Chapter 1893 - 1893: The Adventurer Trope

Delia watched her husband disappear, going to the third floor. She heard from the other sisters that her husband did not have much time before returning to the place called Administrator Space. She had heard what that place was about and how good to be an Administrator was. However, the Administrator was out of reach for her, at least she would not be able to get the class in the near future.

Her focus was on getting the Legendary Rank, which was close, soon. She felt like she would be able to get it in a few days if she did an intense hunt, which she planned to do. That is why she wanted to stay on this floor in the hunter village.

She shot a glance at her instructor whose name was Akumbo. The hunter was chosen by her husband to be her guide and teacher during her stay on this floor. To her surprise, her instructor flinched when he met her gaze and immediately looked away.

It might be her husband or the white tiger next to him. That was right, her husband gave her the white tiger, the second gift after the talent. Even though she could not form a bond with it, the white tiger, Gluttony would listen to her order because her husband ordered it to.

The hunter might be afraid of the white tiger because it was God Rank, three whole ranks above her, “So, how do we start, Sir Akumbo?” She addressed her instructor politely.

Her instructor was a Demi-God Rank, two whole ranks above her. She must behave appropriately and respect the people above her rank. Her actions would reflect on her husband and The Tang Empire.

Akumbo shook his head fiercely, “Just call me by name, Lady Delia.”

He found out a few minutes ago that his village’s fate was in his hands. He was tasked to teach the scariest people in his life to teach the player’s wife who managed to tame a God Rank Beast. Not just any beast, but the King of the Beast that had been ruling this place for a long time.

Akumbo did not know why the player chose him to teach his wife when someone like Chief Moussa was here. He believed that Chief Moussa would not be able to refuse the player’s request. However, the player specifically asked for his name. That was a big responsibility for him. He must bring a good result, guiding the player’s wife to be a good hunter. On top of that, her safety was his responsibility as well. If something happened to Lady Delia, then he and his village were done for. The white tiger was enough to massacre most of the villagers if he let that happen.

In the end, he accepted it because of the reward which was in his hand right now. He looked at the black bow in his right hand. The bow had an exquisite design, and it was also made from great and rare material, it was several ranks higher than his previous bow, a Legendary Rank Bow. He could not refuse it because of the bow.

“I don’t mind, but I hope you can treat me as your pupil as well. Scold me if it’s necessary, correct me if I am doing something dumb or wrong. Don’t be afraid to instruct and reprimand me, Akumbo.”

Delia was being serious about learning to be a better hunter. She wanted to be useful, to contribute like the others. This was her chance to catch up with the other sisters.

Tang Shaoyang arrived on the third floor and this time he arrived in the middle of the city. Five guards were stationed around the teleportation, and they immediately flanked him from all sides.

Different from the previous floor, the guards were fully equipped, wearing silver-plated armor with a spear in their right hand.

“You are a player!?” One of the guards said, seemed to be trying to confirm his identity instead of asking him a question. It looked like the guard was eighty percent sure he was a player, seeking the remaining twenty to ensure he was not wrong.

Tang Shaoyang did not immediately answer the guard, waiting for a notification from the System. He was waiting for the quest in case the whole city might be his enemy instead of a guide just like the previous floor. It was possible, anything was possible in this tower.

Ten seconds passed by, and the guards clearly did not like how the guest was not responding to them. They thought they were being ignored. The four guards who had spoken immediately raised their spears, aiming at Tang Shaoyang.

Another five seconds passed, and there was no quest notification, “Yes, I am a player.” He confirmed his identity.

The guard gestured to his comrade to lower their weapon, “You have two choices to advance to the next floor. Do you want me to explain your task here or do you want to be somewhere private?”

The guard remained polite despite the early questionable interaction. He kept it professional and got to the business immediately.

“I don’t really have much time, so please explain it here,” Tang Shaoyang replied.

“Alright,” The guard nodded, “the only way for a player to advance to the next floor is by contributing to the betterment of the city. You have two ways to contribute. First, you can join the city’s army or guard. You will get a contribution point by completing the task given by the army or guard, and you can advance to the next floor after gaining a specific amount of contribution points. I don’t know the specific number because the System is the one who decides the number.”

“Second, you can join the Adventure Guild. You will gain contribution points by completing the request posted on the Adventure Guild’s board. You will get your personal quest after you join either the army or the adventurer to find out how many contributions you need to go to the next floor.”

Tang Shaoyang was not surprised. The Adventure Guild trope that always existed in the dimensional tower or even the Survival Game. He always took the Adventure Guild path, but he was curious about the army. It did not take long for him to decide.

“I will join the Adventure Guild. Can you guide me to the Adventure Guild?”

Despite his curiosity about joining the army, he still chose to be an adventurer. He remembered that there was something else in the army, politics. He hated the political play and did not want to get involved with it in any way. If he could not hold back, he might blow his whole contribution points and be labeled as a traitor instead. Since he preferred speed over enjoying the experience, the adventurer was the better option.

“Follow me,” The guard nodded and turned around, then he instructed the four guards to stay.

Tang Shaoyang followed the guard while inspecting the city through Chaos Eyes. He was surprised by the size of the city. His Chaos Eyes failed to cover the whole city. Even though the guard said it was a city, he thought this was just a town with a few thousand residents.

The buildings around him were the usual fantasy medieval. The road was crowded with people and a carriage pulled by a beast, not a horse. The beast looked like a rhino, slimmer but looked more muscular and taller, reaching three meters in height. They had three horns instead of one, and there was a single spike on their shoulders which was used to tie them up to the carriage.

They were at the center of the city and quickly arrived in front of a massive building, “This is the Adventure Guild. You will receive the quest once you are registered under the guild.”

Tang Shaoyang nodded in response and entered the building alone. He smiled upon entering because Adventure Guild looked similar no matter where he was. Inside the Survival Game, in another world, and inside the dimensional tower, all looked similar.

At the end of the first floor was a long counter with attendants standing behind them. To the right, he could see a massive quest board and a quite number of adventurers browsed the quest. Then benches and tables where the adventurers gathered, whether drinking or having a discussion about their mission.

Once he opened the entrance, everyone was looking in his direction. Most of them immediately focused back on what they were doing. But soon a realization struck them as everyone immediately turned back at Tang Shaoyang. A new face was not equipped, and an unusual outfit told everyone that he was not an adventurer or a local.

Tang Shaoyang could not help but chuckle as he also had experienced all of this and he was no longer bothered by it. It just felt funny to him now. He ignored the stares and walked toward the counter. There was one thing he had not encountered that he usually encountered in this situation. But that was too early to judge because he just entered.

“Hello, I want to register as an adventurer,” He picked an empty line counter and tried to register.

Before the attendant could respond, someone grabbed his left shoulder and pulled him. He let himself get pulled and looked at who grabbed him. A baldy wore plate armor, his face was red, and he was holding a glass in his right hand.

“Brothers, look who wants to register as an adventurer. A snotty brat with no gears tries to get himself killed!”

A laughter echoed following the slurred remark from the baldy.

To everyone’s surprise, “the snotty brat” was not angry at Baldy, in fact, he was smiling, amused. The baldy appearance completed the adventure guild trope, an arrogant adventurer who only dared to bully a newbie.

“There’s still something missing…” Tang Shaoyang muttered in a low voice.

“Stop it, Steven! I will report to the Guild Leader if you make a ruckus again or even if you dare to break the guild’s properties again!” A feminine voice rang.

Tang Shaoyang’s face brightened as the plot was complete. The kind, courageous, and maybe a beauty attendant interfered to help the newbie out. This reminded him of the past, exactly the same.
