Chapter 1892: Stalling Elder Pondwyn II

Elder Pondwyn did not stop his movement, seeing that Grey had been enveloped by his attack, he tried to swallow Grey whole, after all, his tongue tied Grey in place. He soon noticed a strange occurrence when he tried to take back his tongue, it did not budge. The figure covered in green blob was right in front of him, but no matter how he tried, he could not take back his tongue.

Knowing that Grey was obviously resisting, he did not continue to try to take back his tongue that was wrapped around Grey’s figure, rather, he opened his mouth wide enough to swallow a three meters tall man, much less someone like Grey. Reaching where Grey was floating mid-air, he shut his wide-open mouth. Doing this, he tried to swallow Grey whole while not stopping even for a millisecond.

A powerful shockwave came from the mouth of Elder Pondwyn, and his flying figure stumbled in the sky, before he opened his mouth and hurriedly spat out whatever was inside.

“You animal!” Elder Pondwyn roared in pain. His mouth had been blasted by Grey’s attack. Saying this, Elder Pondwyn’s figure turned into a blur.

Grey, whose current appearance was haggard, chased after him. He was currently cursing at Elder Pondwyn with all his might. He was incensed! This Toad almost ate him, something he did not even think of when he came here. Other than the Toad Clan Leader, none of the other Toads have made any advances at him, he was certain the reason for this was most likely Sir Astarot. Facing the betrayer in Elder Pondwyn, he was once again met with the fate of someone or something wanting to eat him.

Elder Pondwyn on the other hand, eyes were filled with dread, he did not think that Grey would be able to escape from his green blob. He thought he would be able to end this battle with this move, but to his surprise, Grey was like an undying cockroach. Hastily, he tried to run away again.

Rage overcame him when Grey, who was bleeding from different parts of his body, still blocked his path.

Grey had a wicked smile on his face as he faced Elder Pondwyn, he did not wait for the Toad to attack him again, rather, taking the initiative he launched a series of attacks.

Elder Pondwyn was beyond himself with rage, he dealt with Grey’s attacks at the cost of slowing down.

“You ungrateful fool!” The enraged voice of the Toad Clan Leader could be heard close to them.

Since Grey and Elder Pondwyn started to exchange blows, it has been just around a minute or so. That was enough time for experts like Sir Astarot and the Toad Clan Leader to travel the distance of a few kilometers.

Elder Pondwyn panicked when he heard the voice and threw everything he had at Grey, while also ramming into Grey’s attacks. He did not have the chance to evade any attack anymore. If he was delayed for even a second longer, then he would be captured and killed when the Toad Clan Leader got here.

Grey noticed Elder Pondwyn was flustered and he became more confident. A flustered expert is bound to make mistakes. His expression changed drastically when he tried to launch another set of attacks. The reason for this was because Elder Pondwyn’s aura has spiked to the Peak of the Eighth Rank. This was no different from a Peak Sovereign, only given Elder Pondwyn’s age and knowledge, he is even stronger than most Peak Sovereigns in this state. Unfortunately, the cost of wielding this strength was tremendous.

Elder Pondwyn’s figure shot like a meteor. The speed was shocking. Grey reacted quickly, making use of his gravitational force field, while also using his space element to the best of his abilities to forcefully push Elder Pondwyn’s fast approaching figure back.

Grey’s attempt proved futile as it was only able to block Elder Pondwyn for a little longer than a quarter of a second, but that was enough for Grey to step aside. After stepping aside, Grey created a large hammer made from the earth element and slammed it down with all his might.

The hammer cleanly struck the large head of Elder Pondwyn, and the momentum sent him crashing towards the ground. Elder Pondwyn reacted quickly, stopping his large frame from touching the ground. At the same time he was just halting his movements, he was covered by a large shadow. Raising his head, Elder Pondwyn cried out in alarm as he saw the large frame of the Toad Clan Leader headed his way.

Planting his hindlegs on the ground, he waited for the perfect time, and just when the Toad Clan Leader was about to land on him, his hindlegs forcefully kicked the ground, giving him the momentum he needed to dodge the attack.

Elder Pondwyn did not go more than fifty meters before he halted in place, the reason for it was the blazing eyes of the Phoenix Clan Leader that was locked on him. The Phoenix Clan Leader was circling the sky, eyes locked on Elder Pondwyn’s every movement.

Elder Pondwyn turned to another direction in fear, only to see the eyes of the Snake Clan Leader that made him despair. Turning around again, he saw the large frame of Sir Astarot, with Grey standing beside him.

‘I’m surrounded.’

Only now did he accept the fact that he could not escape. Looking at Grey, all he felt was rage and hate. If not for this pesky human, he would have been able to escape without anyone knowing he was here. He could not help but wonder how Grey was able to find him. Although the swamp he was hiding in was not discreet, it was not a place weak Toads would even pay any mind. He also hid his aura perfectly, so he did not understand how Grey was able to locate him under such circumstances when even Peak Sovereigns or even Half-God Plane experts would not.
