Chapter 3641: A Different Royer
Looking at the arena, those who made it outside had the same doubts. "If someone fails, there will be no indication of that to the rest of us," Lindihu commented. "That said, we don’t know if the rest of our group is still alive or not. How long are we going to wait here?"
"There is also the fact that more experts will eventually get to the arena and start their attempts," Werkel added. "The longer we wait, the worse it will be."
"We can just ambush anyone else who comes out," Cafantrie smiled coldly. "It is pretty easy to kill as soon as they appear, just like these Hibiscuses. Besides, we would sure make a fortune by stealing their Spatial Rings."
"Did you forget what the Hibiscuses mentioned before everything started?" Werkel spoke. "They said there are more groups and experts further ahead already. If we waste time here, that means we might be losing the chance to have a Celestial Realm Breakthrough. I don’t know you guys, but no amount of wealth in all your Universes and mine combined are worth more than the Celestial Realm for me."
Cafantrie calmed down. Yes, Werkel was right. She would easily give away everything she had and more if that could give her a chance to break through into the Celestial Realm. "You are right. We must move as soon as possible."
"So?" Lindiho asked again. "How long do we wait?"
Rean and Roan’s group looked at Elsie there. Truth be told, had Royer not been in the arena, they would have left already. They have Werkel, Cafantrie, and Lindiho, who also have some experience. They might even be able to tell the twins’ group about the Astral Tree if they get there. As for Grititi, he was just the bait anyway. He wasn’t exactly necessary.
Elsie knew that, but she had made up her mind already. ’I’m not leaving. I came here to bring Master back, and that’s what I will do. I will wait here as long as I know he is alive,’ she told the twins’ group through Divine Sense.
"One more hour," Werkel commented. "Let’s wait one more hour. We are still pretty weak ourselves because of our own battles. Let’s take this time to recover some more energy, and if no one appears, we will proceed. It is sad we lost quite a lot of our companions who also had information about the palace, but it can’t be helped."
Lindiho and Cafantrie nodded. One hour seemed about the right amount of time for them to wait.
Roan turned to Elsie. "You heard them. We will wait one hour and then leave. If Royer doesn’t come out, we will keep going without you."
"Alright!" Elsie nodded. That was more than she expected since Roan and the others actually looked pretty fine.
For the first thirty minutes, no one appeared. But then, at the 34th minute...
"There comes another one," Kentucky was the first one to notice, and everyone looked in the same direction. Lindiho and Cafantrie had already heard from Werkel that the twins’ group had someone capable of using Spatial Powers, so they understood how they could detect the warping spaces.
Sure enough, space moved, and a flash of Silver Light happened for an instant. Everyone was ready to attack, but they stopped in their tracks. The one who came out was indeed from their group... and it was Grititi!
*Cough, cough, cough...*
Grititi coughed rivers of blood in his Camazotz Bat form. "F-Fuck!"
He looked around, seeing that only his own group was still there. "So you lot got here first, uh?"
*cough, cough...*
He followed that by taking a pill himself. That one was of really high quality, something you would only find in the Supreme Palace in the twins’ Universe. His expression quickly improved, and his internal injuries began to heal. After ten minutes or so, Grititi finally managed to control the chaotic energy in his body.
The others didn’t need to ask. They knew all Hibiscus were dead, so there were only the normal fights left. Grititi definitely found the strongest enemy he killed in the past.
Grititi approached the twins’ group, but he soon realized Royer wasn’t there. "Where is the annoying guy?"
Rean shrugged. "No idea. Perhaps he died? Or perhaps he is still fighting."
Of course, Rean knew he was alive, but he wouldn’t tell Grititi that Royer and Elsie had their own connection.
Grititi narrowed his eyes, turning back to the arena. As far as Grititi knows, Royer is the one capable of exploding his Soul Power Bomb. He glanced at the twins’ group. Wasn’t this the perfect opportunity? He could just get rid of the twins’ group here.
But then he gave up the idea. Royer made it clear during the day he put the Soul Power Bomb. He could explode it from anywhere he wanted. If the twins’ group was dead when he arrived here outside, including Elsie, wouldn’t Royer kill him regardless if he knew it was Grititi who did it or not? Also, he remembers very well that the one who put it there wasn’t even Royer but Rean instead. What if Rean could also make it detonate?
If just Grititi knew there was no such thing as a Soul Power Bomb...
Rean and Roan glanced at each other, snorting. How could they not tell what Grititi was thinking? Besides, even if they couldn’t guess... the red color of killing intent coming from Grititi just now was way too obvious.
"Alright, be a good bait and wait for your master to come out," Rean teased. "Then we can think about what to do next."
"Hmph!" Grititi grunted but didn’t say anything.
Time continued to pass, and soon, one hour went by. They looked at Elsie, who understood their meaning. Werkel, Cafantrie, and Lindiho were also prepared to leave.
But then, just as they were about to walk away, Kentucky felt space warp again, followed by the twins and Celis.
*Zush!*
A flash of silver light appeared, and right after, another Spirit Core came out. Against all the odds, Royer really made it to the other side.
No, something looked different. Celis could feel that Royer’s core energy seemed very stable and full, completely different from what it had been so far, and Rean couldn’t detect any damage to his core whatsoever, different from the time Elsie appeared.
"Now, that felt great!" Royer spoke, feeling invigorated.
Everyone there was curious. He took this long to kill his opponent and complete his fight... and he is fine? Why?
