Chapter 2427 Fierce Battle
*Swish!~* *Swish!~* *Swish!~*
Davis's pupils reflected a scarlet-black manifestation of a monster rabbit. It was a beautiful creature, but its pitch-black eyes were terrifying as they appeared before him, slashing out its black claws as overwhelming pressure sought to destroy his Will.
*Puchi!~*
Davis made a stabbing motion and cut through, letting the armor take the brunt of the rabbit's annihilative heavenly lightning. It ripped a part of his heavenly firestorm armor, but its claws were also damaged, disappearing as the wind.
However, his eye for an eye action won him a victory as his Spear of Damnation stabbed through its head.
With a swing of his arm, he ripped apart its head, leaving the reincarnation energy to deal massive damage to the rabbit's Will. It visibly shook as though it was going to collapse, but then suddenly, its body split into two, becoming two rabbits.
"…!" Davis felt alarmed.
'Weak attack power but splitting into multiple entities…? Crap, it's a calamity if I don't kill it soon...'
But before he could attack again, another Paragon Magical Beast was already upon him, pouncing like a tigress hidden in the bushes.
"Hmph!"
Davis coldly harrumphed as he launched himself towards the rabbits, whereupon he used the Spear of Damnation on one of its heads again.
*Ripp!~*
The iridescent black and white spear blade cut through the rabbit head cleanly, just as it took form. He was able to escape from the tiger in doing so but not from the dauntless ox that rammed into him from the side.
*Bang!~*
Davis was sent flying from the monstrous annihilative impact exploding on him. It was a direct hit, but the head of the giant ox also burst apart with an iridescent spear impaled on it.
It was the Spear of Damnation, causing the Will of the ox to simply be erased out of existence. As a result, its scarlet-black body began cracking all over the place before it burst apart like porcelain.
Although Davis was unharmed, as the impact only cost him a part of his heavenly firestorm armor and earth barrier, his internals shook crazily, almost having him spit out blood. At the same time, he was annoyed he only managed to kill two of the twelve Paragon Magical Beasts that descended, making him feel slightly numb as to how he was going to kill the others.
As he flew towards the ground in repositioning, he could see a fifth Paragon Magical Beast appearing in the corner of his view. It was a slithering scarlet serpent. The moment he saw its pitch-black eyes, he felt pulled into a timeless void.
Everything became frozen in his vision, but the scarlet-black serpent alone moved.
'Move… move…!'
Davis tried to move, but it was of no use. Even his chaotic energy was moving very slow in his meridians, disallowing him to even form a counterattack. As he saw the slithering serpent opening its giant maw in order to swallow him, his scalp couldn't help but turn numb.
"Break…"
He tried to open his mouth and scream like a dragon when a meek voice came out. Abruptly, the control he possessed over his body returned but not having enough time to counterattack, he abandoned his heavenly firestorm armor as it came off like liquid metal and kicked it into the giant maw of the serpent, using the momentum to thrust himself towards the side.
*Bam!~*
The serpent closed its jaw to trap Davis, but what it trapped was a heavenly firestorm armor. It sizzled inside, seemingly on the brink of igniting into a terrible explosion.
"Explode!" Davis shoved his middle finger up into the air at the serpent when it abruptly swelled.
*Booom!~*
The serpent was blasted apart, and the resulting annihilative strands of heavenly lightning, along with the destructive firestorm, exploded all over the place as it created a spatial fissure between him and the tiger and the three rabbits, causing them to stop.
*Rumble!~*
Scarlet-black lightning crackled underneath the dark clouds as though it was laughing.
Davis appeared above the ground, back to square one, as he was beaten back to his position in retreat. His expression was unsightly as he gazed at the Paragon Magical Beasts that appeared like they were watching a show, still remaining at their places with incomparably high and arrogant expressions on their faces.
Watching them tower over him made his heart inevitably feel rage.
