A Journey That Changed The World
Chapter 1354 1354: I Didn't Want To FightArcher glanced at Talila before nodding. ”Yes, they are also Placidians that were experimented on by the Terravians,” he revealed the shocking truth.
When the silver-haired elf heard this, her red eyes widened in horror. ”They’re people? What happened to them?”
”I’m not sure, to be honest,” he answered with a sigh. ”I can eat their soul and find out what happened, but that destroys a person forever, which is horrible.”
”What do you mean?” Hemera asked as she woke up with a small smile.
Archer glanced at the sun elf before explaining. ”Everyone knows about the soul but most don’t know that there’s something beyond. I’ll call it the Highway of Souls, this pass distributes the dead to all different worlds so they can be reborn.”
He looked at the creature and continued. ”It’s a second chance, but now I’m left with this creature that I’ll recruit to the monster army.”
Following that, Archer opened a portal back to the fortress, allowing the soldiers to retreat to safety along with Hemera and Talila. The two elves said their farewell before going to get some rest.
”I’m staying with you,” Ashoka said with a determined voice.
”That’s fine, my tigress,” he answered with a charming smile.
Moments later, a portal opened only for Demetra and Kassandra to appear with big smiles. The Kraken quickly hugged him while speaking in a cheerful tone. ”Hello husband, we wanted to come to see you.”
”Yes, slaughtering sea monsters was starting to lose its thrill,” the shark woman remarked with a smirk, leaning in to plant a kiss on him.
The pair then turned to Ashoka, exchanging warm greetings. The tigress returned the gesture with a nod before tilting her head, curiosity glinting in her eyes. ”Still, too many monsters attacking?” she asked.
”Unfortunately,” Kassandra answered with a tired sigh. ”They keep attacking the deepsea forces which is annoying because the bases cannons tear them apart but the damn things keep coming.”
”Interesting,” he spoke with a smirk. ”Well, luckily, I’ve got some Ironclaw Crabs and Deepsea Squids growing in the Domain. Once they’re ready, I’ll use them as soldiers to fight the monsters.”
The two women were shocked but Demetra commented. ”And you have those horrible Burrowfiends, they creep me out whenever I run into them.”
Archer laughed when hearing that before asking. ”Have they bothered you?”
”No, it’s their multiple arms and beady little eyes that never leave you until they vanish out of sight,” the shark woman replied with a huff.
Following that, the Jungle Beetle tried to attack, but he backhanded the monster, forcing it to explode. The three women quickly dodged the gore that sprayed everywhere as Ashoka commented with wide eyes. ”Those things were tough, we struggled with it, yet you slapped it to death.”
He turned to the brown-skinned beauty with a charming smile. ”You need to remember I’m a dragon power by the mana of the world. You beauties will become this strong soon enough, I don’t want any of you dying on me.”
The trio beamed before Kassandra teased. ”Would you come to the underworld to save us?”
”Yes,” he instantly answered just as more Jungle Beetles appeared.
Archer cast Cosmic Shield around the women while explaining. ”Stay here and let me know if any sneak up on me.”
Moments later, a swarm of monsters rushed out and started swinging at him, but he blocked the attacks, causing shockwaves to wash over the clearing. He countered by freeing their souls to pass over.
The creatures dropped to the ground, which left an eerie silence over the battlefield. He grabbed one of the Jungle Beetles before speaking in a low, threatening voice. ”Take me to where all of you are living, or I’ll kill every single one of you creatures.”
Archer watched as the monster trembled at his overwhelming power, forcing it to agree to his demands. He noticed the other beasts backed off when the one he threatened let out a strange chittering noise.
Following that, he returned to the three women who were staring at him with shocked expressions, prompting Ashoka to question. ”How do you do that? It’s like mind control, but it’s not.”
”My dragon’s aura, my love,” he answered before leaving them and heading through the jungle.
The four of them followed the narrow pathway guided by the Jungle Beetles, but a growing unease gnawed at him. Moments later, his instincts proved right as dozens of towering guardians emerged from the shadows, surrounding them.
