopped, moving towards Myria before he appeared before her.
"Young Miss, it's my honor to be capable of coincidentally meeting a new true disciple. I am Tegon Zenflame, a core disciple of the Aurora Cloud Gate. However, if I may be so bold, can I know what your magnificent name is?"
He cupped his hands and looked very sincere as he had spoken before. However…
"What extreme sincerity? He's already flirting with another woman."
Zora Luan rolled her eyes as she mumbled, her expression turning into one of derision behind her veil.
'Zenflame? The Fire Phoenix Clan's main magical beast branch?' Davis narrowed his brows.
Flamerose also had the name Zahara Zenflame, so he could tell that the Zenflame Clan was probably the main branch of the Fire Phoenix Clan.
Myria didn't bother to answer. She only gave a look and ignored Tegon Zenflame. However, that didn't cause his smile to fade. It could be seen that he was tenacious or, perhaps, used to this matter.
"Hmph. Tegon, I see you have yet to step into the Immortal King Beast Stage. Are you sure that you do not want a beating from me to have shamelessly appeared before me?"
Zora Luan turned around and pointed at his face, her aura climbing as it suppressed everything around her, including Davis and Myria, causing them to furrow their brows. However, they could sense that it wasn't directed at them but Tegon, causing them to move away from the two of them.
"Ha! You thought I would be foolish enough to abandon my cultivation when I haven't even received your true answer yet? How laughable. Zora, I gave you a chance to reconcile with my Fire Phoenix Clan, but you don't want to take it."
Tegon laughed before he shrugged, "That's fine."
"The reason why I came out was that I was disturbed out of my seclusion for a noblewoman called Zahara Zenflame. I have to go receive her from the easternmost branch of our Aurora Cloud Gate."
"Zahara Zenflame? Was there someone like that?" Zora Luan narrowed her brows.
"I don't know her as well." Tegon shook his head, "I just received word from my Zenflame Family, and apparently, she has some kind of illegitimate history which caused her to live in the dark, but now that the Clan Mistress was decided, she is let go of, free to do as she pleases."
"In any case, what do you have in mind about my proposal? Don't run away."
"Who ran away? How many times would I have to say to you that I'm not interested?"
"Truly?" Tegon paused as he smiled, "This matter may very well concern your family in the end."
Zora Luan's expression fell, "Are you threatening me!?"
"Hehe, decide that for yourself, but if you think you can hide behind the graces of my Aurora Cloud Gate, you're very wrong. For a bunch of strangers, you shouldn't have done that, and speaking of strangers, I heard that you also recruited a heavenly genius. Is that supposed to be that outer disciple? Pftt~ Ahahaha!- Oh…?"
Tegon laughed as he pointed at Davis, but then he finally noticed Ellia in his shadow, causing him to blink as he turned to look at Myria, finding that their eyes were very similar, yet their auras were different.
Moreover, noticing that they both had true disciple emblems, his eyes couldn't help but bulge before a bit of animosity seeped out his eyes.
"Useless outer disciple. How dare you hold onto a true disciple just because you fear our aura, taking advantage of this situation to blaspheme her? Let go of her hand at once!"
*Bzzz!~*
His undulations surged, revealing Level Nine Immortal Beast Stage undulations but were deep and profound with at least a few levels higher prowess. But then, his overwhelming undulations were abruptly suppressed an even more terrifying aura surged and washed over him, causing him to tremble.
"Shut the hell up and leave before I kill you, Tegon." Zora Luan's voice was ice-cold as she raised her hands, "Today, you're not harming even a single strand of hair on my junior brother's body."
Tegon's expression turned unsightly, his expression twitching before he turned to look at Davis.
"Consider yourself lucky."
He spat out from his clenched teeth and awkwardly curved lips before turning towards Myria.
"Young Miss, our first meeting may have been unpleasant, but if an opportunity presents itself again, let us exchange knowledge about the law of cultivation."
He cupped his hands and bowed his head. Without looking again, he turned around and left as swiftly as he came.
Zora Luan's body trembled with rage, but she slowly calmed as she turned to look at Davis.
"…!"
Instantly, she couldn't help but feel her heart skip a beat as she looked at his piercing eyes looking into the distance. It was the direction Tegon left, causing her to blink with some surprise as she renewed her opinion of Feng Chu.
'Perhaps his prowess may be low, but his experience certainly is not...' She imagined, feeling somewhat better about herself, that her eyes weren't wrong.
"I apologize about that hooligan." She spoke up, "Now then, shall I lead you to your humble residence in the easternmost branch, or are you going to apply for a change of branch or residence with these two beauties?"
Zora Luan's words caused Davis to turn to look at her. However, he didn't smile.
"How should I go about promoting myself to higher ranks?"
"That is… you can challenge an inner disciple of equal cultivation and win against them in the Proving Grounds. However, be careful. If someone suspected you of cheating of any kind, then you can be forced to fight against a puppet where you have to prove yourself worthy at least once before you can shut them up."
"I see." Davis cupped his hands and bowed slightly, "Then I'll trouble senior sister with bringing me to the battle arena where I can challenge such disciples."
"…"
Zora Luan felt strange. He kept smiling and poking fun, but why was he acting so solemn all of a sudden?
Nonetheless, she nodded her head, "Fine. Let's go."
She turned around and led him to the Proving Grounds. Myria and Ellia also followed. The only place they knew here was the location of their residences that was recorded on their status plates.
They intended to set up their residences first, and so did Ellia, as she planned to make him the master of her residence unofficially, but then, seeing that Davis could obtain his own residence if he got promoted, they slightly changed their plans, wanting to see how it would go.
Soon enough, before them was a floating island where there were no residences but purely disciples walking and flying around, and at the center were four arenas in four corners.
They had arrived at the Proving Grounds.
