Next,

Su Lin took Xiao Hui and covered a vast range of the desolate Arctic Continent.

Still, they found nothing.

Beneath the Polar Night, all was lonely.

Su Lin stood on a snowy slope, looking around.

Apart from the layers of ice in the distance where the Northern Lights faintly twinkled, there were no signs of life elsewhere.

Eventually, Su Lin decided to go check out the ice layers.

The true hegemon of the Arctic Continent, the Polar Bear, often roamed in these ice layer regions.

Therefore, the frequency of Arctic Wolves in these parts wasn’t high.

However, food was relatively abundant at the ice layers due to marine life.

Walking across the vast Arctic Continent, Su Lin and Xiao Hui pressed on.

Soon,

Su Lin, atop the snowy slope, suddenly noticed a flickering light in the distance.

He halted his steps, his eyes glowing a ghostly green as he looked down from above.

Beside him, Xiao Hui also immediately crouched down, ready to attack.

After accompanying Su Lin many times, Xiao Hui had become quite adept at remaining alert and concealed.

The flickering light was something Xiao Hui didn’t recognize,

only the huge figure behind it, four or five meters in length.

Size dictated strength, and upon seeing this enormous creature, Xiao Hui felt a sinking feeling in his heart.

But Su Lin, standing on the snowy slope, wasn’t panicked at all.

He knew what it was.

An off-road vehicle,

it seemed to be the same one he had seen last time he was hunting Musk Oxen.

It was clear that the photographers inside were returning from filming on the ice layers.

To film beneath the Polar Night was to take a risk,

whether for a documentary or for studying the habits of wildlife, their dedication was commendable.

The off-road vehicle wasn’t moving slowly, bouncing along, and soon left Su Lin’s line of sight.

The people inside the vehicle hadn’t noticed Su Lin,

since he and Xiao Hui were standing on the snowy slope, with the advantage of height

and the cover of the pitch-black night made them hard to spot.

After the off-road vehicle left, Su Lin withdrew his gaze,

and with a low howl, called Xiao Hui to continue towards the ice layers.

In no time,

they arrived at the ice layers.

The site wasn’t pitch black like other places,

but featured many bands of Northern Lights in the sky.

The Northern Lights were very beautiful, constantly changing shapes,

sometimes like a ribbon, sometimes like a flame, and at times like a giant, multicolored silk screen.

Some were dazzling with endless variations of color,

some shone exceptionally bright, seeming to rival the stars and the moon in brilliance,

and even beyond the ice layers where specks of Northern Lights hung,

it seemed as if the distant horizon above the sea also bore Northern Lights, resembling the dawn of early morning.

Moreover, the colors of the Northern Lights were stunning—red, purple, green, blue, and more, creating a tapestry of lights.

Red Northern Lights were like Camellias in full bloom, a fiery red,

and there were purple Northern Lights, resembling drapes and curtains.

Of course, there were also the green rays of the Northern Lights that radiated far and wide.

These Northern Lights drifted lightly, fading in and out,

and at a glance, one couldn’t help but admire their magnificent splendor.

This was a beautiful panorama sketched by nature itself.

Many people once believed

that the beautiful Northern Lights were the divine lights opened by spirits in heaven to guide lost souls.

And beneath the beautiful Northern Lights,

Su Lin’s pair of eyes, glowing an eerie green, also spotted some animal shadows on the ice layers.

They were a group of seals.

The seals lazily gathered on the ice layers, numbering five or six.

Seals are also mammals, and if they were to raise their young, they’d need to be on the ice layers.

However, it was clear that this group had no pups,

which suggested they were just coming ashore to rest.

Species: Grey Seal.

Level: 8.

Qi-Blood: 1523.

Endurance: 91.

Strength: 63.

Defense: 59.

Speed: 51.

With just one glance, the seals’ Numerical Attributes appeared to Su Lin.

This group of seals was not very strong.

They usually fed on small fish and shrimp in the ocean, and their fighting abilities were weak.

Su Lin could take on the whole group by himself without a problem.

