Chapter 3480: Stick With
[I may know why the system is going bonkers.] Sister Orb’s voice echoed in the twins’ minds.
Rean had an idea already. ’Let me guess, it is related to how we managed to move back there.’
[Correct,] Sister Orb confirmed.
Back in the SANS city, the twins’ group was also forced to the ground by that weird power. Yet, the robots were surprised when Roan suddenly attacked SANS0128 and Rean rescued Qwerty. Kentucky and Celis were also able to move there, thanks to their connection to the twins. Turns out it was the system that acted and freed them from the restraining power. That’s when Rean and Sister Orb understood that the system was somehow related to the power of the robots.
After they fled, Sister Orb had the time to review all the events, and she came up with a theory. [Back in the SANS City, the robots were able to block everything, including your access to Divine Energy. Isn’t that exactly the same thing that the Werdlem System does? It’s just that the SANS City doesn’t act on something like the Werdlem Stones. Instead, it works over a selected area and the targets inside.]
[The reason the system couldn’t even speak precisely and had many words turned into noise was because it couldn’t read this power correctly. It was similar to the Werdlem Empire’s System, but not the same.]
Rean immediately understood where Sister Orb was coming from. ’I see! It was a conflict, wasn’t it?! Our system adapted to the Werdlem Empire System, which allows us to cultivate and use all energies as we see fit without the need for Werdlem Stones. But even if the robot’s System is similar to the Werdlem Empire’s, it isn’t the same in the end. Our Celestial Soul System was trying to read and manipulate it with its own knowledge of the Werdlem System, thus the conflicts and noises during its messages.’
[Correct!] Sister Orb was happy that Rean caught it. [Whatever the robots here have, it is similar to the Werdlem Empire’s system. As to whether it is a good thing or not, I’m not sure. Of course, this is all a theory, and I might be wrong.]
’I don’t think you are,’ Rean shook his head. ’We felt it. It was as if the system’s words were being blocked. Of course they were! Our own system was trying to use the wrong method to read into the robot’s system. It is only natural that the robot’s system blocked it.’
[Our Celestial Soul System is still adapting to theirs. Perhaps it will succeed. Perhaps it won’t. Regardless, it at least managed to stop their power to block our access to cultivation energies and the ability to use them.]
Roan narrowed his eyes. ’Then why doesn’t it block the robots who were invading?’
[That I don’t know, but I can think of a few options. Maybe their system can’t really be controlled, or perhaps it simply wasn’t made to block the robots’ powers, regardless if they were friends or enemy.]
’I guess we will have to find the answer ourselves,’ Rean concluded.
Back outside...
Of course, all this conversation couldn’t be heard by CAU03. "Help us? What are you talking about? No one asked your help."
CAU431 didn’t think the same, though. "03, wait! They will be a huge addition to our forces. I saw it when we invaded, they were able to hold down thousands of SANS idiots! This tree guy, especially, turned them into dry husks. Sure, they can simply be recharged later and go back to work, but for a battle, he is incredible." He obviously was talking about Celis.
He then turned around and pointed at the back, where hundreds of robots could be seen. "Look!"
CAU03 looked in the same direction and saw hundreds of robots carrying shining yellow spheres. "That many?!"
"What is that?" Rean asked out of curiosity. He had noticed that the retreating forces had some, but now, even more of them arrived with more of those yellow spheres.
"It’s the robots’ cores," Celis was the one to answer. For him, those orbs shined like the sun in his perception. He absorbed many of them during the last battle as well. "Too bad they aren’t Divine Origin Energy. Otherwise, even I would want them..."
CAU03 took one and couldn’t help but feel happy. "Did you assault one of their storages? No, that can’t be. They aren’t really idiots. The storages are the most protected locations."
"Nope!" CAU431 patted Celis. "We just got the cores of the robots lying around that this guy here dried up. They were completely immovable, so they couldn’t even self-destruct if they wanted. They simply had no more energy. Naturally, it was an easy pick to extract their cores."
CAU03 looked at Celis closer. Even though he didn’t like the idea, he had to admit Celis’s ability to drain all of the enemy robots’ energy was great. "Alright! Alright! I get it! They would be a huge addition to our forces, happy? But, can we trust them?"
Roan answered that. "It is very simple. As long as you don’t try anything funny against us, then we won’t cause trouble for you either. However..." He got to Qwerty’s side.
CAU03 almost lost his patience again. "I said he isn’t anyone’s robot! Why do you living beings always think about us as your slaves? That’s why we never go out! HAF-... No, Qwerty, right? Qwerty, the collar we gave you also nullifies any master authority that anyone has over you. You don’t need to continue acting as their servant anymore."
Qwerty wanted to say something, but he couldn’t deny that he still thought of the twins as his masters since they activated him. But then again, he also could tell that he truly wasn’t under their control, thanks to the collar.
Yet, to his surprise, Roan hadn’t finished there. "Slave? Master? There is no such thing here anymore. With our deal earlier, Qwerty is now a piece of junk to us again. Why would we want him to serve us? You guys can guide us out of this Zoshia World anytime."
*Tud!*
Roan then slapped his back, forcing him forward. "Qwerty, you can do whatever you want. It is up to you whether you want to stick with us or not. However..." Roan glanced at CAU03. "If they try to force you to do anything because of your model, then fuck the deal."
Rean, Kentucky, and Celis also got to Qwerty’s side. "The block of ice isn’t very good with words, but he is correct. Qwerty, what do you want to do?"
"I..." Qwerty was lost. Roan called him a piece of junk, and yet they were willing to fight all the robots here as well if they tried to capture him. For his little time active, he truly went through a roller coaster of emotions... if what he had in him was really emotions, that is. "I think... I will stick with my masters..."
*Pah!*
Rean slapped the back of his head. "What master? We aren’t your masters anymore. There is a much better word for it."
The lights on Qwerty’s face changed, showing a smile. "I think I will stick with my... friends..."
