Chapter 3412: On The Way
"I say, the best dessert our mom ever made is the strawberry jelly. How can you not understand that?" Rean spoke, his light element mixed with red lightning running through the body of a demon beast at the end of his hand. Rean then let go of the demon beast, who plummeted from the skies and crashed on the ground. It wasn’t dead, but it definitely wouldn’t wake up anytime soon.
"Hmph!" Roan snorted, completely disagreeing with Rean. His Scythe was piercing through the abdomen of a cultivator, someone who was previously working with the demon beast Rean just got rid of. Roan swung his Scythe, throwing that cultivator away as if he were throwing some trash instead. That guy definitely wouldn’t be able to fight for a while. He wasn’t unconscious like the demon beast, though. So he could hear Rean and Roan’s conversation.
"First of all, there were no strawberries back then," Roan continued. "What we had back then was called Doredore Fruit, and it just so happened to have a similar flavor to Earth’s strawberry. Leaving that aside, the fact you don’t understand that mother’s Kassanga Pudding was by far the best just shows how your palate is ridiculously poor. The Doredore Jelly was also good, but it couldn’t compare to Kassanga."
Rean looked at Roan as if he was looking at an idiot. "You dare say my palate was ridiculous, and yet you say that Kassanga Pudding was better? Hahaha! Preposterous! Even Father agreed the Jelly was better. You just don’t know what you are talking about."
"That just proves father was also wrong, that’s all," Roan didn’t relent. Just like that, Rean and Roan flew away while arguing, leaving the Demon Beast and the cultivator behind.
The cultivator felt like crying down there. Not even for a second did Rean or Roan pay attention to him or his companion. When he first located the twins, he hid with his demon beast with the help of the formations of the forest, like all other disciples. He heard them arguing about desserts and found it strange. Nonetheless, he and his companion attacked the twins...
What occurred right after wasn’t a battle but a one-sided pummeling. Rean and Roan beat them so badly that they simply didn’t have any chance to retaliate. And to make things worse, not even for a second did those two stop arguing about the desserts. What did that mean? That meant their dessert argument carried more importance than the cultivator and the demon beast ever did!
How can the guy not feel like crying? He and his Demon Beast companion were both in the Void Tempering Realm Late Stage, two stages above Rean and Roan! But even with that advantage, it was as if they didn’t even exist. ’Fuck! No one told me there were anomalies like these here! Just what kind of monsters are those two?’
Those were his last thoughts before he passed out in anger. He wouldn’t die or have any long-lasting injuries, but he wouldn’t wake up anytime soon, either.
Back in the Divine Snow Mountain Sect, an elder looked at that while his mouth twitched. As Silveria selected the participants she liked, she also put other elders to watch them closely. This elder was the one put to observe Rean and Roan, as well as another five participants in other areas. "Do they even know that everyone in the forest is out there to kill them?" He couldn’t help but murmur a little.

Somewhere else, Rifindio and Kentucky were having even more of a leisure time. At first, Kentucky didn’t use his high perception towards the spatial environment and just reacted to defend against the attacks of the disciples of the sect. Rifindio naturally helped him. That’s how they were having their fun.
Too bad that Kentucky got bored at some point, so he started to rely on his spatial perception. As much as the sect made the Natural Spatial Perception show a field of darkness, it didn’t conceal normal fluctuations in space. Normal cultivators, even the geniuses in this test, wouldn’t notice such small fluctuations. But Kentucky, whose Spatial Perception only lost to Luan’s Space Element Affinity, did not lose those fluctuations. After the 100,000 kilometer mark, he didn’t just react in defense and simply attacked ahead of time. With Rifindio giving a hand, those two easily got rid of all the disciples who intended to attack them first.
"I have to admit this sect has a lot of disciples. The closer we get to the sect, the higher the number of disciples of various races we encounter," Kentucky commented.
Rifindio shook his head in response. "It’s not that it has more as we get closer, but that we already flew more than 100,000 kilometers. You also noticed through your Divine Sense how the disciples of the sect killed or managed to make many participants give up the test, right? That means those disciples became free. Since they were free, they could go after other participants. The more participants that fall, the higher the number of disciples available to come after us."
"I see..." Kentucky nodded, his Blade Feathers detaching and skewering another cultivator hidden by the spatial formations of the forest.
*Arrrghhhh!*
This time, however, he left the guy almost dead because he wasn’t paying much attention. "Ops! I went a little too far."
"Master, you will get disqualified if he dies or can’t recover from the injuries you caused, remember?" Rifindio quickly warned him.
"Oh! That’s right. Give me a second..." Kentucky quickly caught that cultivator, who was hanging to life by a threat.
’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’
His Light Element burst out of his body, entering the guy’s body instead. In a few minutes, all of his injuries closed, and it was as if he was never hurt to start with. He opened his eyes, shocked by how Kentucky healed him so easily. He truly thought he was going to die a moment ago.
*Bang!*
Too bad Kentucky wouldn’t let him think for long. Kentucky knocked him out as soon as he confirmed that the sect’s disciple was out of danger. "That should be enough; let’s keep going."
"Okay." Rifindio quickly followed.
Once again, back in the sect, another elder watched Kentucky and Rifindio with wide-open eyes. ’Just how can that demon beast have such a powerful healing ability...?’ Little did he know Kentucky held back and thought he healed the guy slowly instead.
