Chapter 3634: The Runner
Rean ignored her outburst and followed with another attack.
’Red Death, Crimson Moon!’
Basically an upgraded version of the Death Style, Crescent Moon. This one with his new Bright Red Lightning, which had his Light Element supported by Roan’s Dark Element.
A red wave covering a huge area came at Lafanxa, who immediately did the same thing as Getty a moment ago. Her remaining petals flapped like wings, and she shot upwards, avoiding that wave of Bright Red Lightning. It wasn’t easy to do that with how high gravity was in this place, but it was possible.
Yet... "As I thought, you can also fly like that friend of yours," Rean voice came from above, a trail of Red Light appearing under him, going all the way down to the ground. How did Rean get this high without being able to fly? He didn’t fly. He simply jumped, using the Fourth form of the Death Style, Soaring Dragon! This ability’s capability to make one soar upwards was still as powerful as ever! Now, he began his descent!
’Red Death, Descending Slicer!’
Rotating his body, Rean came slashing down like a guillotine surrounded by Bright Red Lightning! Rarely did the twins use this ability as it was only useful with a big descending momentum. But with the right conditions, it was indeed powerful.
Lafanxa noticed Rean way too late. She didn’t expect Rean could jump this high without the assistance of something like what she did with her petals. Her attention was on the ground from the moment she jumped out. She only had time to condense her Divine Energy and Laws around her body, creating a hasty barrier.
*Swash!*.
*Arrrgghhh!*
The Descending Slicer cut right through it, but it failed to cause fatal damage. That was on purpose, though. Rean didn’t want to kill Lafanxa, only capture her. After reading her memories directly from her soul, then she could die.
*Bang!*
Lafanxa fell to the ground with a huge impact, her pollen spreading everywhere, but this time, without her control.
Rean also landed not far away. "Hum... maybe I exaggerated a little? I thought her defenses would be stronger than that. Or perhaps using the Descending Slicer with Bright Red Lightning was stronger than I expected. I wonder what would happen if I managed to comprehend this Red Lightning’s Laws..."
*Zush!*
Yet, Lafanxa suddenly shot out of the cloud of dust and pollen. The petals that Rean had cut off were now back again, and she flapped her petals, creating as much distance as possible. "Oh! She is fine! No, wait..."
Then, Rean noticed that the Red Color and the glittering had disappeared. Lafanxa’s Flower form now had a very pale, almost completely white color, and the power he could feel from her was quite weak. "Demon Plants truly have some powerful regenerative abilities. This one seems to have a price, though."
Lafanxa could hear Rean’s words, but she ignored that, turning her attention to where Roan and Getty were fighting. "Getty, what is taking you so long?! How can you not have killed that guy yet with senior Ruvic’s Golden Petal’s power?!"
Getty almost exploded in anger. How? The reason was very simple.
*Drumm!*
*Zush!*
*Bang, bang, bang!*
Roan once again dodged more of Getty’s attacks, still keeping a safe distance from him. "Shut up! This fucker is too fast!"
Roan coldly smiled. Truth be told, Roan could move even faster and never allow Getty to get close to him. Still, he was purposely staying in the range of Getty’s whip-like anthers as Getty pursued him. Each attack carried those Celestial Laws of Wood and Earth, not to mention a huge amount of Divine Energy.
Roan’s plan was actually very simple. Getty was definitely very dangerous as he is right now... but that power wasn’t his. It had a limit, and the limit was how much power the Golden Petal carried. Once it ran off, Getty would come back to normal. Not only that, he would also receive a backlash for using something way beyond his capabilities. Roan could already see the side effects of that power happening to Getty’s body.
The edges of Getty’s petals were drying out. The amount of pollen was being reduced with every second as much of it lost its golden color and simply fell. Even those whip-like anthers were getting slower.
Don’t get it wrong. Getty was definitely stronger and faster than he had ever been in this Golden Palace. He probably could have killed almost anyone else in that situation. It’s just that he truly, truly bought a fight with the worst possible expert.
When Roan used his Third Movement Form, Crimson Lightning, Getty couldn’t keep up with that speed. Also, most of the time, Roan didn’t need to use the Crimson Lightning. His ability to dodge and avoid the anthers was not something just anyone could copy.
Even worse! The Red Glittering Hibiscus wasn’t a race famous for its speed to start with. Even with all that help from the Golden Petal, this fact didn’t change. Had it been some other race focused on speed, perhaps they would have made Roan feel some real pressure.
*Bang!*
Getty missed another attack, and Roan landed not too far away. "I wonder how much longer will that petal’s power last. If just Celis was here, he would be able to tell it quite precisely."
Getty was growing desperate already. Regardless of how he tried, he simply couldn’t catch Roan. He had to think of a way to lure Roan close to him instead. Then, he remembered something, and his attention shifted away from Roan.
On the other side of the arena, he saw Rifindio, who was just watching the whole thing until now. Getty had no other choice. He immediately changed tactics and shot after Rifindio, hoping Rifindio wasn’t a monster like Rean and Roan.
Surprisingly, Roan also came after him. Not only that, Rifindio noticed Getty’s approach and quickly began to run away. It’s just that he wasn’t anywhere as fast as Roan.
Roan narrowed his eyes, becoming serious. Rifindio definitely didn’t have the strength to fight that guy as he is now. He already didn’t have that capability before the Golden Petal even appeared!
