A Farmer's Journey To Immortality

Chapter 521: “When You Bully the Bullies, It Becomes An Act of Justice.”

The demon bears were special for Aksai.

They were the first batch of genetically modified woodland creatures he had created by combining the knowledge he possessed from all three paths—Spirit, Qi, and Aether.

The real-time data collected from using them in real battles would help Aksai create even more powerful woodland creatures in the future.

The sect elders didn’t speak. They simply stood there, too stunned to find the right words.

Aksai smiled again, as if everything happening around him was perfectly normal.

“Well then,” he said, stepping back and letting the bears move forward.

“Let the training begin.”

Raaaaaawr!

The six woodland demon bears responded at once. A deep, beastly cry rolled through the dome as all six released their Spirit pressure.

Their roars echoed like thunder, making the wooden walls vibrate. Despite their unnatural calm, they still carried the fury and power of their beastly woodland bloodlines.

In a blink, four of the bears rushed forward. Each of them picked a different sect elder and launched into battle. The ground cracked under their weight.

Their large, clawed limbs swung with speed far beyond what should have been possible for creatures their size. Bark-like armor covering their bodies shimmered faintly with Qi essence, and the moss clinging to them sparkled with wood-element Spirit energy.

The two demon bears that stayed back moved as well. They didn’t join the direct fight. Instead, they circled, staying light on their paws, observing the battle and waiting for the right moment to strike. Their glowing eyes flicked from target to target, working like sentient trap-setters ready to spring into motion.

Almost in perfect rhythm, twenty Sentient Scarecrow Fiends moved next. Their stitched-up bodies dragged eerie shadows behind them. Though they made no sound, their movement was fast and methodical. They didn’t rush in to attack. Instead, they spread out and surrounded the four sect elders, forming a loose circle with no clear way out.

And then came the final weight.

The Verdant Elder, the massive demon beast that looked like a walking tree fused with a mountain of muscle, let out a roar as well. It raised both its arms—vines, branches, and thorny roots slithering around them like living weapons—and began casting wood-element Spirit spells.

Thick, sharp roots shot out from the ground, trying to trap and pierce the elders. From its back, spore-like puffs of green fog burst into the air, drifting toward the enemies to distract and weaken their focus.

The elders were now under full assault—from all sides and angles.

Aksai didn’t stay to watch it closely. He simply walked back to the campfire like none of it mattered.

He sat down on the same wooden log he had been using earlier. His black cloak fluttered gently as he sat, eyes still glowing faintly with green light.

A smile crept across his face, not out of joy, but a quiet satisfaction. His woodland bloodline experiments and fresh approaches to previous theories were showing promising results.

Yelia appeared from the shadows not far away. She looked like she had walked straight out of the forest, her long hair swaying as she moved. With a soft smile on her lips, she joined Aksai on the log and looked out at the battle.

“My liege,” she said in a light voice, “don’t you think you are bullying them too much?”

Aksai didn’t say anything at first. He held up the wine glass in his hand—the same one he had emptied earlier. Without needing another word, Yelia reached for the wine bottle beside her. She picked up the Bacchus’ Blessing bottle, uncorked it, and poured it into Aksai’s glass until it was full.

Only after taking a sip did Aksai speak.

“Maybe,” he said quietly. “But who says bullying is always a bad thing? When you bully the bullies, it becomes an act of justice.”

He held the wine glass loosely as he looked at the battle with steady eyes.

“These sects—no matter how big or small—think of drifting cultivators like us as bugs. They think they can squash us whenever they like. As long as they don’t offend someone stronger, they do whatever they want to those without backing.”

He glanced at Yelia with a hollow chuckle.

“Imagine my state if I didn’t have the trump cards I have now. Forget the Big Five of the righteous faction or the three big sects from the demonic side. Even a middle-tier sect like Iron Mountain would have robbed me dry the moment they thought I had something worth taking.”

He took another sip of wine, his voice steady and low.

“And Iron Mountain isn’t even at the top of the middle-tier ladder. They’re barely hanging on. If that’s how they treat me, I can only imagine what the Silver Moon Palace would do.

They’re one of the strongest sects that seems to have joined Kalingoot. Their only flaw is not having a Core Formation Lord. Otherwise, they’d be considered a top-tier force and worthy of joining the same high table as the Big Five Sects.”

He paused, watching as one of the demon bears used its massive paw to shatter a glowing Spirit shield.

“They’ll come for me soon. I know it. The Iron Mountain Sect is just the beginning. The Emerald Cove will become a target for all of Kalingoot sooner or later.”

He stared into the fire, the green glow returning to his eyes for a brief second.

“All I can do now… is make a statement. So that’s what I’ll do.

I’m sure the sect elders’ disappearance would be investigated by the Iron Mountain Sect. So I want them to know that targeting me would come at a heavy cost.

That way, they would stop and reconsider their moves. This hesitation will only last for a short time and they’ll sooner or later try to join the Kalingoot.

But that short time of hesitation would be enough for me to act.”

His voice dropped lower, colder.

“If the Iron Mountain Sect has chosen to be my enemy, I’ll crush it. Fully. Before it can even think of joining hands with Kalingoot to come after my home.”

Yelia looked at him for a long moment. Then she simply nodded, her smile fading as the truth of Aksai’s words settled in.

The fire crackled quietly between them.

And in front of them, the most “unfair” battle the four sect elders of the Iron Mountain Sect had ever fought raged on.

Just found out that Michael C. Hall’s Dexter is making a comeback in July 2025. I’m kinda excited!

I was a big fan of the original series and all the OSTs in it. If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely give it a shot. Have an awesome day! 🙂
