Chapter 243: One-sided beating

Chapter 243: One-sided beating

Jayce charged at Colin in anger, his Qi galloping inside his meridians and filling his muscles with tremendous force. He arrived in front of the big man in the blink of an eye and threw his fist accurately into the pit of his stomach.

BAM!

The sound of impact reverberated through the streets, sending a chill down the spines of the spectators. Colin bent over from the force of the strike, almost curling into a prawn as he emptied the contents of his lungs.

Yet Jayce did not have the time to celebrate. The big man grabbed onto his arm and raised his gaze, staring at him with a playful smile.

“Got ya.” He whispered, blood trickling from his mouth from the strike.

Jayce’s eyes widened, realizing that he had messed up. Colin knew that he was too fast and strong to fight conventionally, therefore he had baited him from the start. Now that he had grabbed a hold of his arm, there was no way he would let go easily.

He tried to extricate himself from the grasp of Colin, but he was not budging. With his free hand he began to deliver short and powerful punches at Colin’s right arm so he could try and dislodge himself.

Yet in the next moment Colin pulled him close into something of a bear hug, restricting his movements entirely.

“HUUUP!”

Colin dug his heels into the ground and lifted Jayce with all his strength, flinging him over his left shoulder in one fluid motion.

Jayce suddenly felt his body become weightless as he finally began to panic. The big man could easily lift his frame, let alone when he used this much strength.

The onlookers watched on with awe as Colin picked up Jayce like a sack of potatoes and suplexed him into the ground with tremendous force. The ground seemed to sink in a few inches as the two men impacted the ground.

All sorts of debris was thrown in each and every direction, almost hitting a few of the bystanders who had stopped what they were doing. They quickly fled the scene, not wanting to become collateral damage in this fight.

Jayce felt the air leave his lungs as his back hit the ground and the huge frame of Colin crushed him with his weight. In his vision was the face of the man he trusted with his life, staring at him with resolution.

He could feel the hurt and betrayal within those eyes for a brief moment before a large fist came crashing down upon his face. Suddenly his vision blurred as the mammoth fist connected, hammering his head down into the ground a few inches.

Colin had moved his body over Jayce’s in the full mount position and began to throw heavy punches at his unmoving figure on the ground.

BANG!

“You let wolves into our home”

BANG!

“You were meant to protect everyone!”

BANG!

“Aren’t you meant to be our Leader???”

BANG!

“What kind of Leader doesn’t take responsibility when he screws up!?”

In between the heavy hits, Colin poured his grievances out. All of the pent up stress and uncertainty came flowing out with every punch that connected onto Jayce’s unmoving figure.

The dull sounds of flesh meeting bone rang out within the street, causing all who heard it to cringe in pain.

Jackie who had returned after the initial ruckus watched on in horror as blood spurted out of Jayce’s face, the residue visible on her husbands knuckles as he pulled his arm back for the next strike.

“Colin what are you doi—” She shouted, about to run forward and put an end to the madness.

However, before she could finish her words she was suddenly held back by someone. Jackie was about to lash out at the unknown person, but as she turned around she realized that it was Lianna who was holding her tightly.

“L-Lianna what are you doing? I have to stop him!” She pleaded, still hearing the dull sounds echoing in her ears.

“Please… Just leave them. You once told me that it takes a real woman to share her man’s burdens.” Lianna said softly, vast emotion underlying her words.

Jackie’s eyes widened as she gazed upon the tears streaming down Lianna’s pale face.

“This isn’t easy for me either…” Lianna admitted, her arms that were wrapped around Jackie began to tremble, tensing up whenever the sound of a punch landing rang out.

Jackie stopped in place, her mind in turmoil. However, if Jayce’s woman was pleading with her to not interrupt then she should not stop Colin. She eventually decided to acquiesce , but she was not happy about it.

Although she could not stop Colin right now, that didn’t mean that he wouldn’t suffer the consequences after this was all said and done. She turned back to the two and stared daggers at her man, crossing her arms in a huff.

By this time, Colin had already hit Jayce in the face so many times that he had lost count. Each time he pulled his arm back to land a blow he felt the burning in his muscles, yet his heart was in much more pain.

The subsequent blows lost their strength until he finally stopped and gasped for air. He had been performing manual labor all day despite being exhausted from the recovery of his injury. This meant that his stamina was at an all time low.

He was so engrossed in the fight that he had not noticed that since the fight began Jayce had only thrown one punch. He had not even been trying to avoid the blows that Colin had been throwing on top of him.

Jayce had taken all of the physical punishment without letting out a word of complaint, almost as if he was taking responsibility for Colin’s feelings of betrayal and uncertainty.

The big man stood up after catching his breath and looked at the man he had just pummeled into the ground. The man who he had looked up to and trusted, who he would give his life to protect.

Now that he had vented all of his feelings, a wave of exhaustion and realization assaulted his body, pulling him out of his earlier stupor.

His gaze moved around, seeing the scared onlookers. Jayce was also a leading figure in their eyes, someone who united them and gave them hope for survival. He began to regret his impulsive actions.

It was only when he saw his wife who was staring daggers at him with her arms crossed that he truly understood what kind of trouble he was in.

“Ah… I f*cked up.” He murmured