But he still didn’t move.

Because the seal was too close to the edge of the ice where it had broken through,

if he acted rashly, and the seals escaped, that would be the least of his worries.

If he was not careful and fell into the sea, that would be quite a spectacle.

Though Su Lin’s lungs had also been enhanced by the Potential Potion, allowing him to go without breathing for five to six minutes,

he did not take the risk.

It was still better to be safe than sorry.

Xiao Hui was visiting the ice floe for the first time and was obviously very excited.

But without the leader’s command, he did not bother the group of seals.

Instead, he hopped about on top of the ice floe,

even going over to another break in the ice floe and sticking out his tongue to lick and drink the seawater.

Xiao Hui, being an Arctic wolf and part of the land-based Wolf Clan,

couldn’t directly drink seawater due to its high salt content.

After a few licks, he found it too salty to continue drinking.

But Xiao Hui, lying on the ice floe,

spotted quite a few fish swimming beneath the ice.

“Awooo!”

Xiao Hui stretched out his paw and scooped several times, but failed to catch any.

Frustrated, he couldn’t help but let out a couple of low howls.

The howling also drew the attention of seals not far away.

The seals were not accustomed to seeing Arctic wolves come to the ice floe,

so those small eyes were quite curious about the two intruding hunters.

Su Lin was not concerned about the gaze of the seals and joined Xiao Hui.

He looked at the break in the ice floe and the fish swimming beneath it.

His eyesight and reaction were much quicker than Xiao Hui’s.

Spotting a fish passing through the opening in the ice, he swiftly clawed fiercely at it.

His sharp wolf claws pierced into the seawater, stirring up whirlpools.

The warm seawater felt comfortable to Su Lin.

However, the softness of the water also presented a noticeable resistance.

Rip!

Su Lin also missed,

but he sliced through the back of the fish, causing blood to scatter in all directions.

The fish in the North Arctic Ocean were fierce and nimble,

so missing the catch was expected.

The scent of blood now emanating from the injured fish’s scales attracted even more fish beneath the ice.

Despite their agility and the number of fish drawn in,

Xiao Hui extended his paw several times and still caught nothing,

watching desperately as they all eluded him.

Reborn as the Wolf Queen, Su Lin had never actually eaten fish,

and was curious to know what fish would taste like to a wolf’s palate.

This prompted him to take things more seriously.

He signaled Xiao Hui to stop the random snatching and keep guard to prevent sneak attacks from other animals.

Then Su Lin,

with his wolf eyes emitting a faint green glow, concentrated on the fish swimming below the break in the ice.

His front right claw, strengthened after enhancement, tensed and was ready to strike.

Soon,

an Arctic salmon roughly forty-five to fifty centimeters long, lured by the spreading scent of blood, swam over nimbly.

The salmon weighed about seven to eight pounds,

enough to fill him up to four or five tenths of fullness.

When the Arctic salmon came within the shortest distance to Su Lin, his right claw struck out fiercely.

Diving into the water,

it created several spiraling streams of water,

with immense speed,

his sharp wolf claws ruthlessly piercing the scales, penetrating the flesh of the Arctic salmon.

But the Arctic salmon was very ferocious, flailing violently even as it was almost skewered by the wolf claws.

In its violent struggle,

it managed to break free from Su Lin’s grasp.

However, the Arctic salmon was wounded, and its swimming speed had slowed down considerably.

Su Lin’s next swipe punctured the body of the Arctic salmon again,

and this time, even with the salmon’s intent to resist, it had no strength left to do so.

Bringing up the seawater,

Su Lin pulled the Arctic salmon out of the water.

This scene,

was met with surprise in the eyes of several seals watching from a distance.

Seals, being much more intelligent than the members of the Wolf Clan, naturally had a deeper understanding of nature.

Typically,

it was rare for Arctic wolves to come to the ice floe to hunt.

What surprised them even more was that this robust Arctic wolf had actually fished through an ice hole

and successfully caught a fish.

This left the group of seals continuously astonished.
