Chapter 1504: Intercepting Stars and Seizing Good Fortune

Chapter 1504: Intercepting Stars and Seizing Good Fortune

When Lu Qing'er saw the duo holding hands yet again, her expression turned unnatural. There was still a hint of fury and humiliation within the depths of her gaze. She would never admit that what she saw in the mirror pillar were her deepest thoughts. It was clearly the pillar attempting to influence her heart!

She quietly circulated the energy of the Permafrost Sacred Seed throughout her body until she felt her temperature drop. Li Hongyou and Chi Chan swiftly moved two steps away from her. However, Lu Qing'er's mood quickly regained its usually iciness and calm with the aid of her frost resonant power.

The complicated emotions in her heart were frozen away.

Li Luo then smiled at the three ladies. "Congratulations on arriving at the thirty-third layer."

"I never thought I'd be able to fumble my way here. It seems that the Celestial Mirror Martial Exchange's thirty-second layer trial was a little easier when compared to the past."

Chi Chan was a little surprised. She had never imagined she would manage to make her way up here by herself. The reason she was able to complete the thirty-first layer's Nine Finger Peaks was because of Li Luo's support and protection. Otherwise, with her fifth-grade Duke strength, there was no chance that she could have resisted the terrifying thunderbolts. After entering the thirty-second layer, she had already given up all hopes of progressing. However, who would have expected that the thirty-second layer's trial didn't have anything to do with one's strength, but was instead a trial of the heart? This gave her a chance to succeed.

"It means that your inner heart is unwavering, Mentor Chi Chan, unable to be influenced by external forces. However, it looks like Mi Er and Cao Sheng have both been eliminated," Li Luo said.

The two remaining mentors had not appeared, and that was the likely explanation. The mirror pillar would question one's heart and was rather esoteric; even an eighth-grade Duke could potentially be eliminated by it. Conversely, a trial like this also meant that Li Hongyou, a second-grade Duke, would have a chance to pass as well.

Chi Chan gave a wry smile. "It looks like our luck isn't bad. However, now that we are here, I don't think I can proceed any further."

Over the years, this was where most of the experts of the Academic Federation stopped. No matter what was thrown at them, it was unlikely that she would be able to handle it. Furthermore, she didn't intend to rely on Li Luo's protection any further. At this point, all of the top experts would be doing their utmost, fighting tooth and nail for the opportunities here. By following him, she would only be a burden.

"After passing the thirty-second layer, I feel like my resonant power has advanced!" Chi Chan exclaimed in joy, suddenly changing the topic.

Li Luo nodded as he felt the same way. It seemed that questioning his own heart was like a form of baptism. Once he had gone through it, his resonant power had improved. Although this change wasn't significant enough to bring him to the upper third-grade, it saved him countless months worth of time bitterly cultivating. Thus, Li Luo could only sigh in amazement at the miracles this place was capable of.

However, the true opportunity didn't lie on the thirty-third layer.

Li Luo looked around. Currently, there were just a few people present. However, each one of them exuded mighty resonant power undulations. Four of them were upper eighth-grade Dukes.

Diwu Mingxuan and Lu Ruyan were here as well.

What surprised Li Luo was the fact that Guo Jiufeng was also present. It seemed that the East Divine Continent's Enlightened Sage College vice principal had also succeeded in making his way here. Then again, the fact that Li Hongyou and Chi Chan had managed to reach this point meant that it was reasonable that the sixth-grade Guo Jiufeng had reached similar heights. However, Li Luo was once again reminded of Jiang Qing'e's words, and he couldn't help but feel a little bit of wariness in his heart. Could it be that Guo Jiufeng was a problem?

He briefly pondered over the matter but couldn't find an answer. Thus, he shelved the thought. This was, after all, the Celestial Mirror Pagoda and there were three Kings from the Academic Federation watching over the competition. Even if Guo Jiufeng was problematic, it wasn't something he would have to deal with.

He then looked up and saw innumerable stars twinkling. Each of these stars gave off an inscrutable light, and simply looking at them gave one an inexplicable feeling of being in a drunken fervor.

It was at this point that Li Luo saw purple smoke descend from the sky, taking the form of an ancient script.

Everyone immediately started observing the changes closely.

Stars descend from the sky. Intercept them and seize good fortune!

Those present began to silently contemplate what these words meant. It looked as though the stars in the sky were the opportunities available on the thirty-third layer. These stars would descend, and if one wanted the vaunted opportunities they contianed, they'd have to intercept them?

Li Luo smacked his lips in excitement. The stakes were much higher on the thirty-third layer and the rewards were magnificent.

Bang!

The entire world suddenly rumbled! The stars then began to fall, one after another, transforming into gigantic fireballs that arced across the horizon. All of the worldly natural energy around them was whipped into a frenzy. π‚ΠΓΆπ›ΖπŒ”

It was then that they could see dazzling light that was often found emitting from valuable treasures coming from the stars!

Perhaps they contained aunrivaled ancient pills, peak-grade spirit liquids and purifying lights, high-grade Mythic Armaments, King-grade rare materials, Duke or even Transcendent grade Duke Arts!

Greed surfaced in everyone's eyes.

However, since there were so many stars, how could one identify which ones held actual treasures?

Li Luo then glanced at Jiang Qing'e and asked in a low voice, "Can you sense any Transcendent Arts?"

He had come to the Celestial Mirror Pagoda for the Greater Acquired Resonance Godly Forging Art and Jiang Qing'e was here for a Light Transcendent Art. Li Luo wished to help her achieve her goal as well.

Runes condensed on Jiang Qing'e's body and her Archaic Runes activated, flowing with sacred light. Her golden eyes seemed capable of seeing through everything as she scanned the falling stars.

A moment later, she shook her head. "I can't sense any traces of a Light Transcendent Art from those stars."

With her Heart of Light guiding her way, she had a keen sense for such an object. However, there was no reaction to any of the stars, which meant that there wasn't one present here.

Li Luo similarly felt a little disappointed. Clearly, the thirty-third layer was not where it could be found, which actually seemed normal. If a Transcendent Art could be so easily obtained, then it wouldn't be worthy of such a title.

"However..." Jiang Qing'e's lips parted and a burning spirit could be seen in her golden eyes. "This place does contain a Light Transcendent Art!"

Li Luo was taken aback. What did she mean? Didn't she just say that there were no such fluctuations coming from the falling stars? He paused as he quickly understood what she meant. His gaze shifted to the skies above, where there were countless blazing stars still hanging quietly with no intention to descend.

Jiang Qing'e's meaning was that one of the stars that had yet to fall contained it!

It seemed that the real treasures wouldn't fall on their own.

Li Luo helplessly said, "It seems that obtaining a Transcendent Art requires some luck. We'll have to wait for that particular star to fall before we can grab it."

However, it didn't seem like they were going to be that lucky.

Jiang Qing'e then shook her head. Her eyes glittered with light as she slowly said, "That might not be the case. If the stars don't fall, I'll bring them down myself."

Li Luo's eyes widened. She would force the star to descend? Just what sort of wild belief did she have?
