Chapter 1784 Sir Xavier

1784  Sir Xavier

The two youths had their eyes on Grey, but had different feelings, but it was due to one particular reason. They could tell that Grey was around their age, yet for some reason, Grey could stand side by side in the presence of people they see as Seniors. Mark wanted the Blue and Black Protectors to kill Grey, and he knew that given the duo's usual personality, they would've done this already. But for some reason, the duo were actually hesitating. This meant only one thing, Grey was stronger than they were. If Grey was stronger than the duo, that meant he was a Sovereign, and not a weak one at that. Seeing someone their age have strengths they were still dreaming to acquire almost shattered them. Grey looked at the duo, not expecting them to want to settle this matter. Nonetheless, since they wanted to settle the matter, that was for the best. He wasn't too close to the McCall Family, so having to go through the hassle of most likely offending the Raging Flame Faction wasn't something Grey was willing to do. It's not that he was scared, but offending the Raging Flame Faction will only mean death for the McCall Family. His name could act as a deterrent for a few years, but when they eventually find out that he isn't in the McCall Family any longer, then the family was as good as gone. The old man from the McCall Family had his eyes on Grey, and hearing how he didn't put the City Lord in his eyes, he felt hope. Grey stepping out to save them will naturally save them from death, but he also understood that Grey can't stay here. So settling this matter in an amicable way was the best. With Grey's name, they could at least ensure their survival. For him, that's all that matters. So after hearing the Blue Protector's words, he looked at Grey expectantly, hoping that he'll be wise enough to take the McCall Family's overall survival in mind. And just as he thought, Grey indeed placed the McCall Family's survival first. "That'll be for the best." Grey nodded, he had removed his palm from the old man's shoulder. So after saying this, he looked at the Blue and Black Protectors and asked, "What about the matter here?" "Since Your Excellency has already stepped in to mediate, then we'll leave it as it is." The Blue Protector replied, using his mental energy to block the region, making sure it's impossible for those other than Grey, himself, and the Black Protector heard him. "Alright." Grey nodded, he looked at the old man from the McCall Family and said, go back, I'll come see you in a few minutes after attending to them. The old man from the McCall Family nodded and flew down. He thanked the Blue and Black Protectors, before telling the others to head into the manor. "Where do you think you're going?" Mark's annoyed voice rang out. Since Grey appeared, he has been treated like he didn't exist. This is something he couldn't take. He was usually the one who treated people in this manner. Even though he knew that Grey was very powerful, he didn't think that he was stronger than his father. His father was a Third stage Sovereign, and the Blue and Black Protectors, although being First stage Sovereigns could at least fight him for a short time. Since Grey isn't as strong as his father, then the two Protectors should be able to deal with him. This was what he believed. The old man from the McCall Family paused, he didn't think that Mark would stop him as he retreated. He turned to look at Grey, who had a carefree expression on his face. Grey didn't even spare Mark a glance as he said to the duo, "I'm short on time. If you want to discuss anything further, then we should leave. If you have nothing to talk about, I have things to deal with and can't accompany you any longer."

With this statement, under the shocked gazes of the Blue and Black Protectors, he turned around and flew to the side of the old man before telling him to lead the way into the manor. "Are you deaf? I asked where you were going?" Mark looked at Grey and the old man coldly. "Mar..." "Uncle Blue, don't tell me you believe he's stronger than Father?" Mark asked, he didn't want to let this matter rest, "I've already contacted Father. Even if you believe you two are not his match, you can hold him down until Father arrives." "Kid, I admire your personality, but one should know when to take a step back." The Black Protector sighed before appearing behind Mark and knocking him out. It's not that he didn't want to make Grey suffer, but he was worried that Grey might kill Mark before Sir Xavier arrived. They didn't know what movement technique Grey used to appear behind the old man from the McCall Family a few minutes back, so if Grey were to use it and kill Mark, then they would be in trouble. Sir Xavier isn't the issue, rather it was Sir Xavier's father, Mark's grandfather. Sir Xavier might be strong, but not to the point where he could have two First stage Sovereigns following his son. Only the City Lord had this privilege, and the City Lord dotted on Mark a lot. Most people are aware of this, hence the reason Mark could do as he pleased. The reason they didn't use the City Lord's name is because over the past hundred years, Sir Xavier was the one dealing with everything concerning the City. It was almost like the position had been passed on to him by his father. No one had any issues with this since Sir Xavier was the son of the City Lord, and the position is naturally with the strongest expert sent here by the Raging Flame Faction. The City Lord had gained a lot of connections over thousands of years, so he had put this position on lock down for a few hundred years now.

The Blue Protector didn't have any issues with what the Back Protector did. If he hadn't done it, then he would've been the one to do it. Seeing that Mark was out cold, he looked at Grey and said, "I believe we can head out for the discussion now?"

Grey smiled and nodded. He didn't know what the duo wanted to speak with him about, but he sensed the energy fluctuations from their communication devices. After creating something like this, there was no way he wouldn't be sensitive to it. So the second the Blue Protector used it, Grey knew. The Blue Protector even used it as soon as Grey appeared. This was also one of the reasons he didn't act rashly. Anyone this cautious will not want to be on the losing side. People like the Blue Protector can easily swallow insults for a few hundred years and not react, slowly biding their time. Grey didn't even think that the Blue Protector was a good person, he stood there and allowed Mark use his influence to want to force someone into committing suicide, that was enough to show the type of person he was. So since he called for back up first before even showing signs of lowering his head, Grey knew that this old man wasn't an ordinary person. Luckily, he was stronger, so he didn't need to fear the old man's tricks. Grey left with Mark's group, leaving the other matters to the old man from the McCall Family. He knew that no one would dare to touch them. And it was just as he thought, after leaving, the group from the McCall Family entered the manor and shut it. With no one else present, the crowd naturally dispersed. ….

Somewhere in Raging Flame City. Grey was seated on a soft chair, enjoying the tea he was served. The Blue and Black Protector had been asking him a few prefectunary questions, and after not getting any meaningful reply from Grey, they told him to wait as they had a gift for him. Since it was their first meeting, they wanted to create a good relationship between the two sides. Grey sneered, he almost wanted to ask them if they thought he was a child that could be easily tricked. The gift the Blue and Black Protector were going to bring will naturally be Sir Xavier or someone else who could help fight against Grey. Not just that, but Grey also sensed the presence of an array in this building. He couldn't help but chuckle. The second he entered this place, he had already found the weakness in the array. A few minutes later, an imposing aura appeared in Grey's senses. The person wasn't present yet, but Grey was sure that it was none other than Sir Xavier.
