After the battle on the bridge, many reporters were near Elein's house. It was a famous place, as it was a huge mansion that could be seen from almost anywhere in the city.
Elein's family was very wealthy, however, she did not have a happy life like other people, although she had money.
Her parents were dead, and her grandfather, who had taught her much, could not resist old age, so death took him several years ago. The only one left was Osvald, in fact, he was the only person she trusted in the whole huge mansion.
That day, all the reporters on duty saw a bright white flash, on one floor. Presumably, that was where Elein's capsule room was located.
Crackling.
Still unaware of what was happening, Osvald ran toward Elein's room, quickly opening every door in his path.
The servants were frightened, they thought like the others that an earthquake had started, so they rushed to run outside. Osvald on the other hand didn't even think about it, he was worried about Elein, who had entered Fallen Fate half an hour ago.
"Elein! We have to go now!" Osvald exclaimed as she entered Elein's room, then his eyes went wide at what he saw.
As with Zayne, instead of a capsule, there was now a wide portal. However, immediately afterward, significant differences began to emerge.
Elein, unlike Zayne, was able to exit the portal herself. When she touched the ground, the portal closed, and the white flash disappeared, as did the earthquake.
"Elein... What happened to you...?" Osvald asked with a trembling look.
Crackling.
Elein fell to one knee as she thrust her katana into the ground to keep from falling. Osvald hadn't yet noticed that the katana that was in Elein's hand was from Fallen Fate Online. He was too worried and only thought about Elein being okay.
Osvald was a cold and calm man. He had a lot of life experience, and he was the one who helped Elein solve all the problems their family had from time to time.
However, now he was agitated, for Elein could hardly stand on her feet. Her whole body was covered in blood, as she breathed heavily, as if she had just been in the middle of a fierce battle.
"Osvald... Water... Bring me water..." Elein mumbled heavily, each word costing her considerable effort.
"Sure!" Osvald quickly complied with her request; he even used his skill for the sake of it.
Whoooooooooooooosh.
A black stain appeared beneath him as if made of ink as he was instantly in the kitchen. It was with this skill that he got Elein off the bridge after the fight.
His skill had certain limitations, as it could only open at a certain distance, but he could do anything within the house.
In a few seconds, Osvald was right in front of Elein with a bottle of water.
Elein snatched the bottle from his hands and quickly drained it. Two liters disappeared in a few sips as if Elein had returned from the desert, she was very exhausted.
"Agh... It feels so good..." Elein took a deep breath before lying down on the floor.
"Are you all right...?" Osvald asked with a worried look.
"Yeah, don't worry about me. I may look dangerous right now, but I'm not hurt." Elein replied with a slight smile on her face.
"What...? Are you serious?" Osvald couldn't believe it.
Elein nodded, "Sure. Does it look like I'm hurt?"
Osvald raised an eyebrow.
"Hahaha, sorry, I'm just kidding." Elein giggled, then she looked at the katana that was lying next to her, "I don't know what happened, but after I went into the capsule I ended up in some kind of arena."
"The arena...?" Osvald gave her a questioning look.
"Yeah." Elein confirmed, "There was no way out of that arena, all I could do was fight before I passed the test. I had to kill several hundred opponents."
"Who exactly were you fighting?" Osvald asked.
Elein shrugged, "Honestly, I'm not sure. They were silhouettes of energy, with simple weapons like swords, spears, and axes. Anyway, I won!"
After these words, Elein rose sharply with a radiant smile. After the defeat by Zayne, she was mentally depressed, she thought it was the end for her since she was used to always winning.
But, today that feeling was completely gone. She won, though it was difficult, but she managed and completed the test.
Osvald smiled, he was genuinely happy for her, then he finally noticed the strange katana in Elein's hand, as well as the blue ring.
"What is it?" Osvald tilted his head, "As far as I know there is no such katana in our collection as well as a ring. When did you have time to get these things?"
Elein smirked, "Uncle, don't you get it yet? This is gear from Fallen Fate Online!"
Osvald's eyes went wide, "I see... So this was the last stage, wasn't it?"
Elein nodded vigorously, "Yes! And I probably did it first!"
At that moment Osvald realized that it probably wasn't just Elein, he immediately thought of Zayne. Then, he checked the news.
Most of them were about the unusual flash in their mansion, however, ten minutes before, there were several reports of the same flash in one of the skyscrapers. Part of this skyscraper belonged to the Platinum Post.
ραndαsΝοvεl ƈοm Osvald sighed, while shaking his head and showed it to Elein. She read the news, and the glint in her eyes slowly disappeared as she realized that Zayne was ahead of her, if only by a few minutes.
"Damn! Why did this happen again? I won! Why did I end up losing?!" Elein puffed up her cheeks as she clenched her fists in anger.
"Hahahahahahahaha!" Suddenly Osvald laughed, which made Elein embarrassed.
"Agh...? What happened? Why did you suddenly start laughing...?" Elein was puzzled.
"Sorry, it just seemed too funny and cute at the same time. Hey, maybe you should invite Zayne Fellen over for a cup of tea. If you want, I can set it up." Osvald smirked, touched his chin, and looked intently at Elein, waiting for her reaction.
Elein tilted her head, "Hmm? I don't understand you... Why would I invite him to tea? I mean, I doubt he and I could waste time on something like that."
Osvald shook his head, "You don't understand me at all. I'm telling you to ask him out."
For a time there was silence in the room. Osvald's words went through Elein's head, and each time they grew louder as if it were inevitable.
Then, Elein's face turned red as a tomato as she began to wave her hands.
"No! No! No! It's definitely impossible! Moreover, even if I wanted to, I wouldn't do it! Aren't the rules that a guy has to ask a girl out?!" Elein was completely confused, she was not prepared for this question.
Osvald nodded, "Well, you don't have to follow the general rules if you want to do it. However, apparently I was wrong, and you don't want to do it at all."
At that moment, Osvald with narrowed eyes glanced at Elein, scrutinizing the slight change in her face.
"Pfffft! Obviously, I'm not going to ask him out! That's impossible!" Elein snorted.
"I get it." Osvald nodded, "So if he does it, you'll say yes?"
Then, Elein blushed again. She left the question unanswered.
...
"Do you think Elein is all right?" Zayne asked as he looked at Alex and Alice, who were carefully studying the news.
It was as if Alice hadn't heard him, she was too immersed in the process, but, Alex smirked slyly.
"Well, well, are you really worried about her?" Alex narrowed his eyes.
Zayne was puzzled, then he realized what Alex meant.
"Hah, are you trying to make me feel embarrassed?" Zayne said confidently.
Alex shrugged, "No, that's your business. However, I have to admit that it would be pretty cool if the two best players at the moment started an affair. Damn, I can't even imagine how much news there would be about that."
At that moment, Alice put her phone away and turned her attention to Zayne.
"That's unlikely." Zayne shrugged, "I won't say I'm against relationships. I think it's something every person should try, however, Elein is definitely not my type."
"Hmm?" Alice gave him a questioning look, "In that case, what kind of girls do you like? Don't think I'm insinuating myself, I'm just curious."
Zayne wasn't sure if he should have said that, but after thinking about it for a while, he realized that there was nothing wrong with it. It was just an ordinary question.
"Elein is a very strong girl, and also stern and cold. I'm sure many men like girls like that, but I prefer nice and kind girls. Especially if it's not clear at first that they are." Zayne replied with a slight smile on her face.
Alice nodded as she crossed her arms.
Alex didn't answer anything, he just thought, 'Hah, so doesn't that mean Elein still has a chance? Obviously, she's not always like that on the bridge.'
