Chapter 206: Class Upgrade, and a show?

Moments after sending the Faction announcement, Jayce grinned widely and leaned back against a tree. Next to him was a small wolf who was curled up with its fluffy tail poking up.

“I bet Colin’s freaking out about leveling up hehe” Jayce produced an evil chuckle, thinking about the big man’s reaction. He had been checking the faction window every now and then over the past two weeks, noticing that his level had stagnated at 54.

“That should be enough of a kick up the ass for him.” With a satisfied smile, Jayce reached over to the little fur ball next to him and began stroking its fur, like it was a dog.

The next moment his face scrunched up in pain. “Argh”

Jayce lifted his hand, only to see the little fur ball hanging onto his fingers with its razer sharp teeth. He moved his face closer to the cute little thing and warned it, “I’d let go before I make you.”

The little wolf didn’t take him seriously, sending a challenging look his way. It was as if he was daring Jayce to make a move.

Letting out a chuckle, Jayce brought up his right hand, flexing his middle finger upon his thumb as if he was going to flick something. Still calling his bluff, the wolf ignored the gesture, even tightening its grip on his fingers.

Jayce lifted the wolf up higher, his eyes focusing on the little cherries that were dangling helplessly between its legs. It was then that the wolf suddenly felt a wave of danger. The wolf quickly tried to open its jaw and run away, however the moment it did, Jayce grabbed onto its snout and kept it in place.

It was then that Jayce’s flick connected, directly hitting the dangling cherries that had been exposed.

DONG

It was as if the sound of a gong rang out, at least in the wolfs mind, before its body shut down. Falling to the ground, it once again curled up, however unlike before it was not to get some sleep.

The wolf let out little cries and whimpers of pain, pulling on the heartstrings of the people in the area. Lianna and Leah’s ears perked up and quickly ran over, seeing the scene in front of them.

Jayce’s hand was bloody, yet there was a satisfied smile on his face, as if he had just put someone in their place. Their gazes moved to the small wolf whose pitiful state elicited a sympathy.

Lianna quickly headed over to Jayce and began to fawn over him, checking out his wounds before using some healing spells on his hand. Leah also seemed to be concerned about Jayce, paying little attention to the pitiful wolf who was curled up in pain.

It watched on as the humans ignored its existence, removing whatever false sense of illusions of grandeur that it previously had. The wolf originally thought that the girls would fawn over it, after all, they were cuddling and petting it just a few moments earlier saying how cute he was.

Yet it seemed that the human male in front of it held a much higher position in their hearts. It silently vowed to never make such a mistake in front of this alpha again, whimpering in defeat.

Jayce sneered, looking at the defeated wolf in front of him. This was Leah’s new tamed monster, well it was its non-battle form. When in battle form, the thing was almost as large as the Bloodfang Wolf that they had slain a long time ago.

However, it was far stronger at level 60. Yet Leah had tamed it rather easily, considering it was the runt of its pack. After taming the wolf, it had turned into its current form, causing the two girls to fawn over it for its cuteness.

Not long after, Jayce had urged Leah to get on with the class upgrade, the impatience evident on his features.

He placed his hand on her shoulder, using his senses to look within her body at the transformations. The result of this class upgrade would determine their odds of surviving the Invasion in 2 years time, therefore Jayce was rather nervous as he waited for her to accept the upgrade.

A moment later, he felt a surge of energy enter Leah’s body from seemingly nowhere. The golden energy appeared within her blood, muscles and inner organs, flowing around the place with purpose.

The energy almost felt like there was a hint of divinity hidden within it, as if it had been sent down by the gods. Jayce locked onto this energy and followed its path.

Wherever the divine energy passed, the surroundings seemed to pulse with life and power. When it finally got to the navel area of her body, it begun to swirl, forming into something like a vortex.

Jayce’s eyes widened, watching the scene in front of him with rapt attention. Yet in the next moment the vortex broke apart, flying off in two opposite directions.

He felt Leah’s body begin to tremble, clearly in pain, and then it happened. The path that the two halves of energy escaped on began to vibrate fiercely, before something suddenly appeared.

“Meridians…” Jayce muttered, feeling a wave of elation run through his body. He quickly retrieved his senses into his body and removed his hand from Leah’s shoulder, watching her expression.

She still had her eyes closed, in pain from the process of what was happening to her body.

His gaze moved to Lianna who was looking on with concern. She turned to Jayce with a questioning look, to which he responded with a big smile and a thumbs up.

Lianna’s face lit up and she did a little fist pump “Yes!”

Jayce who was still caught up in the moment walked over to her and picked her up into an embrace, spinning her around a few times joyfully. Lianna’s face immediately turned red, however she was quite happy. She wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him back tightly.

The two spun around for a moment, before Jayce slowed down, yet he did not put Lianna down just yet. He stared into her gorgeous green eyes, before his eyes gazed down at her perky red lips that looked succulent.

He unconsciously lent his head forward, as if he wanted to get a taste. Lianna too, felt as if she was being drawn into his orbit, her eyes closed slowly as her lips gravitated towards his.

Their lips met, a simple meeting that spoke of mutual understanding and unspoken emotions. The surroundings faded into the background, and it was just them, in that moment in each others embrace.

The kiss held the warmth of the nature, a brief yet charged moment that seemed to encapsulate the strong connection that had grown between them. It wasn’t just a kiss; it was an acknowledgment of their feelings, an organic spark that had ignited within their hearts.

Jayce cradled Lianna within his arms with a touch that echoed his tender feelings towards her. Their embrace felt as if their souls had intertwined, leading to a suspension in time where they existed as one, sharing each others hopes, pain and fear. As their lips parted, a sense of calm lingered, leaving an invisible thread that connected them through an intangible bond.

In the aftermath, they locked eyes, finding in each other a reflection of the inexplicable bond they’d discovered. There was no awkwardness, nor were there any hidden motives, it was purely the union between two people who had feelings for each other.

“Yes!” Leah whispered and pumped her fist in triumph while hiding behind a tree with her new tamed wolf. She had awoken earlier and beheld the beautiful sight of Jayce finally making a move on her sister. She quickly hid, never letting her gaze leave the two.

“It’s about damn time” she murmured to the small wolf in her arms.
