A tough decision weighed on Raze's mind, and he didn't have much time to think about what was the best thing to do. Those around him had no clue what was going through his mind, or why it was so hard.
They weren't quite aware of the full capabilities of Raze's Demonic Extraction technique. He wasn't even sure if he could trust Mosak's words either. Surely the man would have a grudge against him and would deter him from getting even stronger than before. Gripping his other weak hand tighter, a voice had entered Raze's head.
"Don't do it." The voice, whispery and soft yet echoing, was one he was familiar with. It was the bloody woman that was communicating with him. "What that man told you, it's no lie. I've seen your strength and seen you grow, no doubt in my mind you would have a good chance of surviving.
"Especially if I was to aid you, but there's no doubt getting back to Pagna, there will be those that try to stop you, and by then who knows how much time would have passed. The time for immortals becomes a blur, maybe those that you wish to defeat will have disappeared."
Thinking about it, Raze also knew that there was a key difference between the truly powerful on Pagna and those on Alterian. The difference between mages and warriors, and that was their longevity.
Mages, even when increasing their star rank, didn't improve the condition of their body. Through magic, medicine, and items, they could extend a mage's life to around 150 years old.
However, it was nothing compared to the Pagna warriors that cultivated for hundreds of years or the Divine warriors that gained true immortality.
It was why Raze thought that maybe the Idore that he saw as a kid was a different Idore to the one that was known now, maybe even his son. Yet it was also possible that Idore, who was a genius at crafting special artifacts, had figured out a way to slow down his aging and not share this fact with the rest of Alterian.
Regardless, the truth was, that although Raze's new body would be fine and if he became a Divine warrior, he would be able to live forever, that wasn't the case for the enemies that he needed to take out.
Slowly Raze pulled out his hand. Blood wasn't even on his fingertips due to the Dark Magic that was encasing them, that got rid of everything, and he allowed the body to fall to the floor. When Lince saw this, he saw that Mosak's body didn't shrivel up like that of Sha Mo's, and he started to have an idea of why Raze had asked the question he had done.
After looking at Mosak's body for a while, something strange had started to occur. It started to shake on the ground aggressively for a short while. Raze knew that Mosak was dead, but it had even caused him to take a step back and hold his hand out.
He had tried to gather his magic when a stinging pain was felt in his chest.
'Ah right... the pill. I don't even have my magic right now,' Raze thought.
Thinking about this, Raze turned his head to look at Zon.
"Zon, it looks like I might have to call in on that favor. For the next few hours, I'm going to have you look after me if anything happens."
Zon nodded, not asking any questions, and even moved so he was closer to Raze just in case anything happened. As they continued to watch the body in front of them, they saw a strange golden energy come out of the body.
It looked like the same type of Qi energy that Mosak had been using throughout the fight. It swirled out of his body, making Mosak's body look increasingly pale as more of the energy seeped out and headed above into the air until there was eventually nothing left.
'The Divine realm, a world that's separated from even our sight, a world that a person isn't even able to travel into. There are many mysteries that are still needed to learn in this world,' Raze thought, and with it, he could tell that his chance had disappeared.
No longer in the body that was left behind was there. No longer was there any energy left behind in the body for Raze to consume.
"It's finally over, right?" Lince said. "With everything that happened, and it seems that there were more problems than I realized."
Lince was looking over at Ricar, who was on the floor, and eventually approached Beatrix. She was still on guard and even held the Golden Globe close to her chest.
"Don't worry. I'm not looking for the item, as long as you are keeping your promise and handing it over to Raze. After all, now that the others are gone, there's no reason to wait for you to go to your secret meeting place, right?"
Beatrix had never thought of it like that. The situation had just kept changing one after the other in front of her. Whatever plans she had, they continuously kept changing, and she supposed they were right now.
But after giving the item to Raze, then what of her? Where would she go? What would she do then? Where was she meant to even take refuge?
"The reason why I actually wanted to come over was to ask if you wanted us to take his body back," Lince offered. "I can look after his body, and when the time is right, we can deal with the situation then. That's the least we can do for you helping us out."
Raze finally turned to look at Beatrix. He had to say thanks to her for pulling through in this entire situation.
"Now that I think about it, artifacts work as well now, right?" Raze asked Zon, and knew from his own weapons working properly now compared to before. "If that's the case, shouldn't the Golden Globe work now as well?"
