A Journey That Changed The World

Chapter 1451: What Brings You Out Here?

Chapter 1451: What Brings You Out Here?

Once the battle was over, Olivia sailed toward the location Archer gave her and ordered the fleet into a bombardment formation, while other ships patrolled the area to protect them from any other Alliance fleets.

’What is this handsome devil up to?’ she mused, grinning.

Upon their arrival, Olivia issued the order to launch the missiles. The entire fleet unleashed its arsenal, and a maelstrom of fire and destruction erupted, with explosions reverberating across the churning waves.

Her pink eyes fixed on the horizon as the missiles streaked through the sky, their fiery tails carving arcs of purpose toward the distant shore. The sea roiled beneath the fleet, reflecting the chaos above in its restless waves.

Each projectile sliced through the air with a piercing hum, a relentless swarm of fury aimed with precision at the rugged, jagged coastline. Her heart thundered in her chest, chaos unfolding before her, as the first explosions erupted across the shore.

Brilliant, fiery blooms of destruction unfurled, hurling plumes of thick, acrid smoke and shattered debris high into the sky, painting a scene of raw power and devastation that held her in a grip of awe and dread.

Just then, explosions erupted in the distance as a lookout rushed onto the bridge, exclaiming. ’’We just hit a massive shield, Admiral!’’

Olivia smiled at the man’s words before Archer’s voice echoed in her mind. ’Return back to Emberport, my love. Thank you for the help.’

’You’re welcome, handsome,’

the older woman replied sweetly.

Archer couldn’t help but smile at her response before turning back to the ongoing battle that was causing chaos across the land. The Demons had started firing their cannons, forcing the Draconian Mages to react instantly.

As the 1st Legion marched forward in perfect formations, as the shields protected them from the enemy assault, though he did see the defenders activate thanks to his dragon eyes that allowed him to sense the energy covering the castle.

’The Legionnaires or Drakeguards won’t be able to climb it,’ he mused before coming up with an idea.

His smile grew wide as he summoned his Honor Guard. ’’Thalion! And the First Company!’’

This scared the surrounding soldiers, but their attention was quickly caught when a violet portal tore open beside him. Moments later, the air changed as the Oathkeeper Commander stepped out.

Archer loved the knights as they were his most loyal soldiers, and he greeted them with a big smile. ’’Thal! It’s good to see you, buddy. The last few months have been crazy.’’

’’You’re right, My Lord,’’ the older man bellowed. ’’It makes me happy to see you smiling, it shows that you’re not the monster everyone thinks.’’

’’Forget about them, my old friend,’’ he replied, chuckling. ’’I need you and the First Company to take down the Darkthorne defences so the 1st Legion can attack.’’

When Thalion heard this, he glanced at the fortress and nodded confidently. ’’You know we can lay waste to it alone, but we’ll bring it down for the normal soldiers.’’

Archer started laughing and slapped the man on the back. ’’Soon the First will be busy guarding my children, make the most of it as I’ll only summon you in dire need.’’

’’Yes, My Lord!’’ he exclaimed with eyes full of excitement as the Oathkeepers couldn’t wait for the births of the first princes or princesses.

Their loyalty boomed as Thalion declared to High Command that him and the First Company will guard the children and die for them if the need arises. When Archer heard this he was touched.

Following that, the other Oathkeepers appeared, shocking the normal Draconians who had never seen the black armored giants. Just then, Thalion and the others jumped off the wall, crashing into the ground as the 1st Legion marched.

Elara called for them to stop and wait thanks to a message from Archer as the one hundred armored giants started sprinting toward the Demon Fortress that scared the shit out of the enemy when spotting them.

They fired all kinds of projectiles, spells and damn rocks but the Oathkeepers barreled through them like unstoppable tanks that shrugged Mana Shells off as arrows and spells bounced off their enchanted armor.

The Draconian soldiers froze in shock at the sight, but the Demons descended into sheer panic, their ranks unraveling as the black-armored knights emerged, their presence an ominous tide of dread.

Archer sensed the air grew heavy with tension, each breath labored as the ground seemed to shudder beneath the thunderous march of the black-armored knights. Their swords, dark as night, gleamed with a cruel hunger, thirsting for the clash to come.

