Chapter 3636: Chosen Elimination
"How’s that possible..." Getty didn’t even try to move anymore. He had no power to do so. He just looked at Roan, completely fine. It truly looked like losing his head meant nothing to Roan. He couldn’t understand it either. The rest of Roan’s body was petrified, and that included his Dantian. And yet, after his body regrew, even his Dantian reappeared. Shouldn’t he at least have lost his cultivation just now? "How can there be such a heaven-defying healing ability like that?"
"Oh! Thank you for the compliment," Rean smiled at him. "This skill of mine has evolved a lot ever since I created it. I truly put a lot of effort, you know?"
Roan ignored Rean and Getty, turning to Rifindio. "You did well there. Releasing your Regal Bloodline just at the key moment for me to attack. I ended up losing, but that was my fault. Your timing was perfect. We will need Kentucky to suppress your Regal Bloodline again, though."
That made Rifindio raise a question. "Was there really a need for me to use my bloodline? You and Rean have Celestial Bloodlines, don’t you? Aren’t they above Regal Bloodlines?"
"They are," Roan nodded. "But our bloodlines aren’t the same as Kentucky. He could definitely use his to do what you did, and so could Celis, but Rean and I can’t. In our case, our Celestial Bloodline is more about strengthening our bodies than anything else. We are not Demon Beasts, Angel Beasts, or Devil Beasts. That’s your territory, not ours."
Roan was right. For the twins, the Celestial Bloodline kind of took the place of their Starlight Body Cultivation Technique, and the Celestial Bloodline was much stronger, too. It definitely was worth the exchange. They just couldn’t use it like real Demon Beasts could.
Rean shrugged. "But that also means using a higher level of Bloodline Pressure against us would be meaningless. We wouldn’t feel anything at all."
"What about hybrids?" Rifindio wondered. Obviously, he was talking about offspring from Demon Beasts with other races, like the humanoid races.
"In the case of hybrids, they should be able to use bloodline pressure, and they should be able to feel them as well." Roan understood Rifindio’s doubts. "It’s just that the pressure they would feel or cause would be much lower than a real demon/devil/angel beast and similars."
Roan then turned back to Getty. "Anyway, we can talk more about these things later. Rifindio, give it a try. See if there is anything you should get from this guy. Don’t worry. He is paying the price for using that Celestial Realm Power. He can’t move a single pollen anymore. Even if he tries anything, I can end it all in an instant."
Rifindio scratched the back of his head with his wing as he approached. "Even if you tell me to give it a try, I don’t know what exactly I’m looking for."
"It was you who said that perhaps he has something for you, right?" Rean asked back. "That’s why we haven’t killed this guy yet."
"I know," Rifindio nodded, looking at Getty right in front of him. "I can feel this weird connection with him, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he has something I need. Of course, since he is here, I will try to figure something out."
Rifindio then put his wing on Getty’s frail body.
*Ugh...*
Getty tried to move, but talking was the most he could do at the moment. "Get away from me!"
Rifindio ignored him, sending his Divine Sense inside the guy’s body. He was focusing on that connection he was feeling, trying to see if he could feel something similar inside Getty.
*Badum...*
Suddenly, Rifindio saw a kind of spark inside Getty’s body, and the same spark happened inside his own. It wasn’t something physical. It didn’t occupy a part of his or Getty’s body. Yet, it was there. "What is this...? A seal?"
"Please tell me it is not the animal..." Rean said with a dark expression.
"Not that, not that..." Rifindio shook his head. "A real seal... the type used to keep things sealed and such... or kind of."
Rifindio then moved his wing, placing it exactly where the red light was located, the same Light that shows which Universe each expert came from. With his other wing, Rifindio touched his own Green Light.
"Come!" Rifindio suddenly spoke, and both lights burst out of their chests.
The twins looked upwards as Rifindio’s Green Light and Getty’s Red Light began to rotate together. As the lights did that, some special kind of energy left Getty’s body.
Above both lights, a projection of a forge appeared. The projection then entered Rifindio’s Green Light, and both lights shot back into their owner’s chests.
Rifindio’s eyes flashed with a red light for a short moment, and he now couldn’t feel Getty’s presence anymore. That connection disappeared. "He is not a chosen anymore..."
Rean and Roan looked at each other, confused. "What just happened?"
Rifindio turned back to them. "I’m not sure. It was like information had suddenly popped into my head, saying that the Forge Altar Chosen is no more. That was all."
Roan took out his medallion, which had a stone picture in it. "Check Lafanxa and Getty’s Spatial Rings. See if you can find a Medallion with them."
Rean and Rifindio quickly reached for Lafanxa and Getty, and sure enough, Lafanxa had a Medallion. Maybe not surprisingly, Lafanxa’s Medallion had a Forge Picture on it. "It’s the same image as the projection of Getty’s Red Light."
Roan nodded, already expecting that. "It became obvious back on the lake that each Universe carried a Medallion with a different image on it. Our F956 Universe has the Image of a Stone on it, and the F949 has the Image of a Forge."
Rifindio could understand a little bit more now. "So, when I absorbed Getty’s forge power just now, I took away the power that made him a chosen. Is that what you mean?"
"Yes," Roan nodded. "I can’t think of another reason."
Rean pondered a bit. "The Universes F949 up to 956 came into the Golden Palace. If one is chosen per Universe, we have eight in total. Well, seven now since Rifindio eliminated one."
Roan looked at Getty. "Are you sure you got everything you needed from him?"
Rifindio nodded. "At least the connection I felt to him is completely gone, so I believe that’s all. I can feel the forge power inside the green light in my chest now."
’Red Death, Dragon Claws!’
In the next instant, Roan completely finished Getty. "Then we have no use for him anymore."
So what if Roan praised Getty for what he did? He hasn’t forgotten the rules of this arena. Only by killing your enemies will you be allowed to go to the next region.
Roan looked at Rean’s hand next. "Now then, shall we read her memories? Perhaps our doubts about this chosen shit can finally be answered."
