Chapter 588: Spin-off: For you!

“Do you say these words without any guilt?”

Qi Muyu simply smiled and asked, “Mr. Chen has no issues, please step aside.”

“Qi Muyu, you might want to reconsider what I said.”

“There’s no need for consideration,” Qi Muyu was not interested in arguing with this kind of person.

“Qi Muyu,” watching the young lady walk past him, Chen Chi narrowed his eyes slightly, his tone turning cold, “I want you to consider.”

It was not a suggestion.

Qi Muyu felt the threat in Chen Chi’s tone and involuntarily stopped in her tracks, turning to stand in front of him again, “Does Mr. Chen wish to coerce me?”

“What if I do?”

“Just because of Chu Fang?”

“Chu Fang is not worthy of you.” He did not admit whether it was or wasn’t because of Chu Fang.

Qi Muyu looked him over critically, “And you are?”

Chen Chi’s face chilled slightly, “Don’t forget on whose ground you stand.”

“I didn’t expect Mr. Chen to be so childish,” Qi Muyu withdrew her contemptuous gaze, “Someone at least two or three years older than me, yet speaking such words.”

Chen Chi’s expression grew darker.

Qi Muyu turned to leave.

“I hope you can always stay by Chu Fang’s side.”

Another thickly veiled threat.

He did not have the foolishness to lay hands on Qi Muyu directly.

Not knowing the details of Qi Muyu’s background, he did not dare to do anything rash.

Anyone who could follow Chu Fang and his company would certainly not be inferior; if their family background was lower, that was still tolerable, but if it was equal or higher, stirring trouble would be a huge problem.

Qi Muyu knew that Chen Chi would not touch her easily, so she did not take today’s incident to heart.

The night gradually approached.

Qi Muyu walked around a few times before returning to the hotel.

On her way back, she received a call from them; they knew Qi Muyu was outside and asked her to wait at the agreed location, saying they would come out immediately.

The spot where Qi Muyu stood was quite noticeable, passersby would glance over at her.

Qi Muyu felt nothing under the gazes of these people.

In the past, when her family went out, they had received gazes much more intense than these.

So the current attention was trivial.

“Why have you stopped walking, Young Master Fei?”

Not far away, a few figures passed by, one of which had a pair of dark and sinister eyes locked on Qi Muyu, lingering for a long time.

After a while, Chen Shunuo and the others arrived.

The pair of eyes still looking in this direction from afar now subtly shifted, then quietly withdrew, as the surrounding flatterers chuckled in compliance, “Does Young Master Fei fancy that chick? How about we take her to a quiet place and have some fun?”

“Slap!”

The flatterer who had spoken spun on the spot after being struck, completely dazed.

The imprint of the slap appeared instantly on his face.

It looked somewhat terrifying.

The sinister young man who had slapped the flatterer narrowed his cold eyes and walked away in silence.

The other flatterers quickly helped the bloodied one to his feet.

Qi Muyu turned her head to look in a direction, only to see a bustling crowd.

“Mu Yu, what’s wrong?”

The others followed her gaze in that direction but also saw nothing.

Qi Muyu shook her head, “It’s nothing.”

“We should leave, I’ve arranged for a friend here to show us around,” Chen Jifeng said.

Qi Muyu was once again introduced to the elite circle of Deep City, meeting sons and daughters of wealth, all from similar family backgrounds. The group of young people could mingle easily without feeling much disparity between them.

They got along quite well.

The first night, they returned to their hotel, but on the second day, after checking out, they moved into a villa owned by one of Chen Jifeng’s friends.

This villa district was relatively new, mostly furnished by wealthy families for their children, providing an appropriate setting for gatherings within their circle and a place to entertain friends.

Although there were a few in their circle who preferred more thrilling pursuits, most wealthy youths were quite disciplined.

Chen Jifeng himself wasn’t the type to engage in wild activities, and his friends were similarly disciplined.

So, everyone felt comfortable staying in the villa.

The villa’s environment was elegant, far more comfortable than staying in a hotel.

During the day, they played outside and mentioned they would be having a birthday party for a younger brother at home in the evening, inviting everyone to join.

Taking advantage of the time before the birthday banquet started, Chen Jifeng led them out to choose a gift for his friend’s brother.

They shopped at upscale places; considering the other party’s status, they couldn’t afford to give anything too cheap.

Qi Muyu wanted to pick a different gift, so she informed them and headed into a side shop. By the time Chen Shunuo and the others turned around, Qi Muyu was already out of sight.

“Where’s Mu Yu?”

“She said she was going to that store over there. Let’s go take a look.”

But as they approached the store, they didn’t see Qi Muyu anywhere.

“Give her a call,” Chen Shunuo suggested, dialing Qi Muyu’s number.

Qi Muyu had walked past a couple of stores and was standing in front of an old-looking shop when she felt her phone vibrate. As she pulled it out, someone bumped into her, sending the phone flying.

Qi Muyu frowned, about to admonish the person, only to see the individuals passing by her seemed to be involved in a dispute, quickly clashing and then separating, each taking a side of her.

She frowned again and stepped between them to pick up her phone from the ground. In a stroke of misfortune, the screen smashed directly on the ground, shattering completely.

It was difficult to even swipe.

Just as she was about to use the side button to answer, the screen went dark!

Qi Muyu’s frown deepened, “You guys…”

“Be careful.”

Qi Muyu saw a gleaming knife edge thrust toward her, pausing in her actions.

The person on her left kicked the attacker away even faster, pulling the stunned Qi Muyu backward and launching another attack at the grown man.

In broad daylight, the teenager and the young man exchanged real punches and kicks, neither giving an inch, each clenching a weapon, attempting to end the other’s life.

Regaining her senses, Qi Muyu removed the card from her phone, then flung the phone forcefully toward the young man.

“Smack!”

It hit him squarely on the head.

The blow caused him pain, but his face showed no sign of hurt as he swept an icy gaze over Qi Muyu and then turned to leave in another direction.

He moved quickly.

And in those few seconds after he left, where no one had been passing by, people began to sparsely appear.

No one had noticed what had just happened here; the shoppers simply hadn’t happened to walk this way during that time.

Qi Muyu went over and tossed the blood-stained broken phone into a trash bin.

“Here.”

A phone with a crisp air was handed to her.

The voice sounded familiar; she felt she had heard it somewhere before.

She looked up at the tall, slender teenager, momentarily taken aback, “I don’t need it.”

A devilishly cold look was evident in the young man’s eyes and brows as he heard Qi Muyu’s response, his handsome brow furrowing slightly.
