Child of Destiny

Chapter 1628: Finding the Way (part 2)

...

"I see. So that is it," Shin mumbled to himself after exchanging more blows with Han.

During their exchanges, he realized what were the similarities and differences between the elemental powers that he controlled and the mental energy that the Three-Eyed Demon Crow was providing.

The Mental Energy of this ancient soul was pure energy released by the soul without any hint of mixture from any other source of powers while the Elemental Powers that he controlled were energies that were formed after the combination of the elemental mana in the atmosphere and the power of the soul.

As for the higher form of mana that he controlled such as the Eternal Flame, Natural Wood, Primordial Waters, Earthen Metal, and Metallic Earth, they were the purest and highest form of Elemental Powers that were created after the natural elements perfectly merged with the power of the soul.

Such pure elemental powers could only be found in Elemental Beings, particularly those at the level of Spirit Kings, Supreme Elementals, and Elemental Monarchs.

On the other hand, the Mental Energy that the Three-Eyed Demon Crow was releasing was pure energy released by the soul itself. It did not have any mix of other sources of energy. It was just pure energy produced by the soul similar to what the Mental Energy a Mentalist had in the real world.

On the other hand, the Elemental Powers that Shin had were more of a Spiritual Force, which was the combination of Mental Energy and Innate Attributes that an individual had.

They followed the same principle, but the difference was this Mental Energy being a little stronger and much purer than what a regular Mental Energy had.

In the meantime, the other higher forms of mana such as the Powers of the Brilliant Sun and the Abyssal Moon were some energies that were refined to perfectly match an individual. They were more of the Internal Energy that the Martial Artists trained in the real world, which then transformed into Natural Force.

Shin also realized the different advantages of these forms of mana, which followed different principles.

After exchanging a couple more blows against Han, Shin was finally able to pinpoint the exact differences between these energies.

Boom!

Separating from one another, Shin stared at Han and the apparition of the Three-Eyed Demon Crow behind the latter, observing the other party closely.

After seeing that Han was about to lose his mind completely, Shin sighed and said. "I guess this is as far as we can go."

Even if he did not get what he wanted to know, he at least had gotten quite a lot from this encounter with this genius from the Seven Seas Group.

He had gotten quite an idea of what these guys were planning and what their experiments were meant for both inside the game and the real world.

He had also benefited from his encounter with the Three-Eyed Demon Crow, particularly the completion of his five-elemental breathing cycle and understanding of the energies within the game.

There was also the hint that he had gotten about the bloodlines of the Transcendent Beings, which was similar to the clues that Arthur had gotten from that mysterious Sigurd Dragonborn of the Dragon Slayer Family – about how the Transcendent Beings would advance in the future.

Reorganizing his thoughts, Shin stared at Han, who was currently charging straight at him with bloodshot eyes.

He sighed before releasing the 'Judgement Form' of the sword on his left hand and turned it back to its original sheath form before putting the [Yamato] back into it.

He then took his signature sword-drawing stance as he changed his breathing according to the 'Solar Breathing Technique', making him breathe out hot steam from his mouth.

He watched Han reach his ideal range before suddenly disappearing from his current position and transforming into a blazing streak of light.

This technique was something had created after being enlightened during this battle. It was a technique that was formed with the combination of the 'Jade Kirin Scripture' and any of the five elemental breathings in addition to the sword principles that he had learned from the real world, particularly about the concept of a swift and sharp sword.

'Jade Kirin Scripture: Quick Draw – (Blazing) Phoenix's Path'

Shing!

As Shin unsheathed the sword during his flight, a trail of gorgeous followed the path of his sword, which then turned into a huge image of a blazing bird that enveloped him. ṜἁNȱΒÈṤ

Swoosh!

His figure then disappeared as if he merged with the blazing bird, which then devoured Han, who was being protected by the ancient soul projection of the Three-Eyed Demon Crow.

Shriek!

The two birds clashed against one another, producing a blinding light that illuminated the entire battle.

The clash between the pure mental energy and the gorgeous flames created a storm of energy that even burned the plague filling the environment.

This collision of powers then formed a blazing sphere, which expanded in every direction, further burning the environment and somewhat purifying the land as well.

The trio of Exheart, Bryan, and HellBan even ran away from the explosion, defeating their respective opponents.

They then turned at the blazing storm after reaching a safe distance while suppressing the twitching of their face.

"Such power! So, this is a glimpse of his true powers?" mumbled Exheart as he stared intently at the blazing sphere made by the explosion.

Not long after, the figures of Shin and Han were revealed at the center of the receding storm with their backs facing one another.

They stayed still for a couple of moments before Shin straightened his back and sheathed his sword.

Click!

When the [Yamato] fully returned to its sheath, Han, who was standing in the distance, was suddenly set ablaze and turned into ashes.

In the end, Han had never found the opportunity to escape and was forced to fight until the end. He had used everything he had yet still lost miserably without Shin showcasing his full capabilities.

He then left a tattered beast skin, which seemed to contain a map of an unknown place, after dying.

Shin slowly walked over picked up the beast's skin and checked what was drawn in it. He slightly frowned his brows when he saw the contents, particularly after realizing that it was some important map.

What confused him was he could not see much of the details of this thing even though he was using the True Sight ocular skill to identify it.

"What is this thing," he mumbled after failing to identify the item multiple times. Aside from having a rough idea that it was a map for something special, he had no idea where exactly it was pointing.

He thought for a moment before putting it inside his inventory bag, saving it for later. Since it was guaranteed to drop, he was sure that it was something of utmost importance, especially after sensing an ancient feeling coming from the map.

After that, he raised his head and scanned the surroundings. He then raised his brows after seeing that the land, on which the final exchange occurred, had been 'purified' by the blazing storm.

The range was somewhat larger, which gave Shin a rough idea of how strong the final clash was. Even if it was not as huge as the strongest collisions from his previous huge battles, it was still large enough to be considered devastating.

After slightly nodding his head, he turned to the Exheart, Bryan, and HellBan, who were already clearing the battlefield and looting all the drops that the opposing group had left behind.

Those people were still elites and experts in the game, especially as part of such a huge organization. This could only mean that their equipment shouldn't be that bad and worth a fortune, particularly the three peak Maverick Rankers they fought earlier.

After making sure that they did not miss anything, the trio walked toward Shin to discuss how they would divide the spoils of war.

Seeing them walk over, Shin understood what they wanted to discuss and said. "You can keep those things."

Even if those pieces of equipment could cost a fortune, they were nothing in front of Shin, who could be considered one of the wealthiest individuals in the game.

Forget about his city and dukedom, even the equipment that he was wearing was more than enough the combined prices of these three had collected. This even excluded the special items in his possession such as the [Yamato], an inheritance weapon of the Nephilim Race; the [Death's Shadow], a cloak that transformed into a sacred relic; and the [Proof of Eclipse], which was a dissonant wish.

There were also others, which were of equal value such as the fragment of [Balmung], which a legendary sword, was also one of them.

In his eyes, the items and equipment that the trio had collected were nothing but a bunch of junk.

He then turned toward the depths of the Plagued Lands before saying. "Let's continue. I feel like those people watching us will give us more surprises than this group."
