Dark Magus Returns

Chapter 1269 - 1269: The State of Pagna (Part 2)

Later in the day, several tables and seats had been brought into the large tent. They were placed in a particular triangle shape facing towards the centre.

Each section, of seats were set for different groups of people. The Dark Faction, the Demonic Faction and the Light Faction.

What was interesting about the meeting, was that it was one of the first where all of the Kingdoms spread through the land, as well as those from the empire were arriving as well.

Some of those even in the same territory didn’t get along, yet for the sake of the meeting they would have to sit next to each other, as if they were all part of the same group.

None of them had declined to come to the meeting as two events made things very clear for them. Their lives, the way they lived, it was in the hands of the warriors themselves.

The Empire was the largest singular force out of the non-warriors and they had fallen as well.

They had heard the stories of the Dark Magus, who had essentially eliminated an entire army himself. So now they felt like they were just along for the ride.

Rayna stood in the centre, in each different direction were the various leaders. Sitting around the outside where Raze’s friends and allies.

Those that didn’t really have a strong connection to a place or a clan, but just to Raze himself, and as for Raze himself, he was nowhere to be seen.

Things were getting a bit rowdy already so Rayna had decided to take charge. It seemed in the others eyes, who barely knew the truth she was still the Dark Magus’s other half.

So many wouldn’t even dare to interrupt her.

“Today we are here to talk about the proceedings of events between our three factions.” Rayna claimed. “The Dark faction and clans, along with the Demonic Factions had united forces to go against the Light Faction.

“The Light Faction has agreed to surrender. In a typical case like so, usually territory would be divided by both of the Factions.

“Leaders, Clan’s and more would be sent into each of the faction’s territory and start to implement their ways and rules.”

As Rayna said this, she could already hear several grumbles and growls coming from those in the Light Faction.

If there was anyone that was so stubborn about their way, it was those form the Light Faction.

“First, before we try and go through certain rules and aspects, are there any disagreements that wish to be heard out now?”

Rayna hated this part of life. The politics in particular matters. It was why clan’s kept so many Elders around so they could deal with the situation and they could just focus on getting stronger.

After asking that question, several hands went up, and most of them form the Light Faction.

“I would like to ask, what will happen of our clans?” One of the elders asked. “If they are under the banner of the Dark or Demonic Faction, doesn’t it mean the clan’s must forget their own arts?

“That they are to throw away hundreds and hundreds years of history. I think, there will be those that will be willing to fight for their lives to not give that up.”

Rayna knew that would be the case because it would be the same as any clan, and in the past, the result was, the complete annihilation of clans.

That was what had originally even started the wander martial arts. They were techniques that were lost to the battles that had taken place during territory disputes, so it was no wonder they were afraid.

“I have a question as well.” One of those from the empire said as they stood up. “Are you all now under one faction banner, if that does happen what does it mean for us.

“Will you be forcing, all of us to pay a heavy tax to support the clans. Is there no way we can dispute that between us, whats’ the deal with resources.”

Then another stood up.

“And what about the borders. The Demonic and Dark faction still exist, is it the same for trade between borders and kingdoms or what….”

The vision was becoming unclear, and because of it, the people were starting to speak up more and more.

Full on arguments were occurring as people pointed fingers and started to yell at each other.

At first, it started between the factions, but as the arguing intensified they start to shout at those next to each other.

Those from the same clans, those form the same kingdoms.

Zon was sitting on the outside, and along with everyone else they had their mouths wide open, they were shocked that this was the state of politics from those that ruled the entire land.

“This is quite normal.” Zon commented. “Pagna, although they might have a long history, it seems that they are in the early periods of politics. Their land has always been separated due to the ideals that the warriors faces.

“They are powerful with their own fists so they haven’t had to rely on technological advancements. Nor have they had to push to work together, until now.”

The others were beginning to understand. Often their lives were limited to their town or city, having maybe two trips a year to other places within the same faction.

It certainly felt like thing’s were about to change, but maybe they just weren’t ready yet.

“And I have another question!” One shouted at the top of their lungs. “Where is the Dark Magus! Shouldn’t he be here.”

In the middle of all of the arguing, they hadn’t even noticed, as Raze walked in, when he entered the centre a few had reconsidered him, and slowly they started to quiet down.

A wave passed as more and more started to quiet until there was silence.

This was the effect of a name, of the presence of a single person, of the Dark Magus.

“I…have a solution.”