The Demons’ frantic screams pierced the chaos, but their desperation only fueled the knights’ relentless advance. At the forefront, Thalion raised a great sword that pulsed with an eerie, malevolent glow. His voice, deep and commanding, rolled over the battlefield like a death knell.

’’Surrender or be swept into the shadows,’’ he screamed, the promise of annihilation clear in his tone.

But from the shattered ranks of the Demons, a defiant roar erupted. A colossal beast, scarred and bloodied, charged with a furious bellow, its claws raking the earth as it lunged toward the nearest knight.

Steel met flesh, and the clash of war erupted anew, echoing like a savage storm. Archer was happy with this and quickly teleported to Elara, who was behind the 1st Legion, shocking the Dragonkin woman.

’’Oh hello Arch,’’ she greeted. ’’What brings you out here?’’

’’Watching the battle before heading to Draconia,’’ he answered, smiling. ’’I need to help Teuila and Nefertiti with the Pluoria invasion.’’

Elara laughed at this and nodded. ’’Always on the move, the Alliance will be shocked when we land in the Southlands.’’

Archer was curious and revealed. ’’I’m going to use my Monster Army to deal with the overwhelming numbers.’’

The woman’s heart swelled with agreement, and she suddenly stepped forward, her arms enveloping him in a warm, heartfelt embrace. He welcomed the gesture, his arms encircling her.

’’What’s this for, beautiful?’’ he questioned.

Elara giggled as she confessed with red cheeks. ’’Because I love you so much.’’

He stood speechless, his mind racing as he gazed at her, the weight of the moment pressing against his chest. Before words could form, he leaned in, his lips meeting hers in a fleeting, tender kiss that carried the unspoken depth of their bond.

The moment was shattered as a screech tore through the air, sharp and ominous, heralding the chaos to come. Massive boulders, jagged and colossal, hurtled toward the Oathkeepers with terrifying speed, their shadows darkening the ground below.

His head snapped toward the onslaught, his eyes locking onto Thalion, slicing through one of the enormous stones. The stone split cleanly in two, its halves crashing to the earth with a shuddering roar, sending up clouds of dust and splintered rock.

Archer’s senses sharpened, and a surge of powerful mana pulsed through the air, prickling his skin like static before a storm. His gaze shifted to the knights, charging toward the enemy castle with unnatural speed and ferocity.

The mana radiating from them was thick, almost tangible, a dark and potent force that seemed to warp the very air around them. His heart quickened, not with fear, but with a mix of awe and realization.

’Holy shit,’ he thought, his mind alight with fascination. ’They’re getting stronger, way stronger.’

Moments later, his eyes darted from the shattered remnants of the large stone to the knights, their silhouettes now breaching the outer ramparts of the enemy castle. Each step they took seemed to pulse with raw power.

The Oathkeepers rallied behind Thalion, their weapons drawn, faces set with grim determination. Another earsplitting screech rent the air, and he waved his hand to destroy the projectiles with a single thought.

When this happened, the Oathkeepers jumped onto the wall, causing the Demon soldiers to panic at the sight of the giant black knights. After that, he continued watching as his Honor Guards butchered the enemies.

’It’s time for the main show,’ he thought. ’The 1st should be able to take it without many casualties.’

Blood covered the walls, and soon the shield stopping the normal soldiers from breaching the wall fell, causing the 1st Legion to charge forward as the Thunderbolt throwers erupted and explosions erupted across the defences.

Archer’s gaze locked onto Elara’s, his eyes conveying a silent command. With a nod, he signaled the advance, and her fiery red hair blazing like a beacon in the dim light of the war-torn battlefield, let out a fierce, guttural roar that echoed across the ranks.

The sound was a rallying cry, igniting the spirits of the Drakeguards as they surged forward, heavy boots pounding the earth in unison as the Legionnaires covered for them using their shields.

Clutched in their iron grips were sturdy ladders, their wooden frames creaking under the weight of purpose as they prepared to scale the towering walls of the enemy fortress. Once they reached the wall, the fight got even more intense.