Moreover, he was genuinely angered as he thought that he had almost died while receiving the serpent's attack. Although he couldn't understand the intricacies behind it, he somehow knew that it was a Time Law attack.
It had somehow managed to catch him in place as it caught him off-guard. If he was even a second late, he would've been swallowed into its annihilative heavenly lightning stomach. Although he guessed that he wouldn't have died instantly, he would've taken heavy damage, to say the least.
Fortunately, he was able to break out of its binding within time.
Moreover, he couldn't help but feel that the rabbit signified the power of softness and multiplication, the power of Yin, while about the tiger, he still didn't know but felt that it had a blazing intent and powerful explosive power to it as though it represented Yang.
'That also means the rat signified Space Laws...'
He began to calm down as he began to explore the way they attacked with their uniqueness.
The fact remained that none of them could suppress him as the dragon could with its tyrannical aura combined with the heavens, so he wasn't that intimidated by the other Paragon Magical Beasts. However, most of their attacks were left to be unexplored, especially the ones other than the five that had descended.
Recognizing the strengths and weaknesses, Davis spread his hands as essence energy and soul force surged out of his left hand and right hand, respectively. He didn't form a heavenly firestorm spear nor the Spear of Damnation as time was constrained with the tiger and the rabbit approaching him with their fast speed.
Instead, a long rod appeared before him, and end of the pole was a curved blade made up of reincarnation energy. Swirls of heavenly firestorm energy swirled upon it like climber leaves, giving it a blazing look when it was no more than
Taking the conjured heavenly firestorm scythe into his hand, his figure disappeared.
"Now that two of your comrades are out of the way, let's see if you two can take on speed..."
Quickly, he appeared before the brazen tiger and slashed down.
*Rip!!~*
Davis's forearm splashed with blood.
His chaotic-tempered body was finally wounded by the tiger, but the injury was only slightly deep as he managed to move slightly in time. Otherwise, he could've lost his arm. However, the tiger that slashed down with its claws wasn't so lucky as its head got slashed by the scythe.
But, the reincarnation scythe was stuck halfway through the neck, unable to fully slice through, and was suppressed!
*Roar!!!~*
The tiger roared and tried to pounce on him, but Davis had the swirls of heavenly firestorm energy explode, causing a little blast to stagger the tiger. The reincarnation scythe's blade became jagged upon the explosion, but with a twist of his arms and a swing, he successfully beheaded the tiger's Will, killing it in an instant.
At the same time, the rabbit was behind him, slashing with its claws while the two other rabbit splits pounced on him from the sides.
Davis didn't stop swinging the scythe. His eyes flickered with a maniacal gleam as he swung it behind him in an arc. The spinning reincarnation scythe produced many ripples in space before it stabbed right through the rabbit's head, killing its Will along with it.
However, the other two rabbits that were pouncing on him, not so much.
*Ripp!~*
A hand flew through the air. It was the same hand that was slashed by the tiger. At the same time, the two rabbits fell, annihilative red lightning abruptly stopping in the air as their manifestations began to disperse.
Davis held his severed arm as he hovered in the skies. Blood poured out of his forearm in copious amounts, but by clenching his teeth and strengthening his arm at the severed location, he was able to bring the bleeding to a stop as the muscles tightened inwardly.
It wasn't a last resort nor desperation that he chose to lose his forearm but a conservative effort because the tiger's annihilative heavenly lightning had pierced through his arm and was ravaging it, causing him to consider that it was better to lose it.
*Rumble!!!~*
An ominous wolf leaped, a fox slid over, a staunch turtle simply plunged, and a nine-headed hydra launched itself towards him.
Looking at four more Paragon Magical Beasts descend, Davis knew that there was no time for healing, much less fighting back, as his energy levels were less than fifteen percent except for his martial energy, which was still around twenty-five percent.
However, the way he saw it, wouldn't he die before he managed to face the last three manifestations?
Namely, the noble kirin, the majestic phoenix, and the imperial dragon!