Archer didn’t speak but quickly appeared in front of the closest monster and unleashed a deadly dragon’s breath. The violet flames washed over a few of the beasts as they turned to ash within moments.
Kassandra rushed forward with a gleam in her dark eyes and unleashed a deadly punch that sent one of the Jungle Beetles flying through the air. He looked at the Kraken woman, who was smiling at him.
”I wanted to see how strong I’ve got and it looks like it’s better than I expected it,” she commented excitedly.
Following that, Demetra joined in, and the three of them ended up butchering the creepy humanoid insects with ease. Ashoke watched the scene with wide eyes as she muttered. ”They are so strong.”
Archer grabbed the last guardian and crushed it before summoning an army of Chull Warriors who appeared around him while letting out an enraged chittering. The three women jumped back as Valariana stepped out of the portal.
”I can smell a queen nearby, and she’s hostile, my love,” the blonde said with a warm smile before she turned to the other. ”Hello, ladies, it’s good to see you three looking more beautiful than ever.”
Kassandra beamed. ”Thanks, Val, it’s been some time since we’ve seen you,” she replied.
After the greetings the group traveled through the forest as the Chull quickly jumped the remaining Jungle Beetles and tore them apart. The three women wanted to check out the fortress prompting him to open a Gate.
Each of them pressed a kiss to his cheek before stepping through the portal to join Hemera, Talila, and Maeve, leaving Valariana standing alone. Archer turned to the muscular woman, his brow furrowing as he asked, ”Why didn’t you go with the others? Did they invite you?”
”They did, but I wanted to stay with you,” she replied while smiling. ”I always get happy when spending time together.”
Archer nodded before grabbing the woman’s hand as she ordered the Chull into the Jungle Beetles colony. The lobster-like monsters barrelled through the defenders thanks to being stronger.
Their pincers crushed exoskeletons and destroyed the guardian’s thick carapace with ease while letting out a creepy clicking sound. As this happened Valariana explained. ”They communicating with each other, I believe they are excited to be used in a battle by you.”
”Interesting,” he spoke while entering the dark tunnel, but thanks to his eyes, he was able to see.
While walking the Chull Queen commented while glancing around. ”These are strong but there’s something wrong with them.”
”The Terravians mixed the beetles with the people who used to live on Placidia and turned them into these beasts,” Archer explained as he spotted the queen’s chamber in the distance.
When Valariana heard this her dark eyes widened in horror as he stopped walking while sending the Chull back to the Domain which confused the woman prompting her to ask. ”Why did they vanish?”
Archer raised his hand, conjuring an orb of mana that pulsed with energy. He channeled more power into it, supercharging the spell until the projectile trembled violently. With a flick of his wrist, he opened a Gate.
”Head to the fortress once I launch this,” he instructed.
The blonde nodded, stepping toward the portal. Archer hurled the mana orb into the chamber, its raw energy crackling erupted as he pushed Valariana through it and the two of them were safe.
Just then, the fortress shook thanks to the explosion that rocked everything around them even though it was far away. The Chull Queen looked at him with wide eyes before commenting. ”That was scary, husband. That sort of power is dangerous.”
Archer agreed with a nod. ”Lucky it’s with me then?”
Following that, Demetra, Kassandra, Talila, Hemera, Ashoka, and Maeve were sitting around the living room with wide eyes. The orange-haired woman was the first to speak. ”What was that, Arch? Did you collapse a mountain or something?”
He was about to speak, but Valariana interrupted. ”He cast a powerful spell that made my skin crawl before throwing it into the queen’s chamber as she was wild and wouldn’t be tamed like we were.”
Archer laughed before nodding. ”I didn’t want to fight them. It’s tiring talking to monsters who are stubborn.”
After speaking, he sat down in between Hemera and Demetra who welcomed him with warm smiles. Without warning, his head plopped down on the sun elf’s shoulder while reaching over and playing with the shark woman’s soft navy hair.
The two of them enjoyed the smell gesture but Archer soon felt relaxed and soon fell asleep which made the group gush over him. Kassandra’s eyes narrowed at Hemera as she spoke. ”Lucky girl, he looks adorable like that.”
